Hi everyone!

How are you all? It has been awhile! I’m glad to be back =) My computer crashing has caused a lot of inconvenience for me, and at the end,  I was still not able to recover the screencaps I’ve previously made (and yet to use)…so I guess I’ll have to remake new ones to post up. I’ve also been trying to install my programs back but it doesn’t help that by CD drive is also broken (err…hmm..) I’ve downloaded the Media Player Classic but some ‘thing’ is missing, and any real player files playing on it doesn’t have sound! So if I was to make screencaps, I’d have to rewatch it there and make screencaps with no sound =X Hopefully I can figure something out soon..

On the other note, I have finished watching Forensic Heroes 2, and I shall post something about it sometime. As you can see on the “Currently watching” list on the sidebar, I’ve started on both Speech of Silence and Love Exchange (episode 2), even though Speech hasn’t been that engaging so far. I’m watching it because it’s been put on the 7pm slot on TVBJ Australia *a little disappointed but yeh..*

I’ve also been rewatching Golden Faith (2002) and I’m enjoying it heaps even though its the second time around 🙂 I love watching Gallen and Jessica there <3 I also like Gallen’s brother/sister relationship with Myolie. Such a great series! It’s gonna feel a bit funny watching them as a couple in the upcoming “When a Dog loves a Cat

On top of that, I still have some older TVB series I plan to catch on which I’ve previously skipped  like DIE, The Silver Chambers of Sorrow..and Dayo Wong’s To Catch the Uncatchable (2004) <–this being the one I want to watch most! All thanks to Dayo’s great performance in Men Don’t Cry 😉 and the positive comments. Should be good 😀

Mmm..what else do I have to say..oh yes! The banner lol ahah..yea I hope to change the banner soon ~ Didn’t realise I’ve kept The Master of Taichi one for 4 months now! I’ve always wanted a new banner change but there hasn’t been a TVB series/scene that really inspired me, or I was busy during those times. I would have liked to have ‘Long Leg Crab’ from Catch Me Now, but it’s a bit late now XD Hopefully it’ll be from Love Exchange or the highly anticipated Moonlight Resonance when it is released (Previously referred to as Heart of Greed 2) 🙂

I think the series is getting a little bit better? Hm..not sure lol

Yoyo and Bobby

I’m finding myself more interested in their romance storyline here compared to FH1 because it appears more existent. In FH1, we don’t really get the chance to see Bobby and Yoyo together as a “couple” for long and as FH2 goes on, we see how much Yoyo really means to Bobby even though he previously does not show it.

After Bobby makes another attempt to propose to Yoyo, she agrees ^^!! I felt really happy for Yoyo because her insecurities were no longer there and Yoyo was able to accept her ‘new life’ (and disabilities). She was also able to experience what it was like to be a women who was soon to be married =) Unfortunately, she gets involved in an criminal incident and gets attacked and almost killed!! I thought she was going to die ><…just like Linda did before her wedding- that would have been so tragic and unexpected!! I didn’t want her to die because that would have been so sad!! However, when Yoyo survived, I sort of got disappointed lol I’m happy for the screen time she got though and brings her importance a little higher in the story.

After the resolution of the case, Yoyo decides to go overseas to study at England for almost a year. Their wedding would have to be delayed until she came back ...it really seemed like she was a useless character that TVB doesn’t know what to do with so they got rid of her for a bit. I was disappointed they did that to Yoyo and I was worried whether Bobby and Yoyo’s relationship would change after that. Maybe it will prove their relationship remains strong thereafter. I was relieved to see how much Bobby cared about her and reassured to their fathers that they will get married and have kids lol The departure scenes with the chocolates was very sweet and thoughtful =) Bobby gave Yoyo a jar of chocolate , same amount as the days she will be away for. Each day she would have one so she’ll be reminded of him and when the jar was empty, it was a reminder that she should return back to his side ^^

Charmaine/Kevin/Frankie Love Triangle

Kevin is pursuing Charmaine… I can’t really tell when he started liking her but I guess it was gradual. There were subtle moments where the camera focuses on Kevin looking at Charmaine at a lot. It means something lol The triangle is becoming more obvious with Charmaine sharing scenes/times with both Kevin and Frankie but it feels like Charmaine is leaning more towards Frankie. To me, Frankie seems more of the stable one and the thing he does is more concrete while Kevin tries hard to impress her. Charmaine’s past is revealed and it turns out her fiance and another guy(who she dated for one day) were both killed on her wedding day in England. The guy who she dated for one day was totally obsessed with her and shot her fiance in the head before killing himself. Both Frankie and Charmaine hold someone they value in their heart, each having a token of memory (i.e an engraved pen and shoe-key chain). The two also share a lot of time together during lunch breaks at the top of the building where Charmaine was also somehow a source of inspiration and ideas for Frankie’s stories. Perhaps Madam Mui was turning into Madam Ma?

As for Kevin and Charmaine, the two have a common interest in England since they have both studied abroad there before. In episode 15, Kevin asks Charmaine out to watch a concert together but things didn’t turn out the way he had planned ^^; Frankie drove them and when he mentioned to Kevin how he was asking about a nice cafe to go to afterwards, Kevin was very annoyed that Frankie was (unknowingly?) spilling the beans ^^; Kevin and Charmaine did end up watching the concert but she was too tired to have dinner/cafe afterwards and she kept insisting to pay him back for concert tickets XD

In episode 18, Frankie notices Charmaine had a few coughs so he bought her some cough lollies and wanted to give it to her. However, he sees Charmaine going off in Kevin’s car so ends up giving the lollies through Kevin instead. Kevin takes her to watch the sunset while drinking coffee and sharing his hand-made cookies. Charmaine was really impressed that he was able to offer what she wanted in such a peaceful relaxing atmosphere. When Charmaine closes her eyes, Kevin leans over and attempts to kiss her but she turned away XD And she she turned back to see Kevin’s face so close to her, the two became so embarrassed lol Such an awkward moment!

In episode 19, Charmaine invites Kevin to watch a play with her and he excitedly agreed. However, on the way to play golf with his friends, Kevin bumps into Charmaine’s mother who is unwell, so he decides to accompany her to GuangZhou but because there were delays on the transportation, Kevin couldn’t make it back in time for Charmaine’s date. Charmaine got angry/disappointed with Kevin when he called to say he couldn’t make it anymore. She ends up bumping into Frankie so the two went to watch it together instead. When Kevin and Charmaine’s mother finally returned to Hong Kong (after the play finished), Kevin’s arm gets injured helping Charmaine’s mother. Only at the hospital did Charmaine realise the truth and felt really bad for her previous harsh words and the things he did for her. Kevin uses this chance to express his feelings for her, grabbing onto her hands when she held his hand. I guess this is the start of their relationship ^^Started to feel sorry for Kevin so yeh..

Raymond Cho and Florence

I think TVB is going to set this couple up? I remember back in FH1, Raymond was closest to Yoyo, while Florence was to Bobby at work. Somehow Florence looks older than him, but I enjoy the times they bicker with each other. It is quite funny seeing the contrast in character in many scene- they’re quite the opposite! There was a scene where the Forensics and Cops (minus the main characters) were having a BBQ at a beach where Florence and Raymond had a go at each other about the way people should eat their food and during the Volleyball match ^^;

After drinking one night, Raymond scabs a lift off Florence but because he was going to puke, Florence dodges and twists her ankles (since she was on heels too). She went to the hospital where her ankle was bandaged up. Raymond went to buy her different shoes to change into but she wouldn’t wear the shoes he bought her: men’s thongs LOL xD When he said he would pay for her medical expenses, he didn’t have enough money in his wallet lol

In one case (Shirley’s case)while Florence was gathering Evidence, she accidentally cuts Raymond’s hand with a broken glass which had blood on it and turns out the blood actually had HIVs! Will this bring the couple closer?

Mathew Ko and ‘Formula’?

The obvious scene that Mathew had a thing for Forumla was when Formula gave him a bead -racelet and he thought she was only giving it to him,One each~ but turns out she also got one for each of the cops xD That scene where his fellow cops found out was very embarrassing for him lol I don’t feel much for this couple though since I don’t feel much for either characters.

Cases

The cases have been improving a little I guess and I have became a little more interested in the cases. There’s still something about the cases that I’m not exactly satisfied with. Am I asking too much? There seems to be too much conveniences with the evidences. Also, a lot of time, the material/chemicals/parts of items etc found are only “one of a kind”, limiting down the people by heaps. There also seems to be a pattern where the first or obvious suspects are not it. It’s often diverted off somewhere else. Often I find myself noticing/guessing who the criminal is before they actually do…like the Gangster guy, who they said its a father-and-son relationship; how the people getting attacked all had disabilities and that Shirley’s case was actually the little girl’s mother.

*Gangster- ‘Song Gao’

I feel sorry for the women…I felt that she should have told her husband a long time ago, rather than always remaining blackmailed and having to get raped by Song Gao every time..*sigh* I also felt sorry for her husband how he couldn’t bring out his courage to protect his wife after he found out.

-The video clip found was too convenient, and how can they zoom in the video clip to see the teeth that fell off Song Gao’s mouth? It looked like something of super poor quality to do so.

*Disabled people

I felt very sorry for all those innocent victims. The man is totally crazy..and when he re-told everything it was really annoying too- kept repeating himself.

*Shirley’s Case

I thought this case was the most interesting out of the three. I’m quite shocked with Shirley’s case actually, namely Shirley. To some extent I think her real image would have suffered because of the role she played. In this series, Shirley plays a pop star who has an image of an ‘angel’, but as we find out more from the cases, she’s the complete opposite in personality and is a complete b****. I hated her up to the point where she had ‘nothing left’. She was such a selfish person and I think she is very lucky to have “Ka Lok” stick by her through everything. She used him merely to help her advance herself in her career. However I think she does sorta redeem herself when she turned back good and ended up donating her bone-marrow to the little girl. The ending is a good with for her and the two leave to Taiwan to start over.

Finding out more things about Shirley’s manager and assistant was very interesting too and it kept me wondering who was lying and who was telling the truth. Of course, the greatest liar was “Sharon” (Shirley)

*Upcoming Case: The Kidnapping of Charmaine’s brother- This case looks very exciting since it will involve Charmaine’s family~ more on this in the Episode 21-30 Post (when I get there that is )

Other random comments?

Because they always commented that Charmaine’s “Mmm Goi Sai” sounded ‘sweet’ and ‘warm’ when they started to see the other side of her personality, it was starting to annoy me. Now every time she says it, it becomes so noticeable…she says it so often.

*KTVB doesn’t really have a favourite, but she likes Josie.

Computer..is broken.

Just a short notice which I left on the tagboard but I thought I’d add it here as well.

My computer has recently crashed and it won’t turn on 🙁 My files, episodes and programs are all in there and I’m not sure if they are recoverable :S so for the meantime, my posts will not include any screencaptures if new entries are to be made. I will only be able to write up things… but I have exams until next week! >_<

I hope to get my computer fixed soon!! *crosses fingers that my files are recoverable*  I can’t upload things, and or make screencaps.. 🙁

[Update on K’s TVB series Progress]
Currently up to episode 12 of Forensic Heroes.

Initially I thought I’d be making a lot of posts on Forensic Heroes 2, but perhaps time wouldn’t allow me to. It turned out it was rather because I wasn’t enjoying the series as much as I hoped. I didn’t have much I wanted to say except it wasn’t meeting the expectation as I had hoped from its prequel.

I started to feel sorry for Yoyo’s character when Charmaine appeared. It was like she suddenly had a rival at work. Then, in her private life, Linda kept bragging how lucky and happy she was because of her wedding, while Bobby was so ‘stiff’ towards her. Bobby doesn’t show much affection towards her so Yoyo often appears unhappy because she doesn’t understand what he is really thinking, or how much he really loves her. The time I felt the worst for her was when she thought Bobby was going to propose to her, but she got disappointed again and again. I guess Bobby’s character hasn’t changed much since Forensic Heroes 1.

When Bobby was going to propose to her with the ‘bus’, she hadn’t realise and was not in the mood for it. She rejected the ‘bus’ present (which secretly had a ring inside) I felt sorry for her character again after the explosion incident where she became half deaf and her right arm became semi-disabled ='( She could no longer lead her team, or hold a gun anymore nor ‘look after herself’. It was then Bobby finally told her how he really felt since he has always been keeping everything inside making Yoyo uncertain about how much he really cared about her. Bobby finally gets the chance to propose to her, unfortunately this time, she refuses to marry him because she believed he was only doing it because he felt sorry for her *sigh*

I didn’t feel much for Linda’s death in episode 4. Perhaps it was because I already knew she was going to die before I even watched it. It was also on the opening theme video and up until the point where she gets killed from an explosion, Linda’s “Ding Ding” character does not do much for the series. Most if not all her scenes are showing how ‘happy’ she is because of her wedding and it was just building up towards the death scene. The tragedy didn’t really work on me because I saw it as TVB merely removing her character off the series to change the overall casting of the series, with Yoyo no longer able to lead either.

I did, however enjoyed watching how close Yoyo and Linda’s characters have gotten since Forensic Heroes 1.

I wasn’t a fan of the Frankie and Linda (Dr. Koo and Ding Ding) coupling in the original series because I always felt their romantic storyline was rather dull (Actually the romance storyline in Forensic Heroes 1 with all couplings in general weren’t that good). Nevertheless, I thought Frankie did well for his crying scenes~

Like the other characters in Forensic Heroes 2, I disliked Charmaine’s character when she initially appeared. I did not accept her taking lead of Yoyo’s team and how she was always acting more superior with that outer attitude towards others. I’m starting to like the series a bit more now that things have gotten a bit better with Charmaine’s character (after knowing the way she treats her mum and I guess the ‘nicer’ person she is on the inside). Like the rest of the characters how they are starting to see the other side of Charmaine and growing to like her character more, I have also grown to accepting her as the new female lead of FH2. (Episode 10/11) Yoyo’s team is starting to respect her, but they still equally respecting their ex-leader, Yoyo.

I like watching the team spirit and always found Yoyo’s team quite cute and funny. I like the bond and interaction they share with each other and with Yoyo (Madam Leung) , for example how the four were having grudges against Charmaine and Mathew Ko together and how the four were so nosy to find out what three words the women was referring to in an argument with Charmaine. XD With Linda’s death fading away and Yoyo being able to ‘get back up’ from her fall,I think I am starting to get used to the new cast for Forensic Heroes 2.

The other side plot/back story for Charmaine’s family is also quite interesting. I enjoy watching the family matters but it does reminds me a lot of A Journey Called Life with Linda’s family and about her ‘Step mother’, where Charmaine’s father had two family/wives. I like watching the filial side of Charmaine but I do hope the story turns out differently because I don’t want it to be too predictable.

With the loss of Linda from the Forensic Team, the new addition of Kevin’s character is refreshing. Kevin’s character here is more likable compared to some of the other roles he plays because he smiles more here XD He’s a pretty happy guy and I like watching his friendship with Frankie. His character doesn’t do much yet but I can already feel some little love triangle thing building up between Charmaine, Kevin and Frankie. When I first heard of this idea, I was a bit skeptical but I’ll keep an open mind on that idea and see how that plot will unfold.

I liked Astrid’s appearance because I felt the link with the prequel =) I was curious to find out more about the ‘Matt’ guy and the reason he was beating up his wife.

The Cases

The thing I loved most about Forensic Heroes 1 was the cases but so far, I think this is the biggest let down. The cases are not that interesting and I often felt bored. I remember the first case they tried to link a few cases and victims with each other to the point it seemed like it was dragging on and I couldn’t see where things were heading. It was quite messy and all over the place. Some of the evidence also seemed bizarre. Some of the later cases weren’t that interesting either, like Matt’s death with the bald guy with pimples. It just felt so random. They also spent a whole episode about a father and son running over a lady crossing the road. To me, it seemed a bit far-fetched for them to investigate into that area, getting out of their way to find out the truth to help reduce penalties. As I watched the cases, it was also obvious they were trying to inform the HK audience of consequences of committing a crime, like how the man was burying his dog in the forest and illegal actions. I hope the cases get better because they haven’t been very engaging.

So far, overall the series is disappointing and not really engaging. At times I even felt like giving up on the series because it wasn’t meeting my expectation that was built from the original series. I will force myself to watch on to see if it gets any better. I thought it would be a good idea for it to air in Australia on 7pm time slot but some of the stuff can get gruesome and not very appetizing to watch during dinner time XD Still better than watching “The Money-Making Recipe” I guess. (That series has started airing in Sydney at the 8:30pm time slot)

What do you guys think of the first 10 episodes?

TVB Artists in Cosplay

Being interested in Japanese cosplays, I found it quite interesting to see TVB artists cosplay for promotional events too =) Judging from the ones I’ve seen though, there doesn’t seem to be that many and they seem more like models/Miss Hong Kongs rather than picked from TVB Artists lol, but it’s still cool anyway!

This is the most recent one I’ve noticed:

Koni Lui & Tracy Ip Appear As Cosplay Ninjas

Koni Lui (呂慧儀) and Tracy Ip (葉翠翠) attend a promotional event for Xbox game Ninja Gaiden II, 30 May 2008, Hong Kong. The ladies drew quite a crowd in their sexy outfits.

It’s Long Leg Crab (2nd Runnerup in Miss HK 2006) yay for her! lol And Tracey Ip (Miss HK 2005)~ two whom are quite pretty and which I quite like so I hope to see more of them in TVB series. I will remember Koni for her awesome character inCatch Me Now’ and her pretty decent acting considering it was her first TVB acting role. I’m glad they gave her the bigger role compared to Aimee Chan^^

As for Tracey, I only recall her small role in ‘Heart of Greed’ as the girl Moses was seeing.

After seeing this news, I went to search around the web to see if there were other cosplays but I didn’t have much luck! Here are two more from previous years..would be good if you can share some that you know about =)

Sharon Luk And Tracy Ip In Cosplay

Sharon Luk (陸詩韻) and Tracy Ip (葉 ) appear in their Cosplay outfits at a promotional event for a computer game, 18 August 2007, Shatin Centre, Hong Kong. The ladies helped to judge a children’s Cosplay parade and attracted quite a crowd of onlookers with their outfits.

It’s Tracey Ip again, but this time with Sharon Luk (Miss Hong Kong 2005 First Runner up). I don’t feel much for Sharon as I only saw her in a small little role in ‘Survivors Law 2’, acting as the Vice Principal..

Ella Koon Appears In Sexy Cosplay Outfit

Ella Koon (官恩娜) and Japanese model 木村乃 appear in Cosplay outfits during a promotion for Xbox game Lost Odyssey, 16 January 2008, Hong Kong. This was Ella’s first outing into the Cosplay world and she found it fun, if a little uncomfortable.

Finally, Ella Koon who has been in ‘Revolving Doors of Vengeance’ and ‘Survivor’s Law 2’. I don’t feel much for her though but the costumes look great =)
