Bosco appears in this episode 😀 ~ a sudden refreshing new face! His appearance was really cool and he looked very professional ^^ Linda and Bosco met at a shopping centre where a women was about to give birth.

It was also HorMa’s birthday and the family gave her a surprise birthday party. The family members all changed roles in playing each other and it was hilarious and entertaining to watch! Fala looked so much like a boy lol There was also the part where all the kids were taking turns in giving HorMa a kiss and at the end, Moses was pushing JoBao forward XD

JoBao was dressed up as Ah Hing, so instead, he gave a sign language, wishing her a Happy Birthday 🙂 It would have been very touching, memorable birthday except the fact Susanna was putting on a fake act in hope to persuade HorMa to let her children work for  ‘Ga Ho Yuet Yuen’ for money -_-

I knew it was suspicious that Susanna would reveal her own ‘past’ to everyone, thanking HorMa for being the greatest sister. Seriously, Susanna ruins the whole mood of it, Susanna wasn’t even genuine..

When the children went over to HaYu’s place for dinner, Michelle started stirring more trouble by challenging Ah Yuet (Tavia), questioning why she discourages Moses to return to the company and insist on having the company close down than do than come back and work for ‘Ga Ho Yuet Yuen’. She also points out that Ah Yuet has been saying things behind Fala’s back that she’s mute and wont be able to help out anyway. Michelle questions Tavia whether it was because she feared she won’t be given a share because she is adopted, so deliberately discourages the rest not to return. Poor Tavia >< She’s always the one getting accused…

The final scene was really dramatic!! HorMa went to speak with Ah Hong at the company and waited patiently outside to realise AhHong was deliberately letting her wait, calling on an meeting that went on forever when it was not urgent. Ah Hong had plans to arouse anger in HorMa so she would come in and speak unreasonably etc in front of all the work people. I was so worried for HorMa when she fell for the trap >< However, HorMa’s clever words really defeated Ah Hong! K is very impressed XD

HorMa: Ah Hong, I remember you once said that when you were at the country side, you raised chicken. I’m sure you know what chickens are like very well. Chickens are really useless. There is a phrase ‘weak chicken’. But if there is an eagle who wants to capture its little chickens, do you know what she will do? She would take out her feathers and use her life against you!
Ah Hong: Ho-jie,  I know what you are trying to say. I think you’ve mistaken. I don’t want to be the eagle, I want to be the farmer. I want to feed the little chicken.
HorMa: You know what kind of heart you have. God knows, I also know. Everyone says YanHong changed, yes you have changed, you become more aggravated!
Ah Hong: I think you’ve totally misunderstand.. I’m only doing this for you and your children.
HorMa: No one understands you more than I do. In 1985, the owner of the store (next door to ours)’s daughter was getting married. Her bouquet got thrown to you. Back then you were still with your ex-husband and very much in love, you didn’t need another love-fate. But you kept on grinning, hogging onto the bouquet and wouldn’t give it to the other girls who were not yet married. One phrase: ” God gave it to me” was everything. You had to hog onto the bouquet, you even had to hog someone else’s husband! A selfish person like you would give ‘Ga Ho Yuet Yuen’ to my six children!? You wouldn’t even let a single rice drop out of your fist! You’re only doing this to arrouse problems in my family. You want my whole family not to have anymore laughter and only crying, and then you’ll be happy!
Ah Hong: No..no ..don’t misunderstand! Everything I’m doing is genuine-
HorMa: You are genuine?? Ha. You would really give out all your shares in ‘Ga Ho Yuet Yuen’? Ok! I will call my six children and we will go to the lawyers to get it signed as reality. You give all your shares to my children, I will tell my children to give all their shares me. You can leave! This will be my position! ‘Ga Ho Yuet Yuen’ this brand name can come down, and be changed to ‘HorMa Bakery’ I will ask you one more time. Do you dare to go to the lawyers to sign the papers? If you don’t, don’t you ever bother my children again! We’ll live our own separate lives.

HorMa was so awesome! Ah Hong couldn’t say anything to say back to her 😀 haha!! yay!!

A few scenes in this episode I think are worth mentioning include:

JoBao previously (when he was still with HorMa) did some operation on the eye, but after being hit by a car he temporarily couldn’t see. Grandma let HorMa get in the ambulance with him because she knew about JoBao’s previous health situations and what the doctor had said to him back then. He was really scared that he wouldn’t be able to see again but HorMa comforted him and helped him overcome his fears…haha..Ah Hong must have been even more jealous as he kept calling out HorMa’s name, and grabbing onto her hands XD

In a scene where Ah Hong was talking to the ‘temporarily’ blinded HaYu, she asked him to be honest with her and tell her things that she didn’t know about (when he was with HorMa). I thought it was the perfect opportunity for JoBao! I’m surprised how blunt and straight forward he was to her haha..well she asked for it. JoBao said about how grateful he was to HorMa for being there for him and the jokes she’s previously made to cheer him up- how she stood by him despite what Grandpa said. He told Ah Hong how he really liked going to HorMa’s place to be with his children, and despite Linda being a filial, smart girl, she was not his biological daughter. JoBao didn’t have to feel bad because she was the one who wanted him to be honest and he couldn’t see her face expression to know how angry she was. Ah Hong pretended to be sympathetic and wanted to ‘make up’ to the children by offering them to return to the company and work for them. What is she up to now…?

HorMa stood firmly that she disapproves her children going back to ‘Ga Ho Yuet Yuen’ because she knows Ah Hong must be scheming something. She tells the children that she disapproves, but she will not be able to do anything about it if they decide to go anyway. The children initially declined the offer, but Ah Hong is starting to tempt Ah Ka and Chung-Jai. Ah Ka’s company is facing financial difficulties and Chung-Jai quickly quit his job because he couldn’t stand work for other people. Susanna was very annoying in this episode as she kept pestering them to go back, simply because of money.
There were also two flashback scenes of Young Raymond(Ah Ho) and Linda (Ah Chau) which I thought were pretty cute.

Differences

Ah Chau tells Ah Ho how she feels she isn’t good enough for him, because of their difference in background. Ah Ho is more educated and has a wealthier background, and the two of them belong in two different worlds.

Our only difference is 6 inches“- Ah Ho

It’s also kinda sad to see this scene because it contrasts to their current situation now. Ever since Ah Hong broke up HorMa’s family, the two switched around circumstances…

The four-eyed girl

Ah Chu wouldn’t get glasses because she thought they looked ugly, and that Ah Ho would laugh at her and call her four-eyed girl.

“I wouldn’t tease you that, I’ll call you..Four-eye turtle!”-Ah Ho

– – –

Ah Ho is holding up a cardboard.
Ah Ho: Ah Chau, can you see what the first line says?
Ah Chau: The first is ‘P’, the next is ‘Q’..the words are so big even a blind person can see it.
Ah Ho: Fine, read the third line.
Ah Chau: poo –
*A couple walks by and hears and Ah Chau gets embarrassed.*
Ah Chau: Saiyan (from DBZ), you’re so disgusting!
Ah Ho: Ok ok, so you’re not completely blind. I’ll give you the hardest line for you to read. What does the second last line say?
Ah Chau: I love.. *becomes shy* I can’t see, how about you say it out for me.
Ah Ho: You told me to say it! ‘I love Four-eyed Turtle!’
*Another couple stares in the direction*
Ah Chau: You’re so mushy!
Ah Ho: What? Am I talking about you? You won’t even get glasses, are you the four-eyed turtle?

“How is it the same now to when we were little? Before I could say anything..but now..”-Ah Ho (Raymond now)

Michelle tries to stop JoBao going over to HorMa’s place by putting on her usual act in getting Grandma to talk to him about it.

However it is obvious he really wants to be with his children and would secretly make video calls with them 🙂 He may be staying at home with Ah Hong, but his heart lies elsewhere.

Ah Hing has been feeling really upset and when she received a sms, she started to cry too. When asked by HorMa, she said it was because HorMa has never scolded at her before, so when she makes a mistake at work and gets yelled out, it really upsets her.  She asks HorMa to cheer her up by wearing a wig and fake moustache and pretend to sing for her; like how she used to with JoBao when they were young XD JoBao remembers back the good times as a family =)

Raymond and Linda find out that the truth from Ah Hing. She has been dating her colleague, Kelvin (Dexter) for 3 months already. Back then, Kelvin would say late behind at work even though he didn’t have much work to do, but he actually wanted to stay and keep Ah Hing company. Secretly he also learned sign language so he would communicate with her. Also, instead of driving to and from work, he suddenly changed to catching the bus with her. The two were really happy together until one day, he let go of her hands when he saw his mother, and only introduced her as a collague. Their relationship has been shaky because her boyfriend feels it won’t work out because she was mute…

After the final breakup scene with Kelvin, Ah Hing was crying herself and JoBao and the rest of the family went there to sing for her and cheer her up =) Aww, such family love!

Michelle deliberately took Grandma with her overseas for a short trip to test HaYu whether he would secretly go and see HorMa’s family. When she returns to find out he did, she deliberately told Grandma to visit her grandchildren~ where the family and JoBao were going to have hotpot together! JoBao’s phone ran out of batteries so Raymond couldn’t contact him to stop him from coming up to their place. HaYu sees them as he was about to exit the lift and in a rush to run away, he gets hit by a car downstairs!

This episode is Grandma’s birthday and we see some more family time together at JoBao’s place (without HoMa), and at their  swimming pool scene. I’m glad grandma was very happy and admitted she wanted to eat the cake because she knew it would make her grandchildren happy since HoMa made it =)

Another funny moment was when Moses invited Astrid and Tavia out to dinner at an expensive restaurant and Moses deliberately started mocking Astrid as a pay back LOL!! He recorded Astrid’s voice “explain, explain, explain!!!..”and set it as his ring tone; putting it on loud volume XD She totally deserved it! XD Ah Ka is hilarious!

Tavia quits her job, and Moses is determined to set up his own business, with Tavia working for him. JoBao gives Moses’ business an opportunity by letting them do a promotional event for  ‘Ga Ho Yuet Yuen” Cakeshop, since the upcoming year is said to be a lucky year to get married and there would be many weddings. As a family, they come up with a stage promotion, getting 38 new couples to dress in the traditional Chinese outfits to hold their wedding ceremony. Michelle gets extremely angry when she hears the news through the excitement and laughter of JoBao with HorMa’s family. Thus, she calls Astrid to ruin the day, by stealing away the 38 couples, leaving them in a chaotic mess, having people backing out. Luckily, with the help of HorMa and Jobao (and everyone working together)  the event turned out extremely successful ^^ ahaha..it also brought HorMa and JoBao closer together, reminiscing the good times when they were still a married couple. Their children also later took the opportunity to wish JoBao and HorMa forever happiness 🙂 Michelle’s action backfired on her ahah- So much for the interview Ah Hong and JoBao did earlier in the episode about ‘their loving relationship’ =P

*Linda’s mother saves her from the dead and has given her half her spiritual powers.

Chung-Jai is forced to go home, and Ah Ka(Moses) decides to move out. When Grandma finds out from Susanna that Chung-Jai is secretly going back to HorMa’s place, Grandma starts raging. She forces her grandchildren to return or else she’ll starve herself to death =_= seriously, my response was simply ‘go die then’ XD I mean come on, what an annoying woman! She can’t just whinge and complain and expect to get everything she wants. The grandma is so unreasonable and selfish!! She makes all those remarks about how a family should be together and shouldn’t have to be split up etc, but she’s a hypocrite – being the one who is trying to split up everyone when they’re trying to be together.

I was quite moved when Raymond said he’ll move back in place of Chung-Jai, because he didn’t want his younger brother to be sad. I was thinking that the story would feel completely different if Raymond really moved there.

All the grandchildren (except Chung-Jai) return to see Grandma and instantly her mood changes to a happy one, especially upon hearing that Ah Ho(Raymond) was going to move ‘back home’. However, when she realises Chung-Jai was not coming back, instead having Raymond replace him, she goes berserk again; wanting ALL her grandchildren to live with her. It was really Fala’s essay that really moved grandma =) and of course Raymond’s words afterwards. It was a very touching scene 🙂 Go Ah Hing!! ^^

Raymond helps Fala translate her sign language:

She said she remembers when she was six years old, she wrote an essay. Topic is: My Elders. She also remembers that the first two lines she wrote this: ‘My Grandma is the Moon, the first day and 15th day of the month are not the same’. Grandma loves us a lot. Once Grandma took us to play at Ocean Park, hiding the fact from HorMa. But she thought that we’d go missing, so she’d hold onto our hands very tightly. We said we wanted to play the ship ride, and Grandma played with us. But actually, she was so scared that her legs were shaking; face turned pale. We all love Grandma too. But sometimes grandma changes like the moon on the first day of the month- all black. She would yell at HorMa in front of us, making the family have a lot of arguments frequently, and also helped separate us 6 siblings, making us really sad and shedding a lot of tears. Grandma, why have you changed into this?’

At the end, Grandma realises what she was doing was wrong…and wants everyone to be happy =) And thus! Chung-Jai can continue to stay at HorMa’s, and Raymond doesn’t need to move in place of him either ^^ yay! Hopefully after this, Grandma will be nicer etc

While all this happened, HorMa was still in hospital. It was really cool to see the children making an influence on Grandma .I think HorMa would be really proud of her children.

Now that HoMa has come out of hospital, she tells SaYi off for all the trouble she has caused and gets her to help Wayne get back the job!!  =D yay!!

I was really happy for Wayne that he does ended up going to Australia to reunite with his sister. ^^ He stood up against Susanna, something the right person would do , but he doesn’t end up losing his job =) It was sad to see him leave HorMa’s family and their cakeshop, but we’re all happy that he’ll be happier with his sister =) In return for all HorMa’s family has done for him, he makes them a huge Mooncake. When HorMa gave him a red Pocket, he refused to accept it because it contained $20,000; despite HoMa saying he deserved it and it was his bonu payment

At the airport, the family gives him a teddybear present to give to his sister and he takes it.

In it actually had an envelop with the same equivalent AUD! and a card/letter for sister. Another very moving message ^^ Awww.
