Hi everyone,

Yesterday I attended the Miss Sydney Chinese 2010 event, and thought I’d share some TVB eye candy with you! Our very own ‘Po Chung Ling‘  TVB artist  Steven Ma Jun Wei was a special guest for the night, so I knew I just had to go and meet him! I had a lot of fun and excitement meeting Moses Chan and Linda Chung last year, and I hope more TVB artists will come to Sydney! It was his first time being in Australia and some lucky fans even saw him on the Sydney streets snapping pictures.

Steven Ma only appeared on stage right near the end of the entire event, coming in and performing Ghost Writer’s (Pu Chung Ling’s) opening theme song, and other classics. He did a beautiful job and I think this was probably the highlight of the night for me 😀

Here is a video recording of Steven Ma performing 心竅 Ghost Writer’s themesong :

Although I wasn’t sitting too far from the stage, some pictures probably aren’t the best quality because I had to zoom in a lot. Nevertheless, hope you enjoy these pics!

@Twinstars: ‘Weibo” is a micro blogging platform (Kinda like China’s version of Twitter) where people (including celebrities, if they have an account) can post messages/pictures/clips on-to-go and interact with fans.

  • KTVB says:

    Wahhh!! It’s Steven Ma <3

Thanks for sharing the pics with us chibi 🙂 Hope he comes back again soon!

Wish I could have went to see him too!

  • mayaden says:

As a Steven Ma fan I thank you so much for posting the vid on youtube and for the pictures here. I hope you don’t me uploading both videos on tudou because Mainland Chinese fans can’t excess youtube.

What other songs did Steven sang? So glad to read that he was the highlight in a Beauty pageant. Yes, there were numerous Steven sighting on Sidney streets on weibo. haha!

  • raymondpham says:

did he look good in reaf life and is he look short or not

    • chibi says:

I wasn’t able to get really close to him unfortunately so I couldn’t stare at his face in detail, lol! But from what I saw I think he’s very charming ^_^ He’s not short at all at 180cm! 😀

      • raymondpham says:

180cm is very high so he not short why did he look short in the drama maybe he is skinny thats why he look short

      • Twinstars says:

i saw him up close too…he’s not that tall as i expected to be…
he’s so funny…i was laughing all the way through…he’s so cute & friendly…i had so much fun!!! =)
hope he can come again soon la…if you know anything about it, please do let me know…cheers!!! =)

        • chibi says:

Ohh..so did you see him in Sydney too?

        • Twinstars says:

yup, but not during the street walk or in the miss chinese sydney beauty pageant nite…

only in airport…when he arrived & departed…i was lucky to guess it right…phew!!! :p

wondering, who’s coming for the jadeworld event this yr??? if anyone know…pls do let me know…thx!!! 🙂

        • mayaden says:

That vid clip of Steven griping about someone weiboing on his abalone purchase was soooo funny! Tough being a celebrity, eh? hahaha!

    • mayaden says:

Yeah, Steven Ma fans who saw him in real life said he is not short at all, at least 180 cm, but that his leading ladies are taller than average.

  • mayaden says:

Also, are the photos transferable to steven-ma fansites? with proper credit given to source of course.

  • Sharon says:

Ahhh you went?! Lol, I didn’t even know where that Kengston Parade Threatre is.
I wish I saw him on the streets randomly Haha. Those are so lucky to see him randomly.
Wish to see him one day 🙂

    • Chibi says:

Yeah, I went because my boyfriend had 2 free tickets- and knowing Steven Ma was going I just couldn’t say no, hehe! It’s pretty expensive though (the seats I got were $68 priced tickets) and they’re not the most expensive seats either.

Kensington Parade Theatre is in Kengsinton- right across UNSW 🙂

      • Sharon says:

Whoa… no wonder I dunno it… It’s quite far away from where I am… The most expensive is $88 isn’t it? $68 is very expensive to me and it seems that you were quite far away…?! Then $48 will be EVEN further O.O

        • Chibi says:

Exactly! Unless you know one of the beauty pageant contestants, you wouldn’t pay that much just to sit in the same hall as a celebrity ^^; $48 is really high up.. Most of the audience were there to support their friend/family on stage XD

  • kinki says:

Steven Ma’s a great actor. He can portray both ancient/modern characters very well!! Very few actors in TVB can do that! And he can also SING! lol~ 🙂

  • mayaden says:

Chibi, tvba has upload a full-length video on the whole pageant including a 13:15 min of Steven’s performance. by part 12 TVBA 13:15

Also some tidbits on Steven’s height – not that you need any proof but maybe for those who still have doubts about his height.

access link to see photo of Steven with 현아Ranea (Miss Sydney 2nd runner up) posted on her weibo to gauge Steven’s height.

    from her weibo:
현아Ranea says she is 172 without shoes, but on that night she had on a pair of 10cm heels so her height was 182 cm in the pix taken with Steven. But Steven standing next to her was still taller than she. So obviously like she says, Steven is definitely at least 180cm without shoes.

현아Ranea says: haha, i can prove it!!he is indeed over 180. he is so charming@^^@(8月3日 20:37)

  • M says:

I stood next to Steven Ma on stage at the pageant and he commented that I was really tall.

I’m 173cm without shoes on and I was wearing 10cm heels and I was a bit taller than him.
He would be around 180cm with shoes on.

Hope that clears things up 😉
