[No Regrets] Episode 6-10 Thoughts

No Regrets

  • Woah!! Ben’s past in Episode 6 was enticing! I had always wondered about this very civilized-looking guy with the glasses and what he exactly did that caused his own father to almost shoot him with a gun. While his transformation in “awaking” his inner self was a bit abrupt, I loved the whole idea of power arising/challenges against Sheren. Once again, Wayne was dragged into this for helping Sheren protect the old man who apparently holds the secret to Sheren’s past! Was Sheren really Elliot’s daughter?? A real or a fake..? When Sheren asked that question to Wayne in the end- it got my confused too! lol
  • It was awesome how everything went according to Sheren’s plan and she successfully suppresses her brother’s power! I knew the man seemed kind of suspicious when he started saying Sheren wasn’t his daughter, but I hadn’t realised it was all set up! I wonder what would have happened if Sheren really wasn’t Elliot’s daughter…
  • The episodes relating to Evergreen really annoyed me – it was really frustrating to watch! I absolutely hated Evergreen and I often felt so bad for Wayne!! All those LIES!!! Although I understand what the problem was between Wayne and his wife and where their arguments were coming from- I sided with Wayne. How could she trust Evergreen over her own husband?? =( Why won’t she listen to him and stay away from Evergreen?
  • The inevitable happened- Wayne’s wife cheated and started her affair with Evergreen. As much anger I felt, I just wanted them to move on- have their affair if they need to, divorce etc so they Wayne and Sheren could start their relationship XD Wayne deserves someone better! XD
  • I could already see a painful love story developing between Fala and Raymond even though there isn’t a “third-party”.
  • I was really happy for Pierre and his granny when they had a chance to reunite!! Everyone treated the granny really well as well and it was very comforting to see her spend her last few days happily with her grandson and a nice bunch of people~ aww!!
  • Episode 9 was so epic!! It was absolutely awesome that Sheren kept her words to help him take her revenge on Evergreen. I was expecting..and not expecting this! Sheren really won my heart this time. I think she has proven to us all that she is trustworthy and she keeps her words 🙂 GO SHEREN!! GO WAYNE!! Take that Evergreen!!
  • I started to question Sheren’s motives when she desperately pleaded Wayne to help save Nancy- especially how she didn’t involve her father etc. It made me suspicious, but I couldn’t see how it would be a trap to lure Wayne in. I wasn’t very convinced that Sheren didn’t keep her words and decided to promote Evergreen etc but at the same time, Sheren’s character was mysterious..who really knows what she’s thinking?
  • Episode 10 was WOAH!! We finally know that Sheren’s character is not as ‘evil’ as she seems..she’s much like Laughing-gor- an undercover, returning to stop her father’s drug dealing business! It explains why she’s changed. I always thought something happened after she was kidnapped and Sheren turned into a villain, but it’s part of her “20 year plan which is yet to be accomplished” Sheren is definitely planning everything really well!
  • I can only see Sheren and Wayne’s relationship growing stronger and stronger as they constantly help each other along the way and learn to understand each other.

I really like how the story is developing. Our question of Sheren gets resolved in a few chapter not needing to wait till the end. This way it helps us to understand her motive. I admit her plan for Evergreen was excellent. She convince him to quit the police force and lured him to the bad side was great. This way it gives Wayne a break from Evergreen and at the same time Evergreen has no more police back up. Setting the unlawfull people and the lawfull cop, both side gaining at Evergreen is awesome. Having Wayne wife to be able to see the truth was very satisfying.

    • Chibi says:

Except…the first couple of minutes of the drama is pretty much full of spoilers O_O

Kinda wish they excluded that >.<

    • KTVB says:

Yea that scene was awesome! I never thought I’d see the day where Wayne’s wife finds out EVERYTHING (pretty much that we are shown)=)

I thought it was funny how the gangster side all felt sorry for Wayne and sided with him hehe A MAN’S PRIDE!

  • Chibi says:

Loving No Regrets! There’s been no other TVB series this year as good as this, and one where I’m constantly wanting for more.

Great summary of thoughts, and finally most of Sheren’s backstory is revealed… (well, including episode 11) though I think they took the easier route having her Good-disguising-Bad, as oppose to her really being a villain and somehow having Wayne change her (that was my guess xDD) I think that would have been a harder take-on the story. Suddenly, upon knowing she’s not really evil, it makes her feel vulnerable and the audience suddenly fears for her safety. But either-way, there’s no doubt the audience is loving these two amazing characters (thanks to the very convincing acting)

Evergreen’s “Fei Fan Gor” character is disgusting, and the way Wayne’s wife constantly sided with him was annoying, but it was understandable to some extent. Evergreen was constantly feeding her lies, manipulating her, always being there when she felt insecure so it was no surprise that she fell for it all. Not all women are as smart as Sheren xDD I thought the whole scenario felt realistic and there really are idiots like Evergreen around. Like you, I was just glad his wife is finally out of the way and Wayne and Sheren’s relationship can start something, hehehee.

I’m also surprised by the man with the neck problem still alive…wonder if that will ever be explained…?

    • KTVB says:

yea..I was so shocked to see the Accountant..ALIVE! How could this be…? lol

    • hannah says:

oh yes, i’m also very shocked that the neck problem guy dind’t die! why?! i saw sheren ordering her guys to shoot him. he was shot, really shot. i still saw blood lol. and i thought they threw his body down?! how could he have survived?!

      • Chibi says:

yeah, and what makes me also wonder is if he was on Sheren’s side the whole time, or only sided with her after she secretly let him live..?

  • Madeline says:

Yeah, I agree that Sheren is kind of like Laughing gor being undercover spying on Elliot and stuff and Susan was trying to prevent that. I kind of hate Susan’s character as Hei Yee but she’s really a good actress and it was quite exciting to see. But Susan’s plan always backfires because of Sheren. Well, Sheren’s character is really intelligent that kind of girl and every plan she makes seems to go her way and I like how Wayne and Sheren really developed their relationship and they actually bonded a lot throughout those five episodes and it was poignant to see. And I’m really sick of Wayne’s wife being in Evergreen’s life like why won’t she just trust him? I mean she is Wayne’s wife right? And it was exciting to see how Sheren never broke Wayne’s promise for taking down Evergreen and punish him. I didn’t like the affair, it was annoying and I felt sad that Wayne have to go through all of this but it actually turned out fine later on.

This shows really proves the Sheren and Wayne deserved the Best Actor and Actress award in the TVB 43rd anniversary awards ceremony.

    • Chibi says:

haha I find Susan much much much more bearable than her role in the first RB series XDDD Man, I wanted her to die so much, lol… But Susan is an amazing actress and I don’t mind her too much here, it’s quite interesting to watch. What amuses me is that we’re constantly siding with Sheren, even though Susan isn’t wrong in her guesses- Sheren IS betraying them, but she continuously fails in her attempt to bust out Sheren (lol, hilarious!)

      • hannah says:

haha, i don’t find susan as annoying in no regrets as compared to her role in rb. 😀 probably because everything she did was in the interest of the cheng family. after all, she and brother did went through a lot before they had their own “empire”. it would be heart-breaking for them if an imposter (sheren’s kau mui; actually i’m still not sure if she is real or fake! xD) suddenly came and wrecked everything that they have done for nearly half their lives.

somehow, i emphatise with susan in here more than i emphatise with her in rb. 🙂 so whatever she did to me, was understandable.

        • Chibi says:

Yeah, her character feels ‘real’ and her intentions are rather clear and straight forward. Hope to see more character development (though I hear she’ll fight to death with Sheren till the last episode, lol)

  • Ri says:

I think everyone agrees that Fei Fan Kor is such a DOUCHE BAG. seriously, this guy has zero morals. And then there’s Wayne’s wife.. I was so annoyed with her! She’s just as disgusting as Fei Fan Kor! I felt especially disgusted at the part where she was begging Fei Fan Kor to help Wayne get his police job back and he made it look like he did everything he could to make that happen. Pft. Can’t stand em both! So glad Sheren helped Wayne to get revenge on Fei Fan Kor!

I agree that Sheren’s brother reverted back to his old self a bit too fast. But the way he cowered when Sheren’s father pointed the gun to his head sort of made it believable. Like, he only had the guts coz he had Susan and Tai Fong’s backing.

I have a feeling Nancy will be Sheren’s downfall. She plays such an immature character here!

I’m liking Wayne and Sheren more and more. I love how Wayne looks at Sheren sometimes – like he has no idea what she’s about to do next, but he’s so intrigued and compelled to help any which way 🙂

The theme song is awesome, no? 🙂 I catch myself humming it out of nowhere sometimes haha. I love this show! Even when the pace slows down a little, it’s still so good!

    • Chibi says:

      hahah ‘douche bag’ ~ perfect!

Wayne’s wife was quite an idiot herself, especially when she DID have an affair with Evergreen, yet she lies and pretends she didn’t and that Wayne was just accusing her >.> Poor Wayne, everyone was clueless to the pain & torment he had to go through, and constantly told him to save his marriage. Gotta love Pierre’s scene too when he decided to go and kill Evergreen for Wayne!

Even though Evergreen is now in prison, I can’t help but fear it’s not the end of him. He may, just MAY figure out the reason one day and get out of jail again (maybe side with Susan?) lol, pure speculation.

I think him reverting from “goodie-goodie” back to evol self was more abrupt than the other way around.. but boy was he freaky xD

I have a feeling Nancy will be Sheren’s downfall. She plays such an immature character here!

Nancy’s character is really really annoying..and dumb. But hey, she’s supposed to be 20-21 and not everyone is as smart as Sheren XD But yes, she seems to be a real burden…

      • Ri says:

“Nancy’s character is really really annoying..and dumb. But hey, she’s supposed to be 20-21 and not everyone is as smart as Sheren XD”

That’s what I keep tellin myself too when Nancy acts up! But it’s so hard to see her like that esp when she’s Sheren’s “weakness”!

        • Chibi says:

          Very..very risky one =_=

        • hannah says:

i really think that nancy will be sheren’s downfall. nancy has already l___ to sheren once, and the fact that she will later have a higher standing in the family than sheren… says alot about her character.

        • Chibi says:

oh~ hide the spoilers!! We’re not up to that yet! xDD

        • hannah says:

haha oops! i’m really sorry! >.< what episode are you guys watching now? i'll try to avoid commenting on the later episodes then. xD

Reply from KTVB: Yup, try and keep the topics on Episode 6-10 for this post to avoid spoilers etc for latter episodes. I’ll have the other episodes up when I’ve seen them 🙂

    • hannah says:

haha, wayne is really falling head-over-heels with sheren! 😀 i love how he is always so concern and anxious over her! sweetness to the max omg! i really think i’m crazy over no regrets! 😀

      • Chibi says:

Couldn’t agree more, I LOVE their chemistry!! They’re not even ‘lovers’ at this point, but just the way Wayne looks at her and how much he’s concerned about her makes my heart sing XD

        • faithict says:

I think this is what makes them really good actors and actress as they are able to depict to the audience how much they cared for one other and yet not lovers…really something for us to ponder about…same thing for rosy business and now no regrets..how they stood up for each other, understand one another…makes the audience wonder do they do that because they like one another or just plain good friends…it can go both ways…of course i prefer the former.. 🙂

  • cheela says:

I hated Evergreen’s character. I can’t believe that Wayne’s wife cheated on him. Elena is so stupid. Can’t believe that she actually thought Evergreen helped Wayne return to his policeman job.:(

  • faithict says:

I just finished up to episode 10. This series is really getting more and more exciting…i think as of now this is the best tvb series of this year…i still haven’t watched gun metal, but i am really loving this NR series up to now…

Several thoughts here…I really like how Sheren talked about yi hei and how she and Wayne help each other…Did i understand it correctly? Sheren took 6 months to set up the plot to expose Evergreen? And during that whole time Wayne must be thinking how Sheren doesn’t keep promises? Although they did not show it, i think during that time, it must be tough on both side…I don’t quite like Elena here…how can she be so blind and to trust Evergreen instead of her own husband? Yes, i can understand how both Evergreen and Elena grew up together, but still trusting him instead of her husband? She was so annoying and blind!!!I was so I am glad to see that everything is revealed later on and that Elena is able to see who is the good person and who is bad…I wonder if Elena was still hoping that Wayne might stop her from leaving? She was crying so much when Wayne said “we will always be good friend” at the train station…

When they introduced Nancy , somehow i already dislike her character…I am not sure why? Maybe i watched the promotion clip from the tvb anniversary last year, knowing that she is going to be the evil character causing a lot of problems for Sheren? I really hope that Sheren is able to go through that..of course with the help of Wayne :)…somehow i felt that the character of Nancy here is annoying and she already have that “going to be evil” look…in my opinion, i think her character is going to be developed into someone who is hungry for power and more evil compared to Susan…But again, I can understand why Susan is like this as she wanted to protect her family assets and do not want it to fall on other people….

I still don’t quite grasp the story of Ben…so what did he exactly do that make his father tried to kill him several years ago? Is it because he shot one of the gangster?

    • Chibi says:

      Yup, that is correct 🙂

Don’t worry, I don’t remember the sales presentation and I STILL don’t like her, lol. I don’t think anyone can stand her at this point.

Oh, it was explained that Ben eventually wanted to overthrow his father, stuck a gun at him and told him to back off his position and let him be in charge @_@ Shooting the gangster was just an example of how brutal his true character was..

      • smellysocks says:

Yup, and Elliot mentioned how Ben was kicking his bed when he was sick in bed back then too..

        • hannah says:

i think ben will turn out to be a very scary person. the fact that he can actually show no respect to his father (by kicking his bed, not once, but twice!), and the fact that he wore glasses just to “look more gentlemanly” is seriously freaking me out! >.<
