This episode mainly focuses on the love relationships.

There was a little hint at the beginning where Tavia and Moses is having lunch together. Tavia wanted to make a new ring-tone with Moses’ voice because she thought he was really cool when confronting Hong Yi and he teases her that she has a secret crush on him.

Ah Ka(Moses): We’re brothers and sisters- it’s impossible.
Ah Yuet (Tavia): You’re crazy! *After a long pause, Tavia replies that she’s only adopted* hint hint AhKa~(haha, doubt he realises)

In a scene where Linda and Raymond are singing Karaoke, they get interrupted when Linda’s doctor colleague sees them and invite the two to join them in the next door room where another doctor is celebrating his birthday. They sing an English song ‘My Love will get you home” (haha love the HOG reference) and Raymond feels a bit left out because he’s English isn’t very good and can’t join in =( Poor Raymond!! This scene also suggests that Raymond isn’t that compatible with Linda because of their difference in educational background.

Ah Hing(Fala) and Kelvin (Dexter) get back together in this episode because they find out its actually his mother was the one who actually cared she was mute and not him.

In another scene where Raymond is driving Linda:

Linda: I can tell Ah Hing(Fala) really likes Kelvin. What do you say?
Raymond: It’s the first time Ah Hing is dating, so its her first love. First love’s for you girls leave a special deep impression, doesn’t it?
Linda: You asking me? Don’t mention it. First relationship for me was more like a nightmare. It has left me a negative affect. It’s the reason why I still haven’t dated since.
Raymond: You have been affected negatively? As if I haven’t. It’s like a ghost’s shadow who keeps bothering me and I can’t get rid of for the rest of my life.
Linda: You think it’s really easy for me to get rid of? I’m worried that I’m psychologically affected. I should request for compensation
Raymond: You want compensation? I should be the one claiming compensation.
Linda: Of course not, should be me claiming from you.
It’s kinda cute that they’re talking about their first relationship like that as a joke.

There is also more progress with Bosco and Linda’s relationship. Bosco offers to drive Linda home but she said she wanted to buy some Japanese food first and he ends up driving her somewhere really far(requires catching a ferry), saying they should eat the best one if they want to eat it.

In hope to learn more about her, Bosco suggests to guess things about each other, since they might have some special connection since they were born in the same year and month and in the same hospital. When they find out the last ferry back was canceled, the two run for the second last ferry. It s raining so Bosco gives her his jacket, grabbing onto Linda’s hand and running together.

So far I think they’re kinda fun and cute together but I feel a little sad in the back of my mind for Raymond.

When Kelvin’s mother finds out her son is dating Fala, she strongly disapproves of the two because Fala is mute and doesn’t want her son having another ‘burden’. She beleives Fala is not good enough for her son =( Even though SaYi is usually quite annoying, but sometimes I like the way she sticks up for Fala, straightforward and to the point (though it causes more trouble ^^;) -SaYi was only doing it because she was sucking up to JoBao(‘s money) anyway XD. Again and again I’m really relieved every time HorMa is on screen =) She’s so awesome! When she’s here you just know things will turn out fine and not go out of hands 🙂 HorMa speaks out Kelvin’s mother’s thoughts: how hard it was for Kelvin to take care of his father, and now herself. HorMa doesn’t blame Kelvin’s mother and defends and justifies her actions and thus, Kelvin’s mother gained her respect.

HorMa: I really want you to know, I have a daughter like this, other than crying with her, what else can I do? Lately I’ve been all over the place with her to find a job in hope to tell you that my daughter doesn’t need your son to ‘carry'(a burden) her. If we do become one family in the future, there is no need to use the word ‘carry’.

I loved the last sentence~ it gave me a warm family fuzzy feeling inside. As a family, would you see/consider your family members as a burden?

At the end of the episode, Kelvin and his mother goes back to find Fala. Using sign language, Kelvin’s mother tells Fala how she was moved how much Fala cared about her and wanted Kelvin to treat her well, not having any negative feelings towrds her. She apologises for hurting her and hopes that she can also be forgiven, and they can be one family 😀

TVBuddy Keychain arrival!

Today my Olympic TVBuddy Keychain arrived through the mail ^_^ It was a welcome gift from Batgwa.com Forum for being promoted as a ‘Big nose‘ lol It’s quite cute actually haha, another TVB item to add to my collection!

Thank you Batgwa Community =D

Another very awesome episode!!

This episode was Ah Hing(Fala)’s birthday and JoBao wanted to go to celebrate with her. However, Ah Hong(Michelle) starts scheming so that he won’t end up going; firstly by getting Ah Gong to drive him where his car ‘breaks down’, and she steps on his glasses so he wouldn’t be able to see! When the half-blinded JoBao wanted to catch a taxi, Ah Gong lied and said the taxi that drove pass was occupied, justifying it was peak hour and so was hard to get a taxi. Poor JoBao!! I was rooting for him all the way. It was very touching to see what a lovely father he is, or wants to be, for Fala. He calls Ah Ho(Raymond) to pick him up but Ah Gong lies to JoBao where they actually were~ making JoBao wait there until dark! JoBao’s phone batteries also fails on him so he cannot get in contact Raymond after. He asks a passersby whether he could borrow his phone to use but the man directs him to use the payphone instead…which was across the road! JoBao almost gets run over by cars and even falls over a few times and the cake gets squashed >< That evil Ah Gong was following/watching him(while reporting to Ah Hong) from behind but didn’t do anything to help him, just watching him die! What kind of person is he??? JoBao gets hurt and his hand and knee were also bleeding; but continues on and manages to make his way to the phone.

He calls HorMa’s home number asking for Raymond’s number and tells her his current situation. When I heard HorMa telling him just to go home and not bother because of all the troubles, I felt really sad for him because of all the effort he went to and how hard he tried to make it to his daughter’s birthday =(  Jobao calls Ah Hong, but hangs up sooner after as he was determined to get to Fala’s birthday 🙂 haha! Ah Hong must of being so pissed off lol

With the help of some nice people, JoBao manages to get on the right bus, slowly make his way to HorMa’s place. Ah Hing(Fala) is outside and sees him (and Ah Gong in the background)!! yay! JoBao, you finally made it ^^!!

JoBao: JoBao is really useless, I always break things. The road back home is actually really hard to walk. The road is very long and I couldn’t see it. But I know, I have to come back.

I feel that he is also talking about him wanting to find his way back to reunite with his family…poor guy. Ah Hing must have been so touched!

Ah Hing’s birthday wish was hoping that HorMa and her siblings will forgive JoBao…aww!!! It comes to show that Ah Hing has already forgiven her father =)

Because of Michelle’s failed attempt of stopping JoBao from going to HorMa’s side, she uses Ah Yuen(Chris) against HorMa.

Where Yuen tells HorMa not to ‘do it again because it’s embarrassing for him’ HorMa must have been heartbroken to hear her own son say something like that! He is such a…argh!!

He was siding with Ah Hong; hurting  his real mother. Raymond overhears and confronts him angrily; telling him to apologise to HorMa. Yuen backs up that HorMa was being barbaric saying unreasonable things at the company to ‘his mother’ and that he loves/is more closer to his ‘mother’ than HorMa><!!! He claims AhHong lost her baby because of him, but HorMa didn’t care/love him.

When Moses and Tavia arrives, Raymond asks Moses to help clear up the misunderstandings but Moses tells Raymond that they are all grown up now and have their own lives and thoughts, and that they don’t not stick together like when they were little.  It turns out Moses has actually agreed to Michelle in working for ‘Ga Ho Yuet Yuen’ .When he announces this to HorMa, the family gets into a dispute. Moses justifies he has no choice because of the situation his company was facing. He had to borrow money to pay the wages, and next month he won’t have anymore. He also promised his colleagues a lot of things when he took them over with him so he has responsibility to them and that he doesn’t want to company to close down.

At AhHong’s house, all the children are there including Ah Ka and his workers. They start talking about filming some promotional clips for ‘Ga Ho Yuet Yuen’. The more I listened and watch Michelle’s fakeness – about filming how she loves her step-sons and how she lost her baby because of finding Ah Yuen who was a naughty kid back then– the more angry I got.

Moses couldn’t pass his own conscience and finally reveals the truth that Ah Hong was actually the one who lost her own baby and put the blame on Ah Yuen. Moses knew back then but was too scared say it out or he might not be able to stay and look after Ah Yuen and Chung-Jai. He reveals that it was also her who ruined the ‘Ga Ho Yuet Yuen’ promotion in the first place, getting Astrid to steal their idea and forcing them to a corner.

Ah Hing then reveals how she saw Ah Gong following JoBao the whole time when JoBao struggled to get to Fala’s place to celebrate her birthday!!  JoBao, and even Grandma finally see the through Michelle’s evil heart!! yay!!

At the end of the episode, all HorMa’s children come back to her , including Ah Yuen, who apologises to her 🙂 This is a huge progress for her family reuniting!

 Final Thoughts on the series

I finished watching the series last Friday and I’m kind of glad it has come to an end. The series didn’t exceed my expectation (not that my expectations for this series were high anyway) and I thought it was a rather average series. As mentioned previously, the only reason I watched it was because it was aired during dinner time and I enjoyed seeing Gallen’s return to TVB. The animals were kinda cute too but the final scene with Siu Ba(dog) and Cancan(cat) was a bit too cheesy for my liking lol ( especially for the dialogue to be coming out of animals haha)

[Final Convo between Dog and Cat]

Cancan: Do you reckon I’ve gone fatter again? Should I be eating less?
Siu Ba: I’ve never heard that you would want to eat less before.
Cancan: I want to look more prettier; so I can make you look better with me.
Siu Ba: Don’t do that, if you eat too little I’ll be really sad. Don’t you remember? I said I’m putting you in first priority.
Cancan: Nope I don’t remember
Siu Ba: You cats have poor memory
Cancan: Because I want you to say it to me everyday. Say it to me everyday and I’ll remember

Lui Fong and Margie’s story didn’t really interest me and most of the time I couldn’t care less about what happens with them. The way Lui Fong treated her as a dog was evil but at least he’s doing something for once where he isn’t such a wimp…~ The highlight with that family would have to be their son 🙂 A very cute adorable little boy haha

I didn’t like Bernice’s character either and I don’t see much significance of her appearance in the story. Her cute little dog Bailey was just like her- spoilt and somewhat immature. I did feel sad seeing Bailey die though because Bernice was saying how she was the most important thing to her. I felt that Bailey finally grew up when she tried to act happy to make her ‘mama’ Bernice not worry about her for her last few days and was able to make her happy; leaving behind a happy memory for her. Bernice’s step father was also very fake. It just looks so poor on the acting because he’s always so ‘happy’ and exaggerated looking. He doesn’t seem to be taking things seriously in the job as he’s often looking happy when he’s supposed to be yelling from frustration. Is he trying to be funny?

Now…finally onto Gallen and Myolie. I think the scenes where they became friend were ok. Gallen teaching Myolie to be a cat was extreme though..metaphorically..ok, but literally (i.e stretching herself on the bed)- it’s just too weird. Later, Myolie found out about Gallen’s feelings for her from Bernice and Margie and she became desperate to hear it from him. However,Gallen then realises he has nose cancer so denies any of it was true. Myolie’s constant pestering got really annoying to watch and I was just so tired from seeing her on screen. The two also hardly have any chemistry on screen together…As with all TVB series, Gallen eventually opens up and accepts Myolie as they face his illness together and spend their last days together in happiness.

I cannot however; help but find Gallen’s fake death in episode 19 unrealistic. Sure its a little different but who does that?? How can he just claim to be dead, have a whole funeral for him when no one has seenhis body? It doesn’t make sense..if it was something like him being in an accident and he went missing etc but actually escaped and they assumed he had died in the accident or something to be more realistic. A friend of mine told me a person can request not to let anyone see their body after they die. ..who knows..

In the screencap above, Myolie slides/floats behind Gallen lol XD She seemed more like a ghost to me

I think the sad moments from Gallen’s cancer were ones regarding his family where he decided not tell his mother or father and sent them away so they wouldn’t see him suffering. Those moments were quite touching =)

“Can there really be love without an ending? It’s not the end that important, but the process. As long as you deeply fall in love once, even if it’ll only leaving behind a good memory; even if you are together or not, it’s not important”-Chow Chow (Myolie)

All in all, I didn’t like the series much and I wouldn’t care less if I skipped the whole thing. I would say it’s a waste of time. Myolie’s acting continues to exaggerate through the series so I was much annoyed by her character. However I was quite impressed by Gallen and i enjoyed his acting and character on screen =) His character has a few layers and watching this character change and grow was nice. I loved his intereactions with the animals 🙂 Hopefully Gallen would appear in better TVB productions in the future.

Recently a lot of people have been requesting for this English SubThemesong usually shown in Linda scenes in Moonlight Resonance. I think the song sounds pretty nice 😀 Here’s the song in FULL CD Quality for you to download ^^

Icecream sung by: Ciara Newell

Talk to me
You speak with me
Don’t sink before you rise baby
Don’t fade away

You hesitate
You seem to wait
For all the time we had
Feels like a world away

Who’s to say, we’ll be ok
We will make it through the night
Don’t wanna wake up in this state
I just want us both to smile

Cause we’re the same
And I know that we’ll never change
Look I bought your favourite ice cream
I don’t wanna see it melt away

If you walk out now
I don’t know if we’re gonna be the same
Baby just talk with me
Cause I want you to stay here with me

The memories
The things we did
I locked inside my heart
Where I know I won’t forget

And now, who’s to say, we’ll be ok
We will make it through the night
Don’t wanna wake up in this state
I just want us both to smile

Cause we’re the same
And I know that we’ll never change
look I bought your favorite ice ream
I don’t want to see it melts away

If you walk out now
I don’t know if we could be the same
Baby just talk with me
Cause I want you to stay here with me

I want you to stay here with me

[Love Exchange] Episode 19

Getting more intense!

Power confesses to the police that he was involved with ‘cleaning’ the black money with Dick and because Dick wanted to withdraw from the illegal activities, Power decided to kill him off. He followed Dick to a bar where he saw him with Bonnie, both drinking a lot. Later the two drove to Dick’s new house where Power made him unconscious and drugged him, suffocating them to death >< He made them look like they were having an affair..and just like that, Bonnie was killed as well. She was an innocent victim because she was ‘conveniently’ there with Dick.

I think this is all part of Power’s scheme, pretending to be drunk and  ‘accidentally’ out of guilt confessing the truth. However, later on the police find out from records that Power has actually left HongKong during the time of the incident, thus concluded that Power was only lying, and in fact not the murderer.  Power implied he was trying to cover up his father in-law’s doing..how evil of him to put the blame on his someone who is in coma!

Anita offers to take Krystal’s mother out for a day along with Michael’s sister in-law and her brother in-law. They have a really good time and they have dinner back at home. Before Anita takes Krystal’s mother back to the hospital, she was worried she would get cold so took her into her room to get her a scarf. There Krystal’s mother is shocked when she sees Dick and Anita’s wedding photo, questioning her who that man was. Krystal’s mother seemed really sad as she stared at the photo…

Soon after, Krystal’s mother passes away because of the cancer and Krystal was unable to see her for the final time..aww…feel so sad for her. They had such a short time together =(

After she left, a nurse gave a letter to Anita, in which Krystal’s mother left for her before she passed away; revealing that the man her daughter had an affair with and even got an abortion for their baby was Dick! ahhhh!!! Shocker! I’d never expected the man she had previously loved so much was Dick !! They didn’t show his face before so I assumed it was some guy she had a bad experience with at the end. Krystal’s mother had only realised Dick was Anita’s husband after seeing the wedding photo in her room! She tried to beg Anita for forgiveness and explain how much Krystal regrets and feels guilt about it too..

Krystal gets in depression after her mother’s death and calls Power to come see her. He doesn’t care about her at all, but when she threatened that she’ll kill herself, Power makes up an excuse for his wife and goes to find her. Before he arrives, Anita arrives and confronts Krystal with the letter! Anita breaks off her friendship with Krystal as she couldn’t forgive her for lying to her all this time when she really treated Krystal as her real sister… In the next scene (next morning) , Power and Tracy are watching the news where a woman (Krystal) has been sent to hospital after attempting to commit suicide! We never see Power actually arrive…so I’m guessing that Power is the one who was behind it!!Maybe he heard something!!

While Anita and Michael were driving on the road, she gets distracted and they get into a car accident. Half the car gets on flames as the two struggle to get out and Michael’s seat belt is stuck!!

As most of you may know, [Wish You Well] is the themesong of TVB The Return of the Cockoo (2000). Sung by Chilam Cheung, it’s one of my favourite TVB themesongs and I still continue to enjoy listening to it 🙂 I remember I didn’t like the series very much though haha, but I did end up watching the whole thing simply because of Chilam! He played the adorable ‘Mun Chor’ who was mute boy. Now every time a TVB series is released with a mute person, I’m often reminded of ‘Mun Chor’ (like Shirley in The Price of Greed) and more recently, Fala in MR. In Episode 18 of Moonlight Resonance, Chilam’s “Wish You Well” was played during the scenes between mute girl Ah Hing and Kelvin and it really left me reminiscing the series. So! I’ve decided to post up the lyrics and translations of this song to share =)

Wish You Well

English Translations by KTVB *Please credit if reposted*

Listening to you continuously calling out to me
A torn wound, calming my straining heart
In grief, can’t say love has no result
Mouth and lips, tightly locked up

Crying and not a word spoken
Afraid, it will implicate your life days and months
Regret nothing lacking(negative), only bad thing is having met you
Given you too much trouble(twists and turns)

*Would rather never have hugged, together with you until old [can go old]
Letting you come and go freely
In beneath my heart remains admiration
If you meet by chance, he is better than me
Only hope to stop from afar, wish you well and safe
Despite being able to tell you personally [really want to tell you personally].

Say, too much things I want to say
But I still only want to keep silent from saying goodbye
Just let me bleed, the sky and ocean wide
so long as you are white like ice-snow

Repeat *

I think it’s a pretty sad, touching song. In Return of the Cockoo, mute Chilam grew up with Charmaine as brother and sister (Charmaine’s mother took care of Chilam at a young age after Chilam’s mother abandoned him). The two eventually developed feelings for each other (that of a man and a woman). However, when Charmaine’s mother found out Chilam’s feelings for her, she refused to let him be with her because he ‘wasn’t good enough for her’, being mute and unable to bring her happiness >< (That scene where Chilam begged her not to abandon him; denying his feelings for Charmaine was sooo touching!!) At the end, Chilam and Charmaine do not end up as a couple together…
The themesong is sung through the persona of “Mun Chor” and how the wishes he one the loves will find her happiness. Because he is mute, he feels that he is unable to give her the happiness she deserves so conceals his feelings…
To be honest, I really disliked Charmaine’s character in The Return of the Cockoo, and couldn’t understand why three guys would fall for her -_- The only reason I wanted Chilam to end up with Charmaine was because I wanted ‘Mun Chor’ to be happy but when they didn’t end up together, I shrugged that idea off. I’m sure ‘Mun Chor’ deserved someone better.
