[No Regrets] Episode 1-5 Thoughts

No Regrets

  • I just finished watching episode 5 and I am absolutely loving it!! 😀 Sheren & Wayne’s performances were brilliant! (and it’s only the beginning!) The story is also very intriguing and suspenseful and I know the series will only get better. I’m very impressed!
  • There’s something about this series which really gives me the feelings from watching Rosy Business 1- it feels the same yet different at the same time. I love how they can evoke those feelings (which made RB1 so good) from the audience all over again while it’s fresh and has a whole different story.
  • I love Sheren’s villain role here!! She’s so awesome haha Even though she’s supposed to be the evil villain, I’m rooting for her! She’s so clever, just like Sheren’s character in RB1, and carries the words “Yi Hei” within her. She also eludes a very mysterious aura around her..a bit like Jessica’s character in “Sisters of Pearl” where you want to know more about her. There’s so much behind her character to explore- like how she became the person she is. It was sad to hear the speech she made on stage when she was a little girl- it must have been what she had to go through during the time she was kidnapped which changed her
  • Wayne’s character is so much more likable here than in RB1! He isn’t immature and doesn’t whinge like “Chai Gao” does. His character follows a similar trait though- he could be hot-tempered at times but he’s willing to do anything for his friends and loved ones.

  • The opening of the series reminds me of  “In the Chamber of Bliss” where we see Sheren who is now old  and she reveals snippets of the “past”. It’s almost like showing spoilers which also raises other questions too..I hope Sheren didn’t really kill Wayne =( It looks like they’ll be going through so much together!! It was also touching to see the hundred children she saved come back for her funeral. I loved how they described Sheren’s character- we’ll have to watch on to learn more about who she really is
  • No Regrets

  • I think Episode 3 is the most intense out of these 5 episodes. I was so touched by the way Wayne stuck up for Pierre. We can clearly see how Wayne can win the heart of all his friends
  • Pierre has a lot of spotlight in the first 3 episodes! I felt really sorry for Pierre’s character from the beginning. Although he was wimpy and constantly cried- I pitied the poor guy. I felt really happy for him after Wayne etc took him in-I wonder what other significance his character will play…
  • I just wanted to clarify some random thoughts-so was Sheren involved with the whole business about Pierre losing the lottery ticket money etc at all? Or was she just waiting for an opportunity to win the casino business back from her brother proving he was not capable to run it?
  • I found the girl kind of suspicious- what was the point of her taking Pierre to see Sheren’s Uncle, and then having him kick Pierre down the stairs..?  Just that part didn’t seem to have any significance to the story..?
  • I’m looking forward to seeing when Ben’s character actually did that almost made his father kill him. He seems to be quite a nice guy at the moment lol
  • Sheren’s plan was to pretend to “free” the Accountant in front of everyone, and then secretly kill him off afterwards to make people think she has “Yi Hei”. Does this mean she is indirectly admitting/acknowledging that her brother really did rape his wife?
  • I have a feeling Wayne’s wife will leave him for Evergreen… =X
  • Looks like Fala and Raymond will share a very sweet/sad romantic loveplot 😉

I totally agree with you! I felt sorry for Pierre and he’s just at a wrong place at a wrong time. But all of the misunderstanding has concluded so I felt happy that Pierre was revealed innocent. Last week’s episodes really must be very intense and I’m looking forward for more actions and more dramatic scenes 🙂
You are so on describing Sheren and Wayne’s character. I also like how during those 5 episodes, Sheren and Wayne shared one or two scenes together and it was pretty dramatic how Sheren was actually not on Wayne’s side but it proves that usually both of them has a point.

    • KTVB says:

Yup!! Wayne and Sheren share such an interesting relationship! And Wayne always seems so innocent when he’s in the same scene as Sheren haha Don’t think anyone would want to mess with “Gau Gu-leung”

      • Chibi says:

The unusual relationship between the 2 protagonist is probably what I find most alluring about No Regrets and RB1 😀 I love every scene they’re together, it’s so enticing and exciting.. you really don’t know what Sheren is thinking…

  • Sharon says:

Lol, i only watched two eps since im watching with TVBJ, its so good ^^
Looking forward to ep 3 tonight.
Pierre’s character has really bad luck, was amazed he had so much scenes in the beginning. He’s funny funny though when he didn’t want to take off his shirt when they were running or something.
No Regrets’ characters are totally opposite from the characters they had in Rosy Business…
I wonder why Ron isn’t in this? Too busy perhaps?

    • Madeline says:

Ron’s filming with Moses, Tavia, and Linda on Yes Sir No Sir but it’s too bad Ron’s not really in it. And I really want TVB to put Ron Ng in more shows because he hasn’t won any awards 🙁

I’m up to Episode 8 now 😛 try catching up.

    • KTVB says:

I think Pierre’s luck will change after episode 3- love how much Wayne sticks up for him!! I would be so moved if I was Pierre..at first it seems like he’s working under such a you..know lol and turns out Wayne is probably the nicest person he’d meet in his life 🙂

Can’t wait to watch their brotherhood grow and hopefully Pierre can make up to Wayne in the future

      • Madeline says:

I just finished Episode 8!!!!!! (SPOILER)Someone’s having an affair….and it’s obvious if you’ve watch the previous episodes…:) Can’t wait for more action

    • Chibi says:

I was pleasantly surprised by Pierre’s performance in the first 3 episodes, very good acting on his part, especially his crying scenes! A shame his character seems to fade in the background after that so hopefully his character gets some more spotlight in future episodes 😀

  • Madeline says:

Also, I really enjoy watching Fala and Raymond scenes 🙂 It’s just so sweet and cute 😀

    • Chibi says:

They’re kinda cute, but nothing really happened between them yet. Looking forward to more development 🙂

      • Madeline says:

I’ve seen the later episodes of Fala and Raymond, and it seems a bit sad after Fala rejecting her love for Raymond. I know they’ll eventually get :)together but I wonder how 🙂

  • hannah says:

haha! episode 9 is epic! >< and pierre is getting more manly woohoo! 😀 love his r/s with lau sing. and haha, i think the story really picks up when elena leaves for evergreen! i really love the kau mui – lau sing pairing! 😀 😀

  • saomongmo says:

OH goosshhhh, I really believe that Pierre should get some award this year, maybe for most improved actor??? The first few episodes proved that he’s a great actorrrrr!!!! And Sheren is soooo good at acting “gangster”. Her smirks and the way she walks is crazy on point! I really am looking forward to the rest of the story as it unveils her character along with her development with Wayne!! And of course, brilliant acting as usual. Oh btw, has anyone noticed the filmography this time around?? I think there’s a more appealing eye to the way things are filmed. It seems a lot more advanced for some reason and doesn’t seem like the usual TVB dramas.

    • Madeline says:

Pierre won the most improved actor last year and this shows really proves that he really deserved it last year 🙂 Maybe he’ll be nominated for best supporting actor because in The Comeback Clan, he wasn’t really that good.
I completely agree with you on Sheren and how much she’s into her role as a gangster 😛

    • hannah says:

yes, this drama “feels” different from the rest of the tvb dramas i’ve watched. it makes me feel as if i’m watching a movie itself. great job to the backstage crew, really! 😀

i really want sheren to get best actress again! she’s really doing a damn great job as kau mui here! 🙂

      • Chibi says:

        haha Sheren for TV QUEEEN~~~!!!
Totally deserving from what I can see so far 😀

      • wewah says:

I agree, that Sheren should get best actress, she performed really well and very mysterious. She totally got my vote. Hope tvb would be fair and know the true meaning of the award and not just giving to biological son/daughter. No regret also deserve series of the year too.

    • Chibi says:

Pierre is great 😀 He did get the most improved actor award last year though..so not sure if he will again this time around but hopefully he’ll get a nomination at least!

  • Badger says:

Just started watching the show as the Aus TVB distributor has released the 1st 16 eps on DVD. Did anyone notice that in the first episode, Wayne Lai and his team driving to the bank in a modern day vehicle? It was bizarre!

  • Marcus says:

hey who is that old man (no offense) that keeps yelling at Sheren? who is the actor Ngoh wah? tell me thanks

  • Liew says:

Ngoh Wah (Yueh Hua) was a leading actor during Shaw Brothers time. He could play villain and heroic roles equally well.
