Despite her love for KAN, CHING cannot decline the Emperor’s offer and finally agrees to marry KAT. The lovelorn KAN lingers at the brothel day and night, leading himself to get caught up in a murder. CHING tries to save KAN but in vain. Luckily KAT offers to help and manages to pull KAN out of the trouble. CHING has got a different impression of KAT and the incident has once again reminded KAT of the curse and the potential danger of getting involved in any kinds of lawsuits. KAT gets framed later on and CHING is left to deal with the case all on her own. To everyone’s surprise, the curse has now been shifted on to KAT…

I’m currently up to episode 10 of The Ultimate Crime Fighter and I’m enjoying it heaps! I am really liking both series that are currently airing (the other being Men Don’t Cry) I’m looking forward to watching more! (too bad exams are coming up soon so will need to spend more time studying. Its even more annoying now after Day-light-savings, TVBJ Australia rearranged the schedule, changing the time of Virtues of Harmony which is usually before Men Don’t Cry to another time, and making Men Don’t Cry start at 7pm instead of 7:10pm yet ending at the same time…now the TV commercials are way more longer. *not happy -_-*)

The first 4 episodes have been awesome! I totally love the first case, the mystery, the introduction of the main characters, character interaction and them getting to know each other and h’m particularly impressed by Moses! I’m already in love with his character hahaha.. as a police and undercover =3 Episode 4 has been the best episode in terms of action and I hope to see more action soon!

Since the first case closed, the episodes up until now have mainly been focusing on Gigi and Moses’ relationship and development. There are HEAPS of Moses and Gigi scenes..so for those who love this couple, you’d be very pleased. I have picked out a few personal favourites to share ^^

Episode 2

I just loved Moses’ expressions. Their lift incident is cute. Their height difference is even cuter XD The lift is squishy with lots of people and when Moses reaches his hands into his pocket to get a tissue out, Gigi thinks he is a pervert and wanted to touch her butt, making a scene.

Episode 3

One of the evil guys is harassing Gigi at her door, trying to take her somewhere (I believe trying to lure her into joining that religion) Gigi hesitates and tries to come up with excuses but he keeps on going. Moses see and comes into, pretending to be Gigi’s boyfriend to protect her XD CUTE!

Episode 6

I love the way Moses ‘acts’ and Gigi actually gets scared of him. He seems like playing with her by giving her wrong ideas XD He just wants to offer her a drink ^^;

Episode 7

I love the way Moses cares for Gigi and is being so nice to her (even though he says he’s doing it for Ada (Fala))

A fire breaks out and moses takes Gigi to escape. I thought the two looked cute because Gigi was in a wedding gown and it looked like so run-away bride ^^; Gigi injures her leg and Moses carries her down the stairs. The two sit outside in the cold and Moses gives his jacket to her. Seeing that Gigi was still cold, he sits closer to her and hugs her awwwwwwww!! Too sweet!! Seriously..what girl wouldn’t get the wrong idea?? Any girl would fall for him XD

I love Moses’ concerned face ^^;

[Men Don’t Cry] Episode 11

Another cute episode with more Dayo and Cecilia moments ^^ (I have removed a lot of detail below concerning other parts of the storyline~ you must see for yourself ^^)

Vivien offers to search for Dayo’s real father with him, but Cecilia gets worried that he might do something to her sister so she goes with him instead. On the way, the two fall into a hole (trap set by Benz) and Cecila injures her ankle when she falls. (She claims its because he didn’t catch her when she fell)

The two end up returning home (as Benz has planned) and he piggy-backs her. On the way when he thought someone saw them, he instantly threw her onto the ground and looked away. It turns out the man was blind XD then he continues carrying her again. He didn’t want other people to see him going good deeds for ‘no reason’. When Dayo is deceived by Benz, in making him think that Benz is his real father, Dayo couldn’t handle the truth ‘no look, no intelligence, no money….etc’ and gets himself drunk. Cecilia saw and kept following him to make sure he was ok. When he collapses, Cecilia takes him back to his home (Wong Fei Hong’s place) and even makes soup for him to drink when he wakes up. <3

Once again, Cecilia’s family as helped arrange and set up for her to meet another ‘potential’ man and she becomes angry when she realised that was the reason they “dressed’ her up. I have to say she looked horrible..her family must have really bad taste in colour and clothing. She leaves the restaurant and the people on the streets make rude remarks and start mocking her, laughing at how ridiculous she looked. They was so rude and slack to her! Not being able to walk on heels properly, she falls over and part of her dress rips, but the people continue to laugh. Dayo sees and sticks up for her. You can tell that Dayo was thankful for the way Cecila had took care of him when he was drunk but didn’t seem to be able to express himself properly. He wanted to cheer her up in that it didn’t matter how she looked, but she was unique for who she was. She shouldn’t care what others think or try to be someone she isn’t. She should like herself and accept who she is and how she looks. However, the words that came out sounded so wrong ( things like “You’re already ugly enough, dressing up like this makes you look worse than you are’ ‘there’s no point in trying to dress up when you’re already so ugly, its like throwing a dead fish back into the ocean”, comparing her to poo etc) and she becomes even more upset and angry, confessing that before she met had him, she was happy about herself, but he had to come along and trash her, making her feel like she’s worth nothing. I thought that was really sad..considering that wasn’t what Dayo meant… and the fact Cecilia didn’t want to dress up as she was wearing.

Especially after the humiliation, Cecila was determined to “sor hei” (become like the 3 women and vow not to marry). After Vivien found out, she rushes to Dayo to ask him for help because she didn’t know what to do and upon hearing, he dashes out to stop her. After struggling to get in to stop Cecilia, Dayo ends up knocking Cecilia over and her mouth is full of blood…some tooth fell out.
At first I had hoped that she would start to look prettier somehow because of the accident, but I saw the preview for the next episode and felt like screaming!! XD

At first I said I wouldn’t make any posts on this series because I didn’t like it, but as I continued to watch more into the story, the story starts to get better..
After watching the first 2 or 3 episodes I wasn’t really impressed by this series. I hated how Dayo’s character kept beating up people. I thought it was rather lame and I couldn’t see how the storyline would be engaging enough for me to keep watching it. It felt like a waste of time. Cecila’s buck-tooth character was indeed ugly to look at, Dayo’s follower was annoying with the croaky voice (doing it deliberately?) The righteous “Wong Fei Hong” is embarrassing too (thinks highly of himself yet acting modest). Being a comedy, the characters don’t die that easily, namely Benz who seems to live after all that he’s been through. Most of the main casts are ‘old’ , but playing ‘young’ roles makes it look weirder. I felt sorry for buck-tooth Cecila because her family didn’t like her, nor really welcomed her return. Her god-mother treater her nicer, but I didn’t really like watching the 3 old women (wearing black)…the three didn’t seem that needed in the series.

Wong Fei Hong is supposed to be a great marital artist! There are so many scenes where he could have stopped Dayo from doing the bad things but he doesn’t. The competition in episode 2 was annoying too considering I believe his martial arts skills should be able to get back his father’s death-thing easily.
Nevertheless, this series picks up and did bring lots of laughs (it was more enjoyable than Heavenly-in-laws) and I guess watching an idiot being a protagonist is somewhat interesting because I’m looking forward to him “turning good” (hope it happens *crossed fingers*) The story actually gets better…Dayo is also a pretty good actor~
I think its because Dayo is the protagonist which leaves me having mixed feelings about his character. When he is being SO EVIL, doing all those bad things I hate him so much I want him to get beaten up etc. But when he does become vulnerable and weak and the other people gang up on him I feel so sorry for him! Usually he doesn’t seem as bad anymore even though he probably deserved it for all that he’s done to others..His character’s power goes in cycles! One moment he is evil and has all the power where everyone is scared of him, then the next he goes down and weak etc..
So far my two favorite episodes were episode 5 and 9! They were actually very good…we get to see a different side to the evil Kin (Dayo).

Up to episode 5, Dayo was trying to make Cecila fall in love with him and I enjoyed watching his efforts. Some moments were very cheesy but funny. I liked the whole trapped-in- cave scene where Dayo’s secret is revealed and Cecila learns of Dayo’s past..how and why he became the evil person he is today…No matter how ‘evil’ Dayo was, he would not kill anyone. He just wanted to act tough in front of others to protect his inner insecurities, but what he really wants is to be loved. Even though Dayo was only faking everything, I still thought it was romantic for Cecila’s character. She eventually did for in love with him, but being the evil Kin he is, he uses Cecilla’s feelings and playing along so that he could get hold of Cecila’s god-mother’s precious land rights .and you think Dayo would be moved somehow. He ends up humiliating her in front of everyone. Very..harsh scene.. Later, Cecilia ‘betrays’ Dayo and tells everyone his past/secret.. I call it betrayal because she promised not to tell anyone back then. At that time, I kept thinking ‘poor thing!!!’ even after the thought after the humiliation scene …There were also a lot of ‘awwww’ moments for Dayo’s character and felt sorry for him.

After Dayo’s  character became Wong Fei Hong’s student, I started to ‘like’ his character more. He continued to do bad things and play tricks on people but he wasn’t as bad as before when he was in charge. It is also because he is by-himself now with no gang and his croaky-voiced friend is in jail. The pranks were rather silly, but not-death-threatening. I find it cute how he actually listens to Wong Fei Hong and goes copying those religious books as a punishment at the temple. His ideas of revenge and imagination is quite funny and immature, and he actually spends days trying to dig up a hole in the ground (trap for Wong Fei Hong to fall into)

I thought the relationship Dayo and Vivien had was SO CUTE!! and So SWEET! omg..Dayo is actually nice to her and they become genuine good friends..its amazing..I liked how he shared the chicken with her, how they chatted about things, how he went to buy the toy windmill-like thing for her because she was sad that her one broke! XD He was happily buying it back for her..but those evil bullies had to come and pick on him..stepping on his hat that his mother bought for him and had meant a lot to him. What’s more cute? Dayo actually told Vivien that he was upset, expressing his feelings and she tries to cheer him up =3 awwwww…Vivien isn’t scared of Dayo either and I guess Dayo likes her because she’s sort of like an ‘innocent’ child and cute-looking. When Dayo gets accused of murdering the guy who stepped on Dayo’s hat (which I believe was actually killed by the one the murdered guy was following), Vivien bravely stands up for him as a witness ^^ they share such cute friendship I wished there was more of them XD

In episode 10, Dayo even has lunch with ‘Jenny (Charmaine Li’s character) because he wanted to ask her about finding a cure for Vivien mental disability and eventually helps her recover back to normal =) Now Vivien is back to normal, it isn’t as cute anymore XD

I’m looking forward to watch more of the series~ I think Cecila and Dayo’s chemistry is pretty good and even though Cecila hates Dayo for everything he has done to her, its obvious she still has feelings for him. I wonder how its all going to happen.

I quite liked the final episode, even though it wasn’t hard to predict. The series ended really nicely and there was this whole sense of completion and “family-theme” brought together.

There was also two touching scenes that made my eyes teary. The first one was when Jessica keeled onto the floor and beg her father to give her one more chance to try and change Joe back to a good person.

The other was definitely the scene where Damien confronts Joe, where Damien tells him that he is his son. The scene was very touching and emotional!! I just felt so moved T_T All the crying scenes were done really well and realistic!

There’s not much else I want to add about the ending, except everyone lives happily ever after ^^

-Ron wakes back up after being hospitalised for more than 6 months and ends up with Toby
-Charmaine’s secret of being the one who hit Damien in her car accident comes out, and Raymond forgives her (including the whole family)
-Damien recovers and is able to walk again
-Sheren and Michael get back together
-Jessica ‘betrays’ Joe holding evidence against him, hoping that he would give in to the police himself so that he won’t continue doing wrong things
-Joe’s evil doings are revealed by Daimen but Jessica begs her father to give her 3 hours to try cahnge him good before he reports it.
-Joe finds out and becomes so angry he strangles Jessica and ends up locking her in the house as he dashes off in attempt to sell off the Wah Jit shares so Damien can’t have it.
-Daimen, and his brothers confront Joe and Damien’s words move Joe
-Joe turns back into a good person and the family forgives him
-Jessica gives birth to their baby and she waits for Joe to come out of jail
-Damien and his brother are back at ‘Wah Jit’ and they pass on their positions to Raymond and Feng Shao Feng
-Their car company and their cars continues to expand all over the world..their Wah family dream has become a reality.

Series overall?

A grand series indeed! I enjoyed watching this series over the last 3 months. I loved all the character development in this series, its amazingly realistic and there was a smooth transition. All the characters changed so much, but at the end they all changed for the better which I really like. However, there were some episodes where not much had happened which was a bit disappointing, while some few episodes were exciting and fast paced. I wasn’t really interested in the car manufacturing stuff though which makes the story a bit slow paced I guess.

Recommend?

If you’re looking for a neat face-paced, exciting series, The Drive of Life isn’t for you. Its definitely not a funny series and picks up quite slowly. However, if you don’t mind a longer series, that is meaningful and explores into many characters and family themes then you should watch this series!

Screenies of two scenes from Episode 57! I don’t think they’ll be anymore focus on these two characters considering the series is coming towards an end. Nevertheless, there they are!

~~~
Myolie and Feng’s wedding shots.There was no talking in this scene, but just a few shots in music to show passing of time, including what the other characters have been doing for 6 months. Of course, Raymond and Charmaine were also at the ceremony =)
Doesn’t Myolie look so cute in the first shot below? XD
This scene was a little odd, namely these two were just standing there watching Michael and Sheren make up with each other XD Just a bit..strange, and ..random?
The first capture of a Myolie and Feng Shao Feng moment, and it is in Episode 52 where the two get-together XD I was hoping to spot some scenes (leading up to this) to capture but I didn’t find any other ones that really caught my attention.
Their relationship
After Myolie left Raymond, she moved to Beijing to work so Feng was always there to look over her as requested from Myolie’s family and as a friend. Feng was also the person she turned to before the break-up with Raymond where she told him about finding out the truth about Charmaine’s baby and whether or not to tell Raymond. Feng was there for Myolie, supporting her through hard times (like when Myolie found out Raymond and Charmaine were getting married) and cheering her up. Feng later suffered a similar situation when he found out that his girlfriend who went to study aboard had found another lover, and so Myolie was there for him in return to pull him through… And so I guess it was this support for each other, and the time spent that eventually led to them developing feelings towards each other. Eventually, both of them were able to put the past behind them.
It sounds a bit ordinary (TVB-style), but I felt it was realistic which is why I quite liked the two together. It was more natural.
Feng’s ex-girlfriend returns to Beijing with her boyfriend to announce that they will be getting married~ At the wedding ceremony, Myolie ends up catches the Bouquet.
Scene After the wedding..
Feng: Tonight was such a joyful night
Myolie: I reckon the one who was the happiest was my father. It’s like as if his own daughter was getting married, constantly going around and drinking with everyone. The fourth meal didn’t come out yet and he was already drunk. But luckily you were there, if not, I don’t know who would help carry him back to the hotel. Thanks.
Feng: It was nothing. Actually, I should be thanking you.
Myolie: Thanking me for what?
Feng: Thank you for helping me through all this period of time. You’ve helped me with the marketing of “Wai Jit” (their Car manufacturing business), helped me understand things and cheered me up. Thank you.
Myolie: We be both know each other so well, we should be helping out one another.
Feng: Come to “Wah Jit” and help me out. That way, I can have another supporting spirit. I’m serious. During this time I’ve been with you, I feel that everything has become more stable. I think that we would be very compatible.
Myolie becomes shy and quietly tells him that they can talk about these kind of things later.
She walks off ahead herself and Feng calls out to her.
Myolie: Actually, its really late now, you don’t have to walk me home. I’ll go back home myself, bye!
As she waves, the roses from the Bouquet fall onto the floor. Without much thought, Feng dashes out onto the road to pick them up for her where he almost gets run over by a motorcycle.
Myolie: Are you ok!? Are you hurt?
Feng: I thought the flowers meant a lot to you, so I went to pick them up for you.
Myolie: Are you crazy..its just flowers…what happens if you get run over by a car..?
Feng: I hope that we can be together. Let me look after you..
One of the most exciting episodes..
‘Ngai Tin Hung’ has turned into a good person with the support from Sheren, knowing he doesn’t have many days left because of his cancer, Charmaine (to some extent), his brother and sister-in-law (played by Benz Hui and mary Hon) and most importantly, the Wah brothers’ dream of China’s own automobile has finally touched him. He leaves his will to Charmaine to manage where a large substantial amount is distributed into “Wah Jit” so that his name can be remembered forever..one that will make a large contribution to making China’s ‘dream’ a reality.
The main purpose he wanted Charmaine to be managing it was because he trusted her because they were the ‘same type’ of people and he wanted to help Charmaine and the Wah family resolve all the problems between them so she can be accepted into the family and be with Raymond. Unfortunately, shortly after the will was written and during his confrontation with Joe (knowing Joe was a big threat to Charmaine), ‘Nagi Tin Hung’ dies..
The court cases with Joe Vs. Charmaine were so exciting!!! I hated Joe’s character so much!! Joe ends up making a fake will, claiming that his Uncle (‘Ngai Ting Hung’) changed his will the moment before his death, making him the person managing the funds. I can’t believe Ngai Ting Hung was so careless to sign a blank of paper back then!! He is such an intelligent business person yet negligent in this respect.
The Wah family are attacking Charmaine..especially Raymond’s mother. Its understandable that Raymond’s mother hates Charmaine and is on Joe’s side because of everything she did in the past, but it’s frustrating to see everyone so manipulated and blinded by Joe..especially Jessica.
To let Charmaine know that he is always there for her, supporting her through the court case, (and wanting to give her the title) Raymond proposes to Charmaine and the two get married in episode 48. Its sorta sad that not many people got to witness their wedding, but I guess its best this way considering what she in the last wedding. I don’t think Charmaine will turn bad anymore… I don’t hate Charmaine’s character anymore either. Poor thing! I’m really happy that Raymond and Sheren are there supporting her, and Damien did turn up to their wedding. Raymond’s mum (Gigi Wong) and sister (Jessica) would probably regret not going to their wedding..
Sheren and Michael’s character have both changed so much throughout the series and both of them learned to trust and respect one another..the unconditional love and understanding they shared. I loved the relationship they had , and it was almost ruined because of the court case.
Joe continued to do so many dirty tricks to try to force Charmaine to give up. He messes with Michael’s mind and trust for Sheren, lies to his parents to get them to give false evidence in court- knowing they were likely to say the wrong thing, he sets them up to leave Hong Kong, and accuses Charmaine of threatening his witnesses. He uses all the bad things Charmaine did in the past (when taking revenge on the Wah family) against her. He sacrifices the interest of ‘Wah Jit’ by putting them into large debts and high risks of liquidation/collapse of the whole company, then going away to waste time, waiting for the company to collapse to force Charmaine to give up, so that they could use Ngai Tin Hung’s money to save the company.
Just when Charmaine found evidence against him (an email about him paying another worker to stuff-up the company), Joe knocks her unconscious, taking away the evidence and stabbing a blade into the wheel of her car. When Charmaine gets up, she chases Joe in her car where the blade gets knocked off and her car to get out of control! The breaks weren’t working and her car crashes into Damien in the process and he falls down the stairs and becomes disabled!! Very tragic..and sad..
I thought Raymond would find out that it was Charmaine who crashed his father and that more problems would arise in their relationship but it didn’t happen. Damien knew Charmaine didn’t mean to so he didn’t blame her..Charmaine felt so guilty that she went to take care of him in the hospital everyday. I guess eventually, Damien’s wife and Jessica saw Charmaine genuinely cared and looked after him that they began to forgive her. Charmaine and Damien end up working out an agreement to resolve the problem out of court, by mutually agreeing with Joe (haha, not that he wanted to but he couldn’t get out making himself look bad if he didn’t agree) to give the management role to Damien and his two brothers and the company was saved…
