You may wish to be a famous socialite.
You may wish to have fame and fortune.
But is that really what you will wish for at the end?

In PAK SIU-YAU (LouiseLee See Kei)’s eyes, her three daughters are just as perfect as diamonds. She believes that the greatest blessing for a woman is to marry a wealthy man. To guarantee a better life for her daughters, she has started training the girls since they were young, hoping that they will marry into the richest families when they mature.

YAU’s first daughter HONG NGA-YIN (Maggie Shiu) does not agree with her on her values. Yet when she sees that the man YIN is going out with is KO CHEUNG-SING (Bowie Lam), who is very well-off, she decides to let YIN go with her choice. YAU’s second daughter HONG NGA-TUNG (Gigi Lai) is hopelessly romantic but does not seem to have much luck with men. To make it up to her, YAU seeks to match her up with HO CHIT-NAM (Moses Chan), the son of Hong Kong’s most powerful business tycoon HO FUNG (Ngok Wah). Being the youngest in the family, HONG NGA-SZ (Ada Choi) is well aware of YAU’s concerns. Having recovered from divorce, SZ now decides to pin all her hopes on FUNG.

YAU’s persistence pays off and her daughters have all found a wealthy husband. But money does not really bring them happiness and the sisters are gradually losing themselves in vanity.

Comments: The Mega Grand 80 episode production is finally here XD I remember the hype about this series during its filming and I’m quite shocked that its release is so soon now! It looks so epic, grand, glamorous with a very strong cast! After looking at the Sale presentation clip last year I was greatly anticipating it but the fact the series is 80 episodes makes me fear I might get tired of it lol But of course if the series is really good I wouldn’t mind =] I just hope for a great script and story and won’t turn into a major failure like ‘The Dance of Passion’. Since it is 80 episodes, it’s going to be aired in HK for a total of 4 months!

TVB’s 41st Anniversary Awards is fast approaching (19th November) and it’s that time of the year again! I can’t believe how fast time flies! 0_0!

The Nomination list is out!! I’m a bit shocked and a little disappointed by some of the nominations actually. Nevertheless, I’ve ticked the ones below which I prefer amongst the Nominees. There are series I have not watched though (such include: Building Blocks of Life, Best Selling Secrets, The Gentle Crackdown 2, Wasabi Mon Amour, DIE, Silver Chambers of Sorrow, Money Making Recipe, The Four, Last One Standing)  so it is a little bias. Who would you vote for top 5?

**You can only vote once and will not be able to change your answers. You can vote up to three people in each category (must be done all at once though) polls will close 18th November (day before the official results will be out!)

Best Actor

[poll id=”25″]

I would have thought Steven Ma from A Journey Called Life would get in the nominations (rather than Kenneth) Damien also did well for Catch Me Now. I voted for Ha Yu and Raymond because I’m a Ray supporter xD,  but I think HaYu really deserves this award. I’ll be happy if Raymond wins Favourite Character Award =]

Best Actress

[poll id=”26″]

I think the four I voted for deserve the award and are most likely going to win the award. Linda was great in A Journey Called Life but I don’t think she’s up to the standards yet. How did Kate even get there?

My Favourite Male Character

[poll id=”27″]

My Favourite Female Character

[poll id=”28″]

A very hard choice! ><I like a lot of female characters.  I couldn’t cut them down to three lol I also really liked Melissa Ng from the Master of Taichi..and I’m surprised Tavia isn’t even on this list for MR. I’m glad Linda is nominated for her role in Legend of Demigods instead of MR!

Best Supporting Actor

[poll id=”29″]

This one is a little strange XD I’m surprised the two boys from Your Class or Mine are in it. I voted for Johnson Lee because I really liked his role in Catch Me Now. I nominated Wayne for his role in MR, even though it’s for his  role in The Gentle Crackdown 2 which I didn’t watch. Oh, Grandpa from MR, and Derek from Wars of In-Laws2 were pretty neat too.

Best Supporting Actress

[poll id=”30″]

Lots of competition! I think this will be quite hard, especially with the cast from MR! I also would have like Koni Lui from Catch Me Now to be nominated over Sharon.

Most Improved Actor

[poll id=”31″]

I don’t really know these people haha. I mean I’ve seen them all before but haven’t really thought they stood out, especially #1 and #3 since I haven’t seen Best Selling Secrets. but..what’s Derek doing there?? He’s been acting for ages!

Most Improved Actress

[poll id=”32″]

I think Tavia definitely deserves this award for her performance in Moonlight Resonance =) But why is she still in the Most Improved category? She has won the Most Improved long before Linda and Kate and they’re competiting for Best Actress Awards…I feel that this award should be more for the newbies. I think Elaine Yiu should also have been nominated instead of Toby -_- She has improved a lot since her return to TVB and I think she deserves a mention at least!

Best Series

[poll id=”33″]

I thought The Gem of Life was going to be included in this year’s Anniversary Awards, if not MR faces one less competition! I think it’s more fair if Gem of Life will be in next year’s one since we won’t be able to finish even half the series by then! It is possible that the nomination list might change for additional nominees.

One of my favourite characters in DemiGods is Nancy’s Ga Lau Lo simply because she’s powerful, ‘dead-like’ and looks so cool haha. Her first encounter with the spirit swordsman(Stephen) has left her with a ‘strange’ feeling of familiarity, but she couldn’t understand what it was. I thought it was pretty obvious those were her own memories and she was slowly recalling them. Her interactions with Sunny/Stephen were interesting and I felt they were somewhat romantic haha; especially the part where they capture her and Stephen sets her free.

And so, I was waiting to see when and how Nancy was going to regain her memories =] Finally in episode 16..

An episode with lots happening!

Kate got a friend of hers, ‘Jimmy’, to put an act together to show Moses and he pretends to be her son’s father; constantly harassing her for money. Moses helps stick up for Kate and even giving him money so he won’t bother Kate anymore. Kate tries to act innocent and pretends to have changed into a better person.

One day when Kate goes to find Moses to ‘repay the money’, Kate pretends to faint from working very hard at various jobs etc, and Moses carries her in his arms as he rushes to the hospital. However just as he got there, his heart problem started acting up and he ends up going in hospital as well. Kate uses this opportunity and tries make up with Moses.

When she kisses him, Moses doesn’t hesitate or hold himself back. In fact, he smiles.

When Moses comes out of the hospital, she asks him whether they’ll be able to get back together and promises that she’ll never lie to him again.

It makes me wonder if Kate would really stop lying if she really got back with Moses..unfortunately it was a lie itself in getting back with him. Tavia unintentionally finds out about the Jimmy guy and realises Kate was lying again. She confronts her and tells her she’ll tell Moses all about her lies after the promotional event in which Kate no longer needed to participate in. It’s true…Kate never changed and didn’t deserve to be forgiven by Moses.

Kate tried to find a way to patch up the situation but she couldn’t come up with a way to cover up her lie. She knew she would lose Moses once again,  perhaps forever. And so, to make the best out of her situation, Kate runs on stage half way through the promotional event to ‘grab the fame’ over Tavia; and just to annoy her more -_- Geez, what an attention seeker..one of those people who ‘has to win‘. Before Tavia got to tell Moses, Kate dumps him first before he could reject and her off again…>< that’s just sad. Why did he give her another chance? Why couldn’t Tavia tell Moses earlier..?

On the other hand, Raymond sees Bosco holding hands with his ex- girlfriend so decides to question him, asking why he had lied to Linda that he broke u with her! It turns out that Bosco didn’t want to give up that relationship either. What a two timer!! It’s like he is putting the blame on the girls for liking him! He claims his ex-girlfriend is the third party in the relationship now and she has done so much for him and doesn’t mind if she’s not his first priority >< This guy is just way too selfish..Raymond sticks up for Linda but Bosco begs him not to tell her and that he’ll get things sorted out.

Later, Bosco calls Raymond out and tells him that he has made it clear to his ex-girlfriend and they really have broken up. He has sold his home and his car and plans to give the money to her as she returns to England. When Raymond is having dinner with Linda, Bosco suddenly sms Raymond, telling him that he’s decided to go England with his ex-girlfriend instead! What the heck?? Can’t this guy make up his mind?? How can he just change his mind like that! He just left Linda like that without telling her and asked Raymond to take care of Linda for him and not to tell her ><  Raymond couldn’t help but tell Linda and drives to the airport in hope Linda can see him for the last time before he leaves…They catch sight of him as he is walking through the gate, where he mouths ‘Sorry, bye’ . I seriously hope we don’t see him again!!

Ah Hong and her ex-husband continue to threaten and blackmail Ah Yuen to help them or else they’ll leak out the fact he has run over a woman when he was drink driving in Thailand.
While Ah Yuen is having lunch with Ah Hong, HorMa and SaYi were another table at the restaurant. When Ah Hong went to the bathrooms, Susana also went in and they started bitching to each other XD I love it every time Susanna is sticking up for HorMa up against Ah Hong!! I loved this scene, especially the part where Susanna slapped Michelle three times across her face!! XD You go Susanna! !! Susanna then accused Michelle of slapping her instead when a lady came out of the toilets hahah..

However, Kate appears, defending Michelle; saying she saw Susanna slapping Michelle and not the other way around!

Omg..Ga Mei is teaming up with Ah Hong >< Two of the worst characters on one side. I wonder how Ga Mei went to side with Ah Hong..they hardly know each other..more trouble is expected to come!

There’s also this really cute cute family scene in this episode where Raymond was feeling upset (knowing Bosco was cheating on Linda) and his siblings all one by one popped up by his side; bunched up together on his bed XD Then they started playing ghosts stories lol They were acting like kids again where their imagination were going wild lol! XD Very very cute scene!!

Initially I was going to have them all in one poll but then figured it’s quite hard to choose! I was going to break the poll down further but at the end of the day, for the TVB Anniversary, they’re all going for ‘Favourite Character’ Award (i.e Tavia would be competing with Susanna)- or Best Actor (even better!) well, maybe not the supporting characters lol..

Who would you vote to be your favourite MR character?

[poll id=”20″]

For me, the two I definitely would not choose would be Linda’s Yu So Chau and Kate’s Ga Mei. Their characters are so unlikable; especially Linda. She’s a very weak character, often self-centered, spoiled, selfish and a hypocrite. These all may sound like extremes but if you think carefully about the way she handles the love triangle, I’m not exaggerating…It’s a pity because her character was so much more likable in HOG but in MR, she fails to get my sympathy. As for Kate, I don’t think I really need to explain myself XD All the others are quite decent, but my vote goes to Ah Hing! ^^

[poll id=”21″]

My most hated Male character would be Bosco’s Dr Ling (followed by Chris). Dr Ling is such a two timer >< haha, maybe I should change the poll to be most ‘hated’ characters instead.

As for favourite male character, my vote was between either Raymond or Wayne 🙂

Linda tries not to see Bosco again, and she tells him how his girlfriend did so much for him, including giving up their baby because she didn’t want it to burden him. Instead of feeling sorry for his girlfriend, he angrily confronted her, asking her why she went to tell Linda and not him >< It was like he didn’t care about her at all!

Raymond and Linda finally sat down together after that scene of confessions and they openly spoke about how they used to like each other, and the ‘what ifs’ etc and how they may have been together already. And perhaps Ah Hong would get angry if she knew the two ‘were together’  making them unhappy and at the end they would break up again? The scene was kinda cute but weird in that they talked and acted like they were over each other already.

Back at the hospital when Bosco and Linda were visiting the baby they both helped bring to this world, Bosco tells Linda that he has broken up with his girlfriend, and Linda goes back with him..what the heck?? So much for that idea -_- She says one thing and does another… and tries to make it sound like what she is doing is right. When will this cycle end??

[Email to Raymond]

Goon GaJai, I used to be so silly, asking you ‘if this’, ‘if that’ what would happen. In this world there is no such thing as “what if”. Some things are already predetermined. It’s fate that the big truck came by and that I didn’t run over to see you, and that I met Ji Sun (Bosco), and then becoming the third party. Now fate has arranged JiSun to break up with his girlfriend and now we are officially together. I don’t know what else is predetermined ahead, I only know that whatever sadness lies ahead, I won’t be alone. GooGaJai, there’s no need to worry about me.

[Reply email to Linda (that he ended up deleting and not sending)]

Subject: I will never change

Ah Chau, that night you told me you don’t have those feelings for me anymore, and that there’s no way of finding it anymore. At that time, I really wanted to tell you those feelings have always been with me and will never change. YuSoChau, I really want you to know that no matter you’re a person or who you’re with, my promise to you will never change. As long as you’re unhappy, I really want to lend you all the time I have, until you’re happy again.

Kate and Susanna continues to lie and act in front of Moses and the family, trying to make Kate seem like the innocent one and that she didn’t mean to lie to him. Slowly she’s getting back closer to Moses and you could tell he’s starting to fall for it because he still loves her a lot.

There was a scene which I quite enjoyed watching. SaYi was planning to go back Portugal and the family have a farewell dinner for her and HorMa asks the children to play an honesty game- say something they hate the most about SaYi and the one who answers the best will not have  to go to the airport to send her off XD It was hilarious when all the children started raising their hands wanting to answer XD  and I wonder if this is part of their plan too. Nevertheless, SaYi seemed touched by the things the others have said about her, everything she did was for her daughter and so this helped patch up SaYi and GaMei’s relationship.

There was another promotional event and Tavia and Moses was supposed to dress up as a couple in wedding gown. However, Tavia backed out and got another colleague to dress up in her part, with the excuse that she can’t fit in the dress. It’s sad because I’m sure Tavia would have been so happy to, but she felt awkwardness because she knew that he knew about her liking him. After moses had a talk with Tavia, Tavia was becoming more comfortable again and the two started to act like how they use to 🙂

On the other hand, JoBao is aware of Ah Hong’s possible scheme and asks Ah Yuen to help him investigate about the shops they were purchasing. However, Ah Yuen was on Ah Hong’s side and betray him, humiliating JoBao in front of everyone.

Later, JoBao, Grandma and the family try very hard in ‘forcing’ Ah Hong to let Ah Yuen take her position and for her to come down from the decision making powers for the company. However, little did they know Ah Yuen continues to be ‘controlled’ by Ah Hong.

Raymond Lam: Your Love

My Raymond Lam CD [Your Love] (Version 1) has finally arrived in the mail!! ^__^ I have been waiting for it forever xD Like last year’s debut album, despite the download links being distributed all over the Internet on its release date, I didn’t listen to it because I wanted to hear it from my own CD (which I had pre-ordered from YesAsia). And so, I waited patiently and here it is and I must say: I totally LOVE it!! haha

It comes with a photo booklet with great shots of Raymond =D and a Mini-cat poster printed behind the Lyrics! This time, the packaging is better than his debut album. It’s printed on a nicer, smoother material (rather than stuck on thick cardboard) so I’m pleasantly pleased!

After pre-ordering it, 2 more variations of it came out! One with the Album poster, and one with a 3rd cover+ 6 postcards+DVD with 3 MVs (version 2)! Aww..if they released that earlier I so would have gotten that one instead (though it would also mean another 2 weeks wait)!! Nevertheless, it has arrived and I can’t stop listening to it now XD I love his voice!!

The Inside Cover, with all the photos in the Photo booklet printed.

The Front and Back Cover of the CD

I can listen to his album all day long… =D I can’t decide which song I like best (other than the TVB Themesongs haha), though I always notice myself looking at the CD player at Tracks 3,  6, 8, 9 to see what song it is. The Duet with Vincy is also a PLUS!  I wish there were more songs though, the album just seems to end so quickly 🙁 Overall, I’m really happy with the album! 😀 I love all the songs in it and I’m just anticipating for his next CD lol XD For those who downloaded, if you like the CD too, please support Raymond Lam and purchase your own copy! ^^That way we’re increasing the chances of him releasing more in the future!

Once again, please don’t ask for download links for the songs as I won’t be distributing them, thanks!
