The long awaited Forensic Heroes 2 is finally here ^^

I like how the opening theme video has resemblances to the original opening of Forensic Heroes although I still like the prequel’s theme video and themesong more =) The chorus is quite catchy and I like how they show the groups together (looking like it was filmed just for the opening)…all the victims and then finally the group of Forensics at the end~ It really shows the groups being split back into their respective groups.

I quite enjoyed the first episode mainly from seeing the entire cast from the prequel! It feels so awesome being able to see all the characters from the original and that it actually continues on, compared to a lot of the other sequels TVB has been producing recently.

It does sadden me to the change in focus from Yoyo’s character to Charmaine though…

Warning: Ending Spoiler!! [All my posts contain spoilers, but this is the ending, so an extra warning message ^__^]

Last night I finished watching the final episode for Catch Ne Now and I have to say I was quite impressed with the episode. The episode kept its action and suspense throughout and I was sitting on the edge of my seat!

Damien (Jack) decided to lure out Evergreen once and for all by asking his lawyer friend who networked with various people, to nominate and give an award to him for his contributions to charity/society. After long hiding, Evergreen decided to accept the challenge to appear for the award and use this opportunity to get rid of Jack …

Joe’s duty was to stop Evergreen and Damien from killing each other and when Fala knew, she didn’t want Joe involved in the case because she was worried he may get killed in the process. Fala ends up lying to Joe that she was pregnant, giving him additional burden in hope he would let go of his duties and spend more time with her; for her and their baby.

On the other hand, Idy tried to convince Damien not to seek revenge but she knew he wouldn’t…He arranged for her and her son to move over to New Zealand first and that he’ll join her shortly, but she said she would stay by his side and travel to New Zealand with him. Knowing he would be in danger, Idy tells Damien that she wants to marry him.

[A talk between Damien and Keyman]

Keyman: She openly said she wants to get married, what are you going to do?
Jack: Sometimes I think she’s really clever. She gave me a very difficult problem.
Keyman: She knows you’re a man who values and is responsible in a relationship. For her to suggest, is hoping you’ll have something to worry about, so you can put down your revenge.
Jack: If I put down revenge, you think I can face BT?
Keyman: But if you don’t marry her, you’ll hurt her.
Jack: If I get married with her, if something happens to me, I would ”ruin” her.
Keyman: Hard choice between love and friendship is like this. But before you make a decision, I’ll tell you something. When my wife found out I was a thief and I needed to take risks, the first thing she did..
Jack: Was wanting to marry you?
Keyman: *nods* Her way of saying it was, if something did happen to me, at least we did become a married couple, better than not having that fate and regretting it.
Jack: Sometimes I do feel that love is so significant.
Keyman: For “Ah-so” (sister-in-law) to do that is really hard. She feels that this type of request is a method or whatever, even at this time she is willing to marry you, there’s only one reason and that’s because she truly loves you.
Jack: Ever since something happened to my first girlfriend, I already decided to be single…but I don’t know why, I don’t know why, or when, I developed feelings for Yung Yung (Idy).
Keyman: If you could understand, you wouldn’t be so troubled.

After much consideration, Damien proposes to Idy =)

Damien: Marry me. I want to grow old with you.

Idy: Are you serious? *Damien nods* Then you’re proposing to me?Aren’t you going to take revenge for Ben? You’re willing to give up for me?
Damien: I thought for a long time. I don’t want you to be unhappy. I feel that I should give you a title. Ben’s issue, I have decided to let Joe handle it. I finished saying what I wanted..are you still willing to marry me?
Idy: *nods* I waited this long, just for this day to come. =)

Damien and Idy get married.

Damien lies, saying he would put down his revenge for BT and go to New Zealand to start their new life together..

Idy: What do you think we’d be like when we get older?
Damien: Like other grannies and grandpa’s, sitting by the wharf, dating and watching the sunset.
Idy: So romantic.. I never imagined myself to have such happiness.

Just before the plane lifts off, Damien leaves the plane. ..

He gets stopped by Joe and taken back to the police station and tried to keep him there until the end of the award ceremony.

Damien ends up getting his lawyer friend to talk to the head and bail him out because they could be sued for misusing their power for confining him (for no practical reason). After that, Joe receives a call from Fala who realises she really has his baby. She calls him to go find her (somewhere far away), saying something has happened. Worried for his wife, Joe leaves to find her. When Fala started telling him she was really pregnant, Joe didn’t believe her as Sharon had already told him the pregnancy test previously did not belong to her. In midst of anger and desperation to get back to the crime scene, he pushes Fala out of his way who falls, then finally realises she was telling the truth.

As they wait for the rescuers to come, Joe wants to make Fala lose her worries and starts asking whether they wanted it to be a boy or a girl..when Fala asked Joe what kind of child he would like him/her to grow up into, Joe replied:

“He doesn’t have to be rich, or smart. I just want him to be a righteous person who is responsible in society ”

It was then Fala has realised she shouldn’t stop Joe from being the righteous man he wants to be and tells him to go back to his duty as a police and that she’ll be ok ^^ The people arrive and the baby was confirmed to be ok =)

Damien meets up with his team and together (with help with Madracer), they put fake dummies into the car and automated it, so when Evergreen and his men activates the bomb, the car explodes and they think the whole team has been killed.

At the scene, the thief team successfully enters the awards ceremony and during a magic show on stage where they invited Evergreen to be part other performance, they successfully capture him. Joe realises what has happened and chases after them. Long Leg Crab and Keyman were holding off Joe while Damien escapes with Evergreen as hostage. Unfortunately, Evergreen’s men were already surrounding the car park lot and Damien loses grip of him. The police also arrive creating a shooting scene. At the end, Damien and Evergreen were at each other alone themselves and shot numerous times almost by their faces!

Damien: Jill Gwan Ho, you killed Ben, you won’t get away from it! You know I won’t let you off it!
Evergreen: You have a big life, I’ve killed you several times and you still survived. Not only your cousin, I’ve also killed Alex. Whoever gets in my way will get killed!
Damien: Kill me and you won’t get away with it!
Evergreen: You are the one who is holding my hostage, killing you is only defense. If I kill someone, it’s only protecting myself. I, Jill Gwan Ho have so much money, even if I do kill you, I have so much money I will find the top lawyer to help me get out of it! That’s how unfair this world is! The law protects rich people! You poor person! Ko-Jit, you can’t defeat me!
*Damien starts smiling and looks down at Evergreen’s pocket* What are you smiling at? You crazy? *Evergreen looks down at his pocket*
Damien: Everything that you have just said has been broadcasted through this wireless microphone! Not only at the charity event, but the audience from all over Hong Kong has jsut heard what you just said! Do you think there’s justice?

I thought this part was so awesome !! 😀 Damien managed to lure Evergreen into admitting all the bad things he has done, and uncovered his true ugly self to everyone , with his words being broadcasted~ Jack so smart!!

Joe arrives with Idy and Evergreen ‘s father who tries to persuade them to put their guns down. The other police arrive and they were surrounded. The two are slowly convinced by their loved ones to give in, however, Evergreen decided it was too late and attempts to shoot Damien! Evergreen’s father saw and attempted to block/protect Damien and Damien himself attempted to move Evergreen’s father out of the way but it was too late. Evergreen’s father gets shot by his own son, Joe shoots Evergreen, and through the chaos, another police shoots Damien …Jack/Damien ends up getting killed…

[1 Year later] the rest of the narration is told by Idy..

*She decided to stay in Hong Kong to continue to help run his business and constantly move between Hong Kong and visiting her son in New Zealand.
*Long leg Crab, Madracer and Keyman have started a new life in NewZealand, and are unable to return to Hong Kong.
*Before Evergreen died, he donated his organ to his father, so his father survived. Evergreen’s father decided to give in to the police by admitting the crime he did 25 years ago when he killed Damien’s parents in the fire.
*Sharon continues to run BT’s business and it has become very successful.
*In the final scene, Idy is watching the sunset ..

Damien is by her side and tells her that he’ll always be there looking over her…

THE END

Alternate ending:

In the gun scene, Jack doesn’t die because Evergreen is shot by Joe before he gets the chance to shoot. Instead of dying, Jack gets arrested and goes to jail.

(Idy gives the same final speech to Damien as the original before he dies/before he gets arrested) In the final scene where Idy is watching the sunset, Jack appears (released from jail) and the two hug each other.

Thoughts on the Endings. (The part where the alternate ending continues..)

I actually prefer the original ending over the alternate. Or maybe its the fact I’ve seen the original and then the alternate and can see how Idy uses the same speech for Damien when he was dying or going to jail~ it sounds a bit like a joke. It doesn’t seem that appropriate for her to be saying the same thing to someone who is dying or going to jail. I guess I can’t really take the fact Jack has to go to jail =( I don’t want Jack to go to jail because I believe he shouldn’t, I still feel its unfair he has to go to jail…if someone was to go to jail it should be Evergreen. In that respect, I would rather like Jack die, the consequence of being a thief is the dangerous situation and risk he had to take, rather than being imprisoned. Does anyone get what I mean or am I just rambling on? :P) Yes, I understand he is a thief, good one or bad and should be punished, its just a preference thing I guess for Jack’s case. it’s cooler for him to die in action than..yeh..lol My thoughts anyway.

The main difference I guess is Idy at the end. In the original she looks sad watching the sunset alone, while in the alternate she is happy because Damien is by her side. Which ending do you prefer?

Comment: I believe this is the sequel to The family link o_o Or some sort of adaption of it. I’m actually not very impressed and not looking forward to the series. I didn’t enjoy The family Link very much, the cast here doesn’t really appeal to me either and the synopsis sounds really bland. I think I might just skip this series …

[Catch Me Now] Episode 19

Last night I finished watching episode 19 of Catch Me Now. One more episode left to watch..I hope the ending will be satisfying…

*contains major spoilers* Read the rest of this entry »

This is a poll I had up on the sidebar previously (and quite awhile ago) so I’ve decided to take it down and put it on a post on its own.

The two series do not have much in common and was merely compared because they were both airred during the same month in Hong Kong.

[poll id=”6″]

The poll does not in any way reflect how I feel about the series. It’s quite the opposite actually XD For me, The Master of Taichi is truly an awesome series while The Seventh day is a major disappointment and a series that I could have easily passed.

[The Seventh Day] Episode 16-20

*Final post on The Seventh Day*

I finally finished this series! Actually it’s been a while since I’ve finished it (end of March) but haven’t had the time to post it up! Sad to say but I was actually waiting for the series to end…I expected the story to be a lot more touching and that the final episodes would really “move” me as many have reassured. Thus I kept watching on, until I reached the end and didn’t feel much. I was quite disappointed and felt the ratings reflected how I felt: a very average series that could be easily forgotten. The story is very cliche and ordinary. Was it really that tragic? The leading casts may be an eye candy but that’s about it. I’ve spent 20 episodes watching 2 couples fall in love with each other, and watching them “love each other”. If Korean dramas are really like this, then maybe Korean dramas really isn’t my thing. Nevertheless, there were some scenes I liked which will be discussed as follows.

I think from episode 16-18, Bosco and Natalies’ relationship developed nicely. Their scenes were cute..Bosco and Natalie don’t seem to mind talking about their relationship with others. Natalie openly tells the people who were reading through a magazine that Bosco was her Boyfriend before “Don’t you think we match?” while when Bosco saw his colleague reading Natalie’s comic, he proudly tells him that he was actually the guy in the book =) I guess this comes to show they treasured the relationship and is happy that it happened, even though they can’t be together now. It‘s no longer a big deal~

More cute moments~ Natalie planned to travel to Japan and Bosco didn’t want her to leave. The group decided to have a farewell party for her and when Bosco was buying a present for her, he knows she will like a certain teddy bear, even her friend ‘Jessie’ didn’t understand/know Natalie as much as he did. When the gang were playing ‘Spin the Bottle’ (where they had to answer any questions asked) Bosco deliberately asks her if she had to leave? Bosco was indirectly telling Natalie that he doesn’t want her to go =3..so cute…xD When the two get paired up to buy drinks, it starts to rain and he uses his jacket to shelter the two~ the two were about to kiss but Bosco drops his jacket XD They know they have feelings for each other, but were holding back because of ‘Jessie’ who Bosco was already dating.

On the day Natalie had to leave, she deliberately pretended she couldn’t catch a taxi, hoping Bosco would stop by and send her off. The airport scene was really sweet! He hugged onto her and told her not to go <3 Unfortunately she does leave..

Out of all this though, I was really annoyed that Bosco had left “Jessie” hanging while he started pursuing Natalie. At first he saw that Jessie was a nice girl and did many things for him, so decided to give her a chance and the two started dating. However, when he realised the one he loved was Natalie, he should have broken off the relationship instead of two-timing! That’s so unfair to Jessie. He should have made it clear to her instead of lying to her, even keeping her hopes up when he was about to go to Japan and find Natalie by bribing his dad and sister to help him. I did find it entertaining to watch how Bosco tried to contact Natalie and get away from Jessie~ though I don’t like Jessie either because she was selfish… She saw the message Bosco had left Natalie and she deleted it. I’m not saying I prefer Bosco with “Jessie” than Natalie, but I didn’t like how Bosco was cheating on her. I think that ruined it for me.

When Bosco found Natalie in Japan, he lied to her that he came alone to find her, making Natalie think that he had already broke up with Jessie. In the cold at the bus stop, the two kiss each other and got back together. Disaster was approaching ><Bosco and Natalie slept with each other where Jessie appears in front of Natalie’s door the next morning.

A confrontation scene occurs, where two hearts are broken. I really hated how Bosco handled the situation. After this moment, I didn’t like Bosco and Natalie’s relationship because it felt so messy. I don’t like the whole “get back together because of the baby problem” that almost occurs in every TVB series.

Months past and Bosco finally finds Natalie who has been avoiding him etc. When he realises she was pregnant with his child, he tries to find ways for her to accept him. At the end, Natalie gives birth and Bosco manages to move Natalie and she forgives him.

As for Kevin and Niki’s scenes, I didn’t find much that was special. The break-up scene between them was quite sad though, watching tears that just kept falling from Niki’s eyes as Kevin tried to explain himself and reassuring her that she was the one most important to him and not Selena. Niki replied with a “I don’t think so”.

I liked episode 17 because I felt sorry for Kevin’s character even more. I can finally feel the love he has for Niki and all the things he tries to do so she would change her mind. However, Niki persistently acted cold towards him. It was really sad watching the two like that. Niki does successfully make Kevin ‘hate’ her but she ends up giving up hope on living because Kevin is no longer in her life. She didn’t want to take the treatments and her heart-broken father couldn’t bare seeing his daughter like that. He ends up telling Kevin the truth and the two end up getting back together. I kind of got bored of the couple after they got back together: they got married, and wanted to have a baby of their own.

It doesn’t make much sense to me that she could still give birth in her condition.. Anyways, watching the two was..very boring. The moment after she gave birth to her baby was sort of touching though. She had to do her operation but she didn’t want to be separated from her baby so soon..the only other part I felt sad was when she was looking at Jack-the dog through her camera phone..

Everything made it seem like Niki would not survive the operation. However, she does and Niki was able to watch her daughter grow up until she was 5 years old. Niki does eventually die from Cancer and Kevin continues on live happily with their daughter..I think thats a nice ending for her, since she did get to spend time with their daughter~

[Catch Me Now] Episode 1-5

I’m actually quite enjoying this series at the moment. The whole idea about the detective and thief is quite fun to watch. I wouldn’t say I loved every moment of it though because there were parts I didn’t find that interesting, for example watching the cop team or Idy Chan’s character and storyline. Joe’s side of the story, whilst develops a background for his story doesn’t interest me as much as the action.

The thing that is drawing me to the series is definitely when there’s action- when the thieves are stealing he “black” things off the real bad guys to help the poor. The Police do not know the thieves are really..like Robin hood ^^;

I also feel that some ways the detective and thief thing reminds me of Death Note =)

The Thieves

Damien Lau as Jack Ko (aka Master Mind)

He is the leader of the Thief gang. Very clever who has the minds of both the cops and the thieves. I really like his character because he looks and acts very cool XD He is calm and handles situations really well, possessing qualities of a true leader. I don’t find his sense of justice twisted at all (It’s different to Kira) and he really is a nice guy. He owns a restaurant “Pirates of the Caribbean”

Johnson Lee as BT (aka Hacker). Damien’s younger cousin. Excellent with hacking into systems, he ranks in top 50 in the world. I really like his character! He’s really funny, uses occasional English and has a sense of humour. Playful~ even his first appearance was running and talking through a video XD He arrives late and starts kissing the guys on the cheeks as an apology lol I also liked how he looked up to Idy’s character as a motherly figure and calls her “GuGu”(a reference to her role in Return of Condor Heroes) He also has a thing for “Mimi” (Anime character) and collects figurines.

Eric Lee as Hao Lo ( aka Mad Racer). His character is likable here too. Even though he tends to be given bad-boy roles, because he has that look, he plays a nice guys here. His driving skills are pro and he role is driving/transportation. His usual occupation is a taxi driver.—

Koni Lui as Long Leg Crab (aka Shooter). Excellent aiming and shooting skill, she uses her beauty to her advantage. She works in the entertainment industry and hopes to become ‘big’ someday. This is the first time I’ve seen her in a TVB. She is the 2nd runner up at the Miss Hong Kong 2006 pageant.

Ai Wai as Keyman (aka Demolition Man). He can break through locks ^^ and I believe he can make bombs (haven’t enticed if he has used it yet). His usual occupation is construction. Very easy going guy and seems to understand the leader the most.

The Thief team at their hideout celebrating their success. (Episode 1)

I really like this group as a team =) They work so well together and teamwork is really the key to their successes; each of them drawing on their own talents and skills in every situation. Of course, they are lead by a very strong leader =) They are all ambitious kind-hearted people with a sense of justice. They share a lot of chemistry through good times, bad times and fun times. I will root for this team!!

The Police

Joe Ma as Gong Yeung. A very determined inspector/cop who believes there is only Black and White in this world, no gray. He is a very good, righteous police and known also to be very good at solving cases. He is determined to capture the Thieves, the ones involved in bank robbery 5 years ago where his master was killed..—

Aimee Chan as NaNa as a CID.I don’t like her character much because she can get annoying. She plays the dumb-ish sort of police and exaggerates a lot. I don’t think she is fit for a police role. Depicted as lively and an ambitious police, she hasn’t proven herselfuseful to the team yet ^^;

This is Aimee’s first TVB Series (she is Miss Hong Kong 2006).

Dickson Lee as Yau Dai Hoi ( CID). Don’t like him lol I hate seeing him on screen lol He has some sort of attitude problem and thinks he’s so good. You can tell he’ll be a character that will look up to Joe eventually though.Can see why I don’t like the police team that much..? ^^;

Other Bits and Pieces…

Idy Chan as Bao Yung Yung

Idy plays a married women who has a son. Her husband cheats on her for another women and the two end up having a divorce. As a regular customer to Damien’s restaurant, Damien seems to look out for her and eventually takes her in when she didn’t know where to go. Later, with the help of Fala, she gets herself a job at the bank.

I’m not liking Idy’s character much, her character is too clumsy (sometimes embarrassing) and her croaky voice is annoying to listen to. Her family matters weren’t that interesting to watch either. It makes me wonder if Daimen has a thing for her or he is just being the nice guy. At times I think he doesn’t, yet at times I think he does. For example, the first time they appeared together, he looks out for her. He tries to find ways to cheer her up. Other times he looks shy and doesn’t seem to want any misunderstandings between them. Perhaps it was a sign and he wanted to deny or hide it. He isn’t young either, perhaps he didn’t have much experience in this area..?

Joe’s Family

Fala plays Joe’s wife and Sharon plays his sister. Fala reminds me so much of her previous roles, espeically A Journey Called Life despite not having the same personality. She looks the same and her acting is quite normal. She loves her husband a lot and works at a bank. I wonder if her character will play more of a role in the series later on..?Sharon is a security guard who also has a sense of justice. (I can see why since their father was also a police) She has a thing for anime figurines too!

Sharon and Johnson become acquainted with each other. (Episode 3)

When the Police Meets the Thief..

Joe moves to live in the same city as Damien. They become acquainted with each other. (Episode 2)

Identity revealed?

Joe and Damien indirectly imply to each other that they know of each other’s identity. (Episode 3)

Joe was trying to looking through Damien’s PDA to see if he was linked to 2 of the thief team members they already identified (Long Leg Crab and Mad Racer) , Damien appears behind him.

Damien: Gong-sir, have you found what you wanted to find yet?
Joe: Can’t find it.
Damien: What are you trying to look for?
Joe: I’m looking for evidence of your criminal doings

So far the story is quite decent, there’s bits of humor here and there between the characters, but the action has still got to be the highlight! I hope the story will get better and better ^^
