PO CHUNG-LING (Steven Ma) was born in Jinan a family of New Year print. He is very bright, his father, PO POON (Ngo Wah), has therefore always hoped that he could one day carry on the family business. LING, mistakenly thinks that POON is working in collusion with some corrupt officials, refuses to listen to what his father says. His good friend, KO JIT (Sunny Chan), is a constable and he hates corrupt officials as much as LING does. Rumor has it that a fox spirit is creating troubles in Jinan. LING is almost killed when he is investigating into the matter with JIT. Fortunately, a mysterious girl named LING WU SIU-TSUI (Fala Chen) comes to his rescue in the nick of time. It turns out later that she is the fox spirit, and that she saves LING so as to return a past favor. As they spend more and more time together, TSUI starts to fall for LING.

The PO family has secured a large order of New Year print. To ensure the work can be finished in time they have to hire a large numbers of female workers. LAU SUM-YU (Linda Chung) applies for the job, but her real intention is to look for the man who was unfaithful to her sister, never knowing that she would later be caught in a love triangle with LING and JIT.

Oooh, sounds interesting! Woah, Steven and Linda are working together again! This is the fourth time they are working together as a couple already. They are compatible with each other, though.

  • Simba says:

    Yayyy Fala ! :]

  • chibi says:

ooo..looks interesting, reminds me of ‘Dark Tales’ 😀

  • Fiona says:

Yeeee, I agree. FALA!!! 🙂 and this series actually looks interesting. I actually…want to watch it! Hope it won’t be disappointing. -.-

    • faithict says:

me too..i hope it will not turn out to be disappointment like the series “Cupid Stupid”…

      • beciee says:

it was very sad ending of “cupid stupid” i think steven ma should go with tavia yeung! not with michael tse

  • eggtart says:

the story looks sad… and i tot fala and steven will be couple.

  • tvbfan says:

I read somewhere that it says something like Linda is going to sacrifice herself for her love to Steven? And also in the middle of the story she might turn into a bad character?? I am debating if i should watch this series as i am really hoping to see good ending between linda and steven. Any thoughts on this?

    • raydalover4eva says:

Yeahh, I also read somewhere that Linda is going to sacrifice her love for Steven (Or something like that. I think she probably might have wanted to give Steven up for Fala.) I don’t think that Linda is going to turn bad though, but the promotional clip showed that in the middle a fox demon (Fala maybe??)in return turned Linda into a fox demon herself. If I’m not wrong, Fala also cast a spell on Steven to make sure he loved her wholeheartedly, knowing that the one Steven loved was Linda.

      • tvbfan says:

i really really hope the ending is going to be a good one….i root for steven and linda all the way and hope that they will have a good ending…so fala is also an evil character in this series?

    • Person who like Chinese drama says:

Yah i think like this too. Steven & Linda should have the good ending..(-_-).

  • Jenny says:

Oh sounds interesting, honestly, TVB has been quite disappointing lately. The last series I watched and loved was A Fistful of Stances, I’m waiting for Sisters of Pearl to be released in Vietnamese though, that looks promising. Other than that, Fly With Me and Suspects in Love were just disappointing. Especially Fly With Me.

Even Mysteries of Love looks bland to me, despite some of my favourite actors are in it. However, this sounds interesting and I love ancient movies, so I’ll definitely be looking out for this one 🙂

  • quyen says:

mysteries of love is ok so far.. but watching pu song long is way better. i saw pu song ling first two episodes and its been great.

  • Fiona says:

mahaha, I personally like MOL better x)

  • kenny says:

i love the themesong of this drama i heard it when i was looking in 2010 tvb drama list on youtube

  • raymond says:

i think that Ghosts writer is better than MOL because the rating of first week is really high and they also have a lot of reciews

  • Rin says:

I’ve watched 10 eps of MOL already and it’s okay. I love Raymond and Tavia though! Kinda wish Raymond would show more.. emotions..? Feelings? Haha.

Watching Ghost Writer right now and from the opening song, omg. SAD! I wish this will have a happy ending but I doubt it cus it’s from Liao Zhai Tales and usually those stories are sad and heartbreaking 🙁

  • Hi says:

I think fala should be with steven.

  • Lynn says:

Even though Steven and Linda were a great couple in A Journey Called Life, I think in Ghost Writer Steven should be with Fala. I think it’s cause i felt sorry for her or something.. :/

  • RezT says:

I think Steven and Linda should be together! Too bad there’s no raymond in the series, miss raymond in classic clothing!

  • mike says:

this series is so bad twistedly written, you will see what i mean when you watch it. every charaters in this show clashes over one an other as if the writer don’t know which directions to take this show to so writer just write in all kinds of crap desperately to build up the show. another recent hong kong recent trash series. writers are getting bad again.

  • faithict says:

I just finished watching the last episode of this series…but i don’t quite understand the ending though…How did Linda from a ghost becomes Steven’s wife? Also, how did Fala ended up to be together with Steven and Linda? did she also get married to him?
This is really a weird story… Characters in here from good turns bad and then become good before dying…maybe that’s why i am having difficulties in understanding them…. 🙂

    • 'Muff says:

At the end, Steven comments on how Linda sacrificed her chance at becoming resurrected to stay with him forever, so that’s how she was there 😀
As for Fala, I didn’t even know if she died or not XD So I just imagined that she regained her powers and then her human form after time.

  • raymondpham says:

i think Ghosts writer is way better than MOL to be honestly people like MOL is not because of the drama but it’s actually because of Raymond and tavia

  • John says:

@ faithict….Linda stayed as a ghost so she will be able to stay with steven forever. The sacrifice for this is not allow to reborn after time is past.
Fala I guess did the same thing. None of them are married cause he cant physically marry any of them.

If you understand this series then you’ll like it…atleast I did. Very emotional, I actually cried a few times and im a guy LOL! Its embarrassing i know -_-“

    • faithict says:

thanks for the explanation…yeah maybe you are right, i don’t quite get the entire story that is why i don’t understand..maybe i should watch it again? ^ ^

  • Aurora says:

I feel like it could have been better. The characters weren’t consistent. I mean for goodness sake, Sum Yu’s martial arts kicked ass only when it helped a plot point. But it does get pretty emotiional — I sympathized with Fala’s character the most, especially at the end.

  • my says:

@john, i don’t get it, so who does steven really love in the end? linda or fala? what happened to fala?

    • jojo says:

maybe doesn’t matter who he loves but he said it lots of time that his heart has linda but to fala, he has a unable to describe feeling…
fala loses all her power and become little wu lei… and steven with both of them until he’s old which showed by fala gained back her power that can transform into human edi…

    • John says:

In the end it doesn’t really say who he loves but the given perception to the audience is that he loves both of them even though he can’t physically marry them.

      • John says:

And when I say he loves both of them I really meant he truly “loves” Linda, but the love he has for Fala is sympathy.

  • Sandra says:

    @john

If linda was really a ghost how can steven touch her hands?

    • jojo says:

she actually follow the light and suppose to reborn but i guess she refuse and wish to go back to steven and in return, she can be “solid” hold things etc but she’s still a ghost

  • sisi says:

hey everybody, i’m watching ghost writer and i like it, but it’s weird…
sometimes i don’t understand those things about the ghost…
personally, i like steven and fala do be together, ’cause they suit ech other ^^

  • karmen says:

Ghost writer has a pretty interesting plot, yes, there are PLOT holes, like how the family continues to believe Pak ling even after so many things, i know it makes for good drama, but people should so learn.

And I really liked the theme that no matter how much Fala had done for the Po family, Steven will always love Linda because that is LOVE. Steven will forever have gratitude towards Fala and love her that way, but Steven really in the deepest sense love Linda. This just proves that actions cant buy you love.

  • raymond says:

can anyone please transalted the themesong of ghost writer

    • john says:

i love linda chung, she so beautiful and sooo…natural.esp doing crying and sad scene.TVB she should try to promote n act her in more dramas,
as for fala chen she no beauty so plain looking

  • helen says:

i really love to watch linda chung. she so beautiful and natural esp when doing the crying scene.she soooo…natural.TVB should promote more of her.should act her in more dramas,as fala i dont think so she a beauty.too plain looking

    • Charlie says:

Yikes. I hope i don’t get flame after I post this.

I was disappointed after watching this drama. I guess you can say my expectation was set high (after hearing the high ratings and the cast in the shows). I also jumped into this show after MOL (thought MOL was pretty good).

I agree with Mike’s earlier comments about the writer. 🙁

I think maybe those that are interested way in the beginning would like the show. When I started the show, I thought it was boring and wanted to give it a chance to continue to the middle and finish with the end. 🙂

  • raymond says:

so to ur guys says that this series is not good enough. Idk i just watch to episode 8 the first 4 episodes is good but the episode5to8 is not that good, so idk if i continue watching it, can ur please help me out, isn’t good after episode 8 or it will be worth as farther we go. Help me out. Do i need to continue watching this

    • Charlie says:

The opinion is only my opinion. I’m pretty picky though. And I didn’t find the show that great to start off (but you enjoyed it), so you might enjoy it! I thought it did pick up a little in the middle (that is why I stayed with it). Good Luck!

  • Simba says:

I’m on episode 8 too, wish Fala would show up more! It’s getting sort of draggy. :/

    • fala says:

yeah i totally agree the show is getting a bit boring now and i think fala chen brightens it up cos there’s more of a love triangle. Her acting in this show is also great, striking a fine balance between innonence and passion! 😀

  • Cammy says:

Ghost writer is just fantastic especially Steven Ma — excellent acting and his ancient look is simply captivating — Po Chung Ling is alive with his acting…. Congratulations Steven Ma!

  • kelbin says:

any one have this themesong cantonese pingyin translatetion?

  • 'Muff says:

I finished watchiiing xD (spoiler time ;D)

At the end, there were some things that didn’t feel fully accounted for, and so I just kind of ‘imagined away’ solutions. So… =\

But otherwise, I liked it ^^

Fala was so cute as her character, haha. And when she was being taught to do things that weren’t ‘good’, it was like ‘Nuuuuu don’t lose your innate goodness!’ D: And as if she’s plain! She’s a pageant winner XD

Oh and I’m confused, I thought she was a ‘yiu’ at the beginning, but a good one who wanted to be ‘upgraded’. And then at the end when she insisted she was a demi-god, I thought she was just in denial. And then she continued referring to herself as one. o_o I guess I assumed wrong at the start then… odd… or maybe just another inconsistency…

Guuurghh so sick of watching Sunny loool. Really didn’t like his character when he changed. Multiple personality disorder much. The end was pretty cool when he fought himself and then stabbed himself.

I thought the ending was cool in that it showed us a montage of an older production 😀

  • zazuki says:

im actually excited for this show because i love the linda-steven pairing..they have such great chemistry!!

  • Jnewin says:

Ghost Writer was a decent series. I suggest you watch God of Honour if you like the story about the nine tail fox, at least you will see how pretty and evil Irene Wan is.

  • anonymous says:

    fala chen! she’s so cool!

  • hello says:

    xiao cui i loveeee you!
