  • K2K says:

I think you’re missing Steven Ma for best actor nominees.

  • KTVB says:

When I started typing up the nominations list..i realized how disappointed I was with the series that were released this year..many cannot stand a chance in winning the award and there’s really only a few who I think deserves the award, or stand a chance in top 5 nomination.

I support Sheren for both Best Actress and favourite Female Character Award! Wayne for Best Actor and either Wayne or Kenneth for Favourite Male Character Award!

*Updated- added in preferences at post above*

  • lizzy says:

It’s Elaine Yiu anyways (instead of Elanne)

    • KTVB says:

      corrected! Typos..it’s getting late ^^;

      • lizzy says:

Who do you support for Best Supporting and Most Improved awards?

        • Madeline says:

Best supporting Actor: Pierre or Raymond Wong from No Regrets

          Most Supporting Actor: Raymond Wong!!

Best Supporting Actress: Natalie Tong from Fistful of Stances or Fala Chen from No Regrets

Most Improved Actress: Natalie Tong 🙂

Did Fala ever got a Most Improved Actress award?

        • Chibi says:

I *think* she jumped straight to best supporting actress for her role in MR?

        • Madeline says:

I checked wikipedia on Fala, and she got best supporting actress on the tvb series Step up?? But Steven Ma and Bernice Liu is in it 🙂 thanks though

        • Chibi says:

Oh yeha, she got it for “Steps”. That’s kinda a shame since she was a lot better in MR. Steps was one of Fala’s earlier series I was surprised she got an award so quickly.

  • benchesandstools says:

Sheren tang and wayne lai!! Ho~

  • Ri says:

as i look through the nominations I really cannot think of any outstanding ones other than the cast of No Regrets. Sheren and Wayne for Best Actress and Actor as well as favourite characters! 🙂

I think it will come down to Can’t Buy Me Love and No Regrets for Best Drama. Or maybe even Gun Metal Grey? Hm. In terms of writing, No Regrets is pretty solid but Can’t Buy Me Love brought in really high ratings which No Regrets has yet to do. I really hope it goes to No Regrets because as much as I enjoyed the silliness and fun that way CBML, NR is by far a better series.

BUT! I do know that I want either Joel or Raymond to win Most Improved Actor because it’s abt time!:) Personally, I’m leaning towards Raymond more 🙂

How come Raymond Lam isn’t nominated for his role in GTL? Don’t think his role is MOL was really that good..

thanks for the list of nominations, K! awards time is always fun and I look forward to the awards ceremony and anniversary show! 🙂

    • Chibi says:

The only reason Raymond L was nominated for his role in MOL over GTL is because MOL garnered better ratings (which.. is kinda sad XD) I guess they think Raymond may stand a chance because of that- not necessarily because his acting was better. He did better in GTL imo.

  • Chibi says:

Sadly, this year’s series were only so-so… and I’m not being biased or anything but only characters and acting from “No Regrets” really stood out for me. I had some trouble trying to vote for some categories simply because of the low quality nominees. Sad to see Susan Tse not in the nominations list, I really like her acting.

I can’t stress how bad I thought “Mysterious of Love” was, and Raymond Lam’s acting there was one of the most horrible I’ve seen from him in recent years. I don’t really blame the actor since it was more to do with his character’s lack of depth and development- but if he really won the award for this character (character or best actor), I’m really going to look down on TVB.

I hope this year’s award will be as fair as it was last year, awarding actors for their skill and hard work, not just because they’re “popular” >.> Some of the nominations in there are horrifying to say the least.

I fully support Wayne Lai to get best actor! There was nothing outstanding about Moses, Raymond Lam or even Steven Ma’s acting this year. The same could be said about the female leads where Sheren is clearly the champion. I love that she takes on such difficult yet brilliantly written characters and conveys them in such a convincing manner. Totally support Sheren for best actress and favourite character award.

Most improved actor? Probably Raymond Wong, only because we’ve seen him act in so many roles this year I think he will get it.

  • kinki says:

I guess it’s kinda quiet this year.

I haven’t watched any of ‘No Regrets’. (Since I’m not a fan of Period drama) So no comments on the acting & storyline on this one.

On the other hand, I’ve been watching ‘Gun Metal Grey’ and quite like it. The cast’s pretty good..long time no watch Jessica’s series..so that’s refreshing!! I guess she’s good female(if not best) opposite for Michael Miu & Felix Wong too. Btw, I think Nancy Wu looked prettier in this series too..dunno why though?! lol~

I guess I am more biased on Modern series this year! I personally favourite “Mysteries of Love” for the Best Drama; Raymond Lam for Best/Favourite Actor and Tavia Yeung for Best/Favourite Actress (but doubt any of them would win though) But still cheering them on!! 😀

As for prediction-wise, the only winners I am certain (99.9%) are Raymond Wong (for Most Improved or Best Supporting Actor; likely to be “Most Improved”) and Liza & 3 Gods as best Host/Best Variety Show. I mean, the show was such a BIG hit, they are even having a concert from it. I mean *Wow*!~

I think Sheren Tang & Wayne Lai are most likely gonna repeat as Winners of the Best Actress/Actor category. For the reason, just because. lol~

It seems as if there are “some” competition going on..I guess mostly made up from the entertainment news guys. (Wayne Lai, Moses Chan, Raymond Lam & Sheren Tang & Charmaine Sheh etc.) But I am uncertain who’s ‘really’ favourite to win this year, cos none of them REALLY stood out from their own series. (ie no BIG controversies and plots discussions (yet, I guess); most news are just stuff/warmth from last year’s series. I mean, most actors/actresses are favourite this year’s just because of their popularity (and not because they are HOT from his/her series). That’s kinda weird, unfair and boring too, I guess. Well, these are my thoughts.

    Happy 43rd Anniversary, TVB! ~WooHoo~ 😛
    Go RAYMOND & TAVIA!(nonetheless!~) YA~ 🙂

    • Madeline says:

I really want Raymond Lam and/or Linda Chung to win this year as Fave male and female 😛

    • Chibi says:

Skipping ‘No Regrets’? =O You’re missing out!
NR is by far the best drama produced this year, though I understand many people can get turned off by period dramas. In fact, I used to feel the same way.. until I decided to give them a go and found it surprising how GOOD THEY WERE.

Now I’m gonna watch every period drama that comes out. Modern drams are too cliched nowaways..

      • Candie says:

I skipped NR and don’t feel regret. The series is so draggy after epi 5 or else. It is getting boring with the repetitive parts all the time. The dairy is too hard to get sleep. NR has the shadow of RB but a worse version. Cheung’s script makes it good until epi 5.

        • Candie says:

P.S: No regret to skip No reget.

        • kinki says:

I guess ppl just have too high expectations from RB and hoped for the same (if not better) outcome for NR! Nonetheless, there are still supporters out there, like Chibi! 🙂 I guess it’s still early to say, cos RB’s heat got off after halfway through the series if I remembered correctly.

        • anon says:

errr…. isn’t it unfair to compare rb and nr? both of them may have the same cast, but the story’s totally different. -_- it’s like comparing apples with oranges. and for me, it’s ok to have the shadow of rb in some scenes, since they are from the same backstage crew.

whatever. everybody has different tastes. i happen to enjoy no regrets very much as well. to me, it’s one of the best tvb drama of 2010. 2010 is really a very bad year for tvb dramas. i can’t believe i actually wasted time watching a few episodes of stupid series before finally giving up.

too bad for those who dun like pre-moderen dramas, because this year’s pre-modern dramas are prety good surprisingly, like AFOS and SOP.

        • Chibi says:

Actually, I’m up to episode 20 right now and I think the story is pretty mind blowing~ I agree the intensity dies down a little after episode 5, but as you watch on the story does pick up once again and right now I’m just dying to watch more 🙂

I love that there are bits similar to RB

        • Candie says:

It’s not unfair. They meant to make NR the shadow of RB because RB was too popular.

I read your comments and think you praise NR too much so I gave it the second chance but it disappointed me again. I watched to epi 20 and it’s so draggy, boring and dark. I even can finish GTL but NR, No regret to skip it the second time. Wayne Lai is OTT! His very good acting in RB is replaced by OTT acting in NR. His actions are very force. Even Raymond Lam acted better than him in MOL. I swear, MOL was the worst series before NR.

        • Candie says:

P.S: I take back my comments. NR doesn’t have the shadow of RB because it isn’t deserved.

        • hannah says:

i guess different people have different tastes. 😛 most people like NR as well, but there will bound to be some people who don’t like it.

RB was popular as well, but there are some people who don’t like or get the hype about it.

i think once you don’t like a series, there’s no point in continuing to watch it.

i personally like NR as well. 🙂

        • JacJac says:

Haha I agree with you. No Regrets is so boring.

      • kinki says:

I guess your case’s different from mine. I dun recall liking/loving any of the period drama series. Until my taste changes, too bad for me, I guess. 😛

      • anon says:

agree chibi! i used to hate pre-modern dramas as well, but this year’s modern dramas totally sux for me. it’s either too much copying from other countries dramas or the oh-so-cliche storylines.

agree with you that nr is by far the best drama this year! support nr for best drama! 😀

        • Chibi says:

haha yes, AFOS and SOP were the better series this year~ I don’t recall any modern drama series this year that left any impression on me..actually, I was really unimpressed by a lot of them.

  • hannah says:

i am really supporting sheren for best and fav character! watch episode 20 and you’ll totally think that she shld win over and over again! 😀 she’s that great! 😀

love wayne lai too! he does very well in emotional scenes! best actor!!

no regrets for best drama, really! 🙂

    • Madeline says:

agree 🙂 but although I want other actors and actresses from different shows to win Fave Female or Male and Best Actress/Actor too like Charmaine Sheh from Can’t Buy me Love or Linda Chung from Ghost writer or Raymond Lam from Mysteries of Love something like that you know 🙂

    • Chibi says:

      Agree agree agree!!! :DD

      • Madeline says:

I know that No Regrets people did a great job but other people in different shows did well too 🙂

        • Chibi says:

It’s about awarding the people who deserve it the most. Charmaine & Moses may have done well in their series, but was it outstanding? Was it a breakthrough role? Probably not.

        • anon says:

nah… i didn’t like moses and charmaine in cbml. they have been in better comedies and have performed better in other dramas. i couldn’t continue watching cbml because of them. i only managed to watch up till ep 15 for fala and susanna (fala is surprisingly good, too bad she doens’t have much screeentime) before giving up. wasted my time on this series haiss….

      • Madeline says:

Yeah Charmaine and Moses weren’t that good 😛

I don’t know but some people from different shows should earn it you know like Linda Chung as Favorite Female or Best supporting Actress Natalie Tong. BEsides, they aren’t in No Regrets but I’m not saying that No Regrets is not good, it’s really good and has a lot of violence.

  • charlynn says:

CAN’T BUY ME LOVE CHARMAINE SHEH AND MOSES CHAN

Favourite Female Character: Christine Ng ^^
Favourite Male Character: I don’t really have one, but I chose Wong Cho Lam 😀
Most Improved Actress: Selena Li!! 😉
Most Improved Actor: I chose Alex Lam (I would choose Joel Chan…but I think he deserves more than most improved actor ^^)
Best Series: Gun Metal Grey ^^ It’s pretty intense stuff lolololololol 😀

      Best Actor: Wayne Lai
      Best Actress: Sheren Tang

Best series: No Regrets!!! or Can’t Buy me Love <3

      • Chocoholic says:

        Best Actor: Wayne Lai
        Best Actress: Sheren Tang
        Best Supporting Actor: Dominic Lam
        Best Supporting Actress: Fala Chen
        Fav Male: Kenneth Ma
        Fav Female: Charmaine Sheh
        Most Improved Male: Raymond Wong
Most Improved Female: Selena Li 🙂
Best Series: A Fistful of Stances

I know many ppl prefer CBML or NR, but personally I love AFOS the most. My second pick would be Ghost Writer. I seriously hope that Selena will get the Most Improved as everyone can see she has been improving in every series. No doubt, Elaine has too. But Natalie? I would think that it’s a little too early. Selena should get it first. no doubt that Natalie has done well in AFOS but i feel that Selena was better in her overall performance. and she had been nominated for so many times. TVB should give the award to her long ago. Hope she also land into the Top 5 for Best Supporting! I also like Fala in GW. She somehow surpassed Linda inside. 🙂

  • Charlynn says:

I like Can’t Buy Me Love not because im Charmaine or Moses Fan.Even if im not i will still like the seris because it very meaning. It teach u about life and family. Some of u think it boring. But to me it meaning a million. All the teaching like love your brother and sister.Friends and other people could betray u but family member will always love, care and support u no matter what u do.Love you husband and wife.Right now i see there are lots of people that are divorcing.I think it is a bad thing to do because as husband and wife u must love each other and have forgiveness.Treasure ur love person because u never know when u are going to lose them.It not only funny but it is full of meaningful words.Im only 12 years old i have learn alot from this seris and other tvb seris.CBML teach me alot.I have never saw my whole family sat down and watch T.V together before. This is there first time watching CBML.I have never saw my mom or dad or brother or sister laugh together with me.Cause they are always working.I want to Thank TVB,CBML cast for bring my family together for once.

  • Charlynn says:

I LOVE TVB.AND FOREVER WILL SUPPORT TVB!!

  • Engsamnang says:

This is one of most misunderstandable nomination i see! Do it need rating to nominate? It obviously dramatic as what genre it is for sister of pearls. This series is far my most favourite drama (along with no regret). Infact, this booast numerous strong cast with a lot of breakthrough such as bowie lam, joan etc. I don’t know why they nominate sharon chan and kate tsui for best actress and supporting actress while christine ngy and kingdom yuen deserve more with their powerful acting to save the worst rating drama.

  • ani says:

support charmaine sheh and raymond lam forever

  • kemarabuth says:

I support the best actress sheren tang and the best actor Wayne Lai. I always support No regrets is the best series.

  • Natalie says:

i prefer ”no regrets” than ”can’t buy me love” to won the best series for 2010..
i prefer ”no regrets” too won not bcoz i’m wayne and sheren’s fan..”can’t but me love” this movie was not so interesting but ”no regrets” this movie was so interesting coz it’s talks about war time n many more..so sad the movie but i enjoy watching it…
i’m so disappointed with it coz ”can’t buy me love” won the best series for 2010…
    everyone was so disappointed… 🙁
