TVB’s 41st Anniversary Awards is fast approaching (19th November) and it’s that time of the year again! I can’t believe how fast time flies! 0_0!
The Nomination list is out!! I’m a bit shocked and a little disappointed by some of the nominations actually. Nevertheless, I’ve ticked the ones below which I prefer amongst the Nominees. There are series I have not watched though (such include: Building Blocks of Life, Best Selling Secrets, The Gentle Crackdown 2, Wasabi Mon Amour, DIE, Silver Chambers of Sorrow, Money Making Recipe, The Four, Last One Standing)Â so it is a little bias. Who would you vote for top 5?

A very hard choice! ><I like a lot of female characters. I couldn’t cut them down to three lol I also really liked Melissa Ng from the Master of Taichi..and I’m surprised Tavia isn’t even on this list for MR. I’m glad Linda is nominated for her role in Legend of Demigods instead of MR!

This one is a little strange XD I’m surprised the two boys from Your Class or Mine are in it. I voted for Johnson Lee because I really liked his role in Catch Me Now. I nominated Wayne for his role in MR, even though it’s for his role in The Gentle Crackdown 2 which I didn’t watch. Oh, Grandpa from MR, and Derek from Wars of In-Laws2 were pretty neat too.

I think Tavia definitely deserves this award for her performance in Moonlight Resonance =) But why is she still in the Most Improved category? She has won the Most Improved long before Linda and Kate and they’re competiting for Best Actress Awards…I feel that this award should be more for the newbies. I think Elaine Yiu should also have been nominated instead of Toby -_- She has improved a lot since her return to TVB and I think she deserves a mention at least!

I thought The Gem of Life was going to be included in this year’s Anniversary Awards, if not MR faces one less competition! I think it’s more fair if Gem of Life will be in next year’s one since we won’t be able to finish even half the series by then! It is possible that the nomination list might change for additional nominees.

Tavia’s name shouldn’t appear on the Most Improved Actress because she won this award years ago….and she’s still improving? It’s an insult to her! Even herself thinks that it’s weird….

tvb are so mean to tavia…why is she on the most improved actress category? You’d think they would nominate people like natalie tong, koni lui, elaine yiu etc. instead because tavia got the award years ago =.= i hope tavia gets the best supporting actress award but then she’s up against lee heung kam…it’s going to be tough!
Enough ranting…I am happy for Johnson though =D I hope he at least gets one award…preferably best supporting actor because he really deserves it. He did great portraying BT =D

Y is Tavia still considered as a supporting actress? She’s won the award before and also, shes had lead roles. So disappointing. How do the nominations work? IMO, Tavia plays her roles really well. Im not one to normally contribute to discussions etc but Im sooo disappointed. IMO, I think its only fair for Tavia for be in best character or just best actress.

I seriously was outraged when I saw the list. I dont mind the male list but the female list was so wrong. First of all if Tavia doesnt get nominated for Best Actress I understand that but for not being nominated for Favorite female and get nominated for best supporting and most improved what the heck. I think they should kick linda and kate name of best actress and favorite female so Tavia should be on it. My hope of fungyi winning the same award together is demolished thanks to TVB. I think I will skip the award ceremony this yr
If MR swap all the awards. It would be very disappointing. As I watched HOG is not as good as Drive of Life. Drive of Life has better value in the storyline.
super HAPPY that NANCY WU is on the most improve actress and best supporting actress, hoping that she will win this year with all her hard work. even though Tavia is 1st and Selena is 2nd, i still think that Nancy improvements were a lot better than Selena. & her supporting character role in TSCOS was quite a memory.
& on top of that, Best Actress, i seriously don’t think LINDA & KATE should be on there. how many series have the done? & how much of improvements was shown? i seriously think they should get drop off.
Thanks for the poll, K! Michelle did a great job in MR. Hope they would be able to break tradition and let the villain win Best Actress! As for Best Actor, I think Ray’s a shoo-in already, but honestly, I think Ha Yu did the better job. And why is Ron on Favorite male character from The Four?? Sammul’s character deserves that spot definitely. Crossing my fingers for Tavia as best supporting, though I can see Fala being a competitor, but both of them deserve the spot. As for Most improved, really hoping it would be Selena Li, although I can see Tavia will probably win this – I wonder what her winning speech would be though….â€um…thanking for noting that I am most improved many years after I won this award†lol
I mostly like MR based on Raymond Lam’s character as 管家仔. He’s a flawless character, almost like ideal boyfriend. Hahaha~~ just kidding. I am really expecting him to nominate THE BEST MALE LEADING ROLE
I love MR. I don’t usually watch TVB series FAITHFULLY unless it’s really good! AND MR is one of the REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD ONES! I usually can wait to watch the series, but I’m DYING HERE! My aunt has the last DVD/CD thingy, so there’s like 10 more episodes for me, BUT I CAN’T WAIT!!! I just love this show!
Anyways, I was kinda disappointed to see Michelle Yim in lead (even though I did vote for her), but I voted for Louisa Lee too!!! I thought, since Michelle’s character’s so evil, no one would vote for her! GRR! Alright, I hope Louisa Lee wins, no offense. I know Michelle’s performance was so scary. She seemed so good and nice in HOG and then in MR she’s so evil! But, Louisa is a great actress, when she’s crying and esp. when she’s yelling at ppl, it’s like Hor Ma is FOR REAL!!! I think she played Hor Ma so well, at times I cried watching her emotions.
Best Actor would be RAYMOND! B/c he worked hard for it! I wanted to choose Moses, but he won last year.
I can’t believe Tavia is on the Most improved again! I want her to win best supporting actress. Even though, she deserves best actress, she’s not really the lead in MR. I hope TVB will give her a role next year as lead and then she can win best actress.

Okay. Here are my thoughts on the nominees. I am a Linda fan, so I’m just saying the truth of what I think.
I don’t think Linda should be a nominee for best actress. It’s only been 4 years of her acting career, and even though she improved a lot, she is still “Mei Gao Ban”. I mean, she’s on top of Tavia and Myolie now??
I didn’t give my votes to her. I’m sorry Linda, but I think you still need a few more years until you can reach that level.
I was hoping tavia to win a best actress award.I mean after so many series of her, her acting is consistent throughout.Her scenes nvr fails to moves me.Come on, moses and raymond can be on the nominated male actor list, why cant tavia..i mean her scene shots are not at all less than them.It’s really disappointing to see such a nominated list!
There were many good series this year! I have so many favorites!! I hope Raymond lam wins the best actor because he worked so hard for it. Tavia Leung did extremely well, hope she wins the best support.

this drama…Sammul is better than Ron a lot…maybe Sammul is not listed because he is not signed fully to TVB contract..pity him! he should deserved an award..his acting is great too and he did acted in a lot of series!

I think kevin should win it one more time. His protrayal in Last One Standing is just good. Much better than when he won the best actor award for under the canopy of life. Sadly most probably it will go to someone from moonlight resonance. What to do? that show’s viewership is too high and it may make a clean sweep in this year tvb’s award.
