Favourite Couple: Wong Cho Lam & Christine Kuo
Favourite Character: Wong Cho Lam- he is soooo adorable in this series XD Aimee’s character is pretty cute here too (I think she has some resemblences to Christine Kuo). I love how her personality changes to frequent and the way she constantly stomps her feet lol Linda’s character is pretty boring in the series; at least Ella gets some dancing XD
Woot!! The Light Switching Ceremony celebrates the beginning of TVB’s Anniversary month leading up to the Awards Ceremony 🙂 The event occured about 2 weeks ago in Hong Kong which usually focuses on the Anniversary Series. I didn’t think this year’s show particularly stood out- nevertheless, it was an exciting event especially for TVB Fans XD Here are a couple of thoughts from the show:
Firstly…I thought this year is TVB’s 44th Anniversary (since 2010 was 43rd)- Did they skip a year because 44 was a bad luck number or have I gotten something wrong?
The show begun with Leo Ku singing the themesong of 2010’s No Regrets. Dramatic song which I liked and reminded me of the previous year’s anniversary series but felt it was kinda looking backwards rather than ahead? Just a thought.
I noticed Wayne looking really enthusiastic in the back, singing along to No Regrets Themesong XD
Usually the positioning of the artists represent their status in TVB. This year, the artists standing in the front row consist of: Wayne Lai & Maggie Cheung from Forensic Heroes 3, TVB’s “Biological’ son Raymond Lam, Curse of the Royal Haren’s Myolie Wu, Bosco Wong, Fala Chen, Ron Ng and Kate Tsui
The other side consisting of the 3 “Fuk Luk Sau” from Super Snoops (Johnson, Louis and Wong Cho Lam), Steven Ma, Linda Chung, Kenneth Ma and Selena Li
I thought it was ‘funny’ to see Steven Ma there given all the recent news regarding him leaving TVB, his dissatisfaction and all. Perhaps this was a way for TVB to show his respect for Steven and hoping he’d stay?
When I see the cast from the front row, no one there other than Wayne gives me the confidence of deserving to win Best Actor/Actress award. Maybe it’s too soon to say given Curse of the Royal Haren hasn’t airred yet; but I’m starting to feel that the leading actresses and actors aren’t as strong this year.
I’ve never been that impressed with the contestants/winners from The Voice so as with previous years, I didn’t find their singing performance that spectacular..
TVB’s 45th Anniversary Series include: Super Snoops èƒåŠ ç¦ç¥¿å£½æŽ¢æ¡ˆ, Forensic Heroes 3 法è‰å…ˆé‹’3, Curse of the Royal Haren è¬å‡°ä¹‹çŽ‹ and new Sitcom about marriages. As with previous years I’ve skipped the parts where they interview the cast in hope to avoid spoilers xD
I thought the dance performance by “Curse of the Royal Haren” was a bit random since they used the music from”Can’t Buy Me Love”.
The posing thing forForensic Heroes 3 seemed a bit of a waste of time with no real purpose…but it was nice to see Wayne and Ron sing the themesong 🙂
The wonder how the anniversary series will roll out this year. So far I’ve seen half of “Super Snoops” which I quite enjoy watching actually! I’m growing more and more fond of the 3- the comedy is quite cute and funny and the 1960s thing is growing on me again haha I enjoy seeing the three a lot more compared to previous years.
I’ve just watched the first 5 episodes of Forenic Heroes 3 and am quite enjoying that too. Maggie and Wayne are so cool together! XD Wayne’s Pro Sir is soo proooo!! XD
Looking forward to the Gala Celebrations and Awards Presentation Ceremony 🙂

This is a post dedicated to Steven Ma’s Lip Dor Bo & Selena Li’s Cheuk Ji- Yeng/Duan Man-Gak Gak from The Life and times of a Sentinel.
For most of this series I liked watching Steven and Selena together and watching their relationship grow. Although not much was happening between them, the two were kinda cute- always bickering; then later becoming really good friends. Steven’s family owned a restaurant; while Selena’s family opened up a medicine shop so they were quite compatible in terms of status wise as well.
Steven cheering Selena up by deliberately letting Selena make fun of him
Things started to get a bit complicated between them when Steven became an imperial guard and he later finds out his true identity; carrying the burden of the tradgey his family had faced. On the other hand, Selena’s adopted foster father revealed her tragic past and they were part of the anti-Qing rebels. As Steven was an imperial guard; Selena’s father asked her to use their relationship to their advantage. Upon knowing Steven’s mission of finding the missing Princess Duan Man; Selena’s father plotted to have Selena assume that identity to become the princess to get close to the emperor to kill him.
Selena takes the doll he gave her and wanted to remind him of their friendship; Steevn chooses to distance himself.
During their mission, Selena was in dilemma as she was worried about Steven’s safety since he was beside the emperor at that time. Conflicted betwen mission and love; Selena helplessly prayed that he would be ok. Steven ended up putting his life in danger to protect Emperor Hong Hei and becomes seriously injured.
Selena’s foster father later reveals the truth that she is indeed the actual Princess Duan Man and he had used her to go against her own family
Episode 25-26 Finale
The finale episode showed the most of their relationship! The palace was becoming a very dangerous place and Selena wanted to leave the palace with Steven and live a life where no one knew them. Steven promised he’ll take her away. However, the Grand Empress found out he was the First-Class Imperial Guard’s grandson who came to seek revenge and sent men to go after him. During their escape, Steven’s friends all die for him, and he later gets poisoned. Forced to the edge of a cliff, Steven eventually jumps off and luckily survives. Selena went to find him and helped suck out the poison from him. Luckily the two both get saved by the monk and they both survive! 🙂

Senior Chemist PO KWOK-TUNG (Wayne Lai), Senior Forensic Pathologist CHUNG HOK-SUM (Maggie Cheung ), Senior Inspector LING SIN-YEE (Kate Tsui) and Sergeant LEE CHIN-FUNG (Ron Ng) are brought together by a series of bizarre murders.
Through years of close collaboration, PO and SUM who share similar personality traits have gradually developed a tacit understanding with each other. Following his separation from his wife CHOW YIK-FEI (Nancy Wu), TUNG comes to realize that SUM is the one who knows him best. Having experienced so much together in the Regional Crime Unit, YEE and FUNG begin to form a genuine bond and finally fall in love. The romantic story of another perfect pair, Scientific Evidence Officers CHEUNG CHEUK-KWAN (Aimee Chan) and HO CHING-MAN (Edwin Siu), is a touch of color added to the serious atmosphere in the office. Day after day, this invincible team of experts continues to combat crime through their cross-departmental collaboration in the areas of forensic identification, chemistry, logic, psychology, pathology and scientific technology.
Inspector SUN CHIU-TUNG (Liza Wang) leaves the police force because of an unsettled case. She then opens a private investigation agency and, due to all sorts of accidental mishaps, employs KUNG CHAK-LAM (Wong Cho Lam), KUNG TUK-LAM (Louis Yuen) and TSUI SHUI (Johnson Lee).
The three young men have all been treated badly by life. By taking them in, TUNG is given the ability of clairvoyance, that is, the power to see the future. CHAK-LAM, TUK-LAM and SHUI also have distinct supernatural power of their own. CHAK-LAM can go through a wall; TUK-LAM can turn into a kung fu master for a minute whenever he likes; and SHUI is able to make a person tell the truth. With their supernatural powers and superb impersonating skills, the foursome is gearing up to crack the most difficult cases and make you laugh and fall off your chair!
My favourite couple would have to go to Bowie and Elena 😀 The couple caught my attention early on in the series when I felt soemthing was going on between them. I loved the way they both cared for each other and seemed like they understood each other without having to say so. Their love felt so deep and it was heartbreaking to see that they were ‘forbidden’ to be together and were forced to lock up their feelings. The two had so much chemistry- esp when they exchanged glances 🙂 I’m glad the two got a happy ending and were able to be together in the end!!
My second favourite couple would go to Linda and Sunny. They were so adorable and their love was so sweet! Episode 3 really brought changed their opinions of each other and later became really good friends. I feared that he only saw her as his little sister although it was obvious she had a crush on him. The ‘get-tgoether’ scene was so cute too! I thought the fireworks he made were realyl romantic too! Those scenes were cute!! The two went through so much to be together (pressure from both families). It was comforting that their love for one another didn’t change as they were able to overcome all their obstacles. The most sad, touching scene was when Sunny was trying to convince Linda to give up their unborn child because of her health conditions..it was sooo sad and emotional! Glad the two have a happy ending as well!!
While I disliked Pierre everytime he was so ‘blind’ and did all those bad thing- I must admit I don’t mind him that much when he’s around Sire- Maybe because Sire can’tame’ him and she was there for his good. I liked Sire a lot in the drama so quite enjoyed watching this couple too XD
Cilla and Alex- I’m not a huge fan of this couple or the individual characters so I’ll jsut leave it at that…lol
When I first saw the trailer for Men with No Shadows, my initial reaction was 0_0;|| a bit speechless and well, not too amused haha. It sounded silly and “mo liu” and the idea reminded me of “Fly with Me” which totally turned me off.
Nevertheless, I gave it a go because my favourite Raymond Lam was in it and Bobby’s always fun to watch. The first episode didn’t appeal to me much, but as I continued to watch on, I found myself so attracted to Typhoon (Raymond’s Death God character)- He is absolutely ADORABLE!!
When Raymond first appeared he spooked me out a bit. He had a very serious look on his face. However as we see him interact with Bobby more, we see all dimensions of him: A death god trying to be human XD Most of the time when he’s listening to Bobby he has that blank look on his face (he reminds me of L from Death Note a lot!) I love all his expressions, especially when he is really happy, smiling and seeing him enjoy being human so much! I also like the things he says, he’s pretty funny and robot-like haha I also think it’s cute how he’s always eating an apple (like Ryuk from Death Note).
Some of my favourite things:
He got his nails painted with Tavia XD So funny!!
When he doesn’t know when he should be angry and is still happily smiling
When he pretends to be angry; or hurt (to act more human)
His love for shopping
Everytime he mentions the apple : ordering apple juice, freezer for his apples
The scenes where he is pursuing Tavia- so charming and attentive!!
I’m really enjoying the series because of Raymond. Looking forward to seeing more of him!!
