Loading ...Reflecting on the year, 2012 hasn’t been a great year in terms of TVB series. It almost feels like last year where I don’t feel too much on who takes the TVB King and Queen Titles. Wayne Lai delivers a solid performance in The Confidant so far, but I’m still waiting for his character to shine. I wish Michael Miu was nominated for his role in Highs and Lows. I would have like Raymond Wong to be nominated for his role in Bottled Passion than Gloves Come off. I’m glad Joe Ma gets some recognition for his performance in Tiger Cubs (although I highly doubt TVB will give the award to him since he’s left TVB). My top 5 pick would be: Wayne, Damian, Joe, Kevin, Raymond Wong. I don’t think Wayne, Damian or Kevin should get it though… XD
I liked Raymond Lam and Kenneth Ma in their respective roles, but don’t feel they are quite there for Best Actor yet. Either way, if Raymond Lam gets it this year, I’ll be happy for him 😀

As for the rest… well, it’s almost the same every year so I don’t really care for much. But I guess it’d be nice for Him Law and Mandy to win~
Not really anticipated this year’s awards but curious who’s going to win best actor and actress and best series.
Don’t hate me for this but I don’t think Him Law should win. I find either Oscar or Edwin more deserving. As well, I feel that Christine and Eliza should NOT be on the most improving because I don’t see improvement.
Omg I agree with you, Oscar does deserve it for his acting in tiger cubs. I didn’t find him acting in on call or DIS that great. I thought jj jia should have been nominated instead of Christine

Him Law is just handsome face and hot bod for now. if u were to talk about acting skills, I think oscar fared better.
Anyone remembered “your class or mine” starring Sheren Tang and Bobby Auyeung years back, featuring both oscar and him law as well? I think i have seen oscar improve since then, but him’s acting is still the same.
aimee kinda reminds me of linda in a way… tvb gives them a lot of opportunities etc. and… lol aimee in the running for ‘best actress’? seems a bit early right? she should at least have more series under her belt… which should be in a lot more years.

This is what I think: feel free to judge (No hate)
Best Actor: Raymond Lam–This year he really deserves it and his role as Happy Sir was amazing.
Best Actress: Niki Chow/Linda Chung– I really like Niki’s sweet and innocent role as Chui Sum and Linda’s character change role as Hailey. So I don’t really know who to choose..
Favorite Male: Kenneth Ma– I will never forget the way he proposed to Tavia..those words are just so heartwarming.
Favorite Female: Kristal Tin– I really like her. Her character sometimes reminds me of Sheren Tang’s Jau Mui (No regrets)
Best Supporting Actor: Power Chan– At first I really hate him but in the later episodes, I actually quite like him and how cute he can be when he’s stubborn.
Best Supporting Actress: Mandy Wong– Her obnoxious and selfish character is what stood out to me in L’Escargot. I quite like her character change throughout the series.
Most Improved Actor: Him Law– I like him in Divas in Distress and his role in On Call 36 Hours really shows his character change which I like as well. I would like to see more mature sides of him in future dramas.
Most Improved Actress: Mandy Wong– She definitely deserves it this year. Nuff said.
Best Series: Well..I have three that comes to mind– Bottle Passion, The Hippocratic Crush, and Highs and Lows. Bottle Passion–great finishing touch, The Hippocratic Crush– the characters changing and growing mature throughout the series, Highs and Lows– the ending and a lot of intense conflicts and betrayal.
Other Comments and observations:
Kate Tsui (Pat)– I was deciding if she should win this year but I feel like her character reminds me of her role in Lives of Omission..
Eliza Sam (Hannah)– No offense but I don’t understand how she made it in the Top ten for both Best Supporting Actress and Favorite Female nomination..
Oscar Leung– It’s hard to decide between him and “Him” lol but either one of them definitely deserves the Most Improved Actor award.
I’m kind of disappointed that Kenneth Ma’s role as Charles from Silver Spoon Sterling Shackles isn’t nominated for Favorite Actor 🙁 I enjoyed watching the scene where he persuades his mom into him getting married to Rebecca Zhu (Xiu Yau). So touching!!
I feel that Linda Chung’s role for Witness Insecurity should be nominated for that instead of Eliza..

I want Michelle Yim to win Best Actress because Empress Dowager Cixi is a hard role to play and this is her third time playing Cixi! I don’t feel that the other actresses have shown their best in acting. Michelle Yim should win Best Actress!

im actually rooting for Charmaine Seah – When Heaven Burns. I know this series was way back (and TVB probably wont give her the award), but her acting really left a deep impression on me. I think she levelled up from the last time I saw her on tv.
I love Kate – Highs & Lows, but I just think she isnt time yet. Kate can portray this types of characters well (cue in her role in Lives of Omission)but on the whole, she still has room for improvement with regards to overall acting skills. I’ll prefer her to win Fav female character.
