I’m currently half way through the series (episode 15) and I’m quite pleasantly surprised to find myself chasing the series and liking it 🙂 The storyline is pretty engaging so far and I’m looking forward to watching more of it =)

Some quick notes:

*I really like Charmaine’s character in here. She’s cute and likable and I can already see her being nominated in next year’s TVB Awards for Favourite Female character XD
*At first I really liked the Charmaine and Raymond pairing, but I’m slowly starting to like Joe over him. I think its the way Joe’s character develops that makes him more likable and unlikable qualities of Raymond such as cowardice is starting to show up.
*I like the bond between the brothers
*I don’t understand why Liza had to continue to be so slack to Joe when he already found out the truth about being her son.
* I feel so sorry for Joe! His father’s love towards him is comforting though 🙂
*I’m really happy Liza has finally accepted Charmaine and really wants her to be her daughter in-law
*Selena and Edwin storyline hasn’t been that engaging yet but I like the way Edwin helps Joe.
*Go educated feminist Selena! I’m surprised her father would let her do all that protest etc
*Kiki’s character is so annoying XD

Enjoy the Opening Screencaptures!

What pretty screencaptures *_*

Myolie Wu: Evolve

I got my friend to help me get Myolie’s CD from Hong Kong, so here are some photos!

The packaging really reminds me of Raymond Lam’s 2nd Album: Your Love. It’s pretty nice 🙂

The Front, Back and Inside Cover of the Album

The Inside with CD + DVD

And it comes with a huge promotional poster XD I’ve stuck it on the wall in my room, and now it looks like I’m a Myolie fan XD

Pictures behind the lyrics

I think these are pretty interesting. The lyrics have been split into 4 separate sheets with different Myolie pictures behind it. And it was only after seeing these pictures that I realised they’re pictures of Myolie holding pictures of herself, or through frames.

this one is a litle freaky.. XD

Bookshop staff FONG HOK MAN (Paul Chun) always believes that “knowledge is power”. He tries hard to encourage his older son FONG SUM MING (Wayne Lai Yiu Cheung) and his younger son FONG SUM CHING (Eric Suen) to study more. Unfortunately, MING is not good at studying at all and he quits after secondary school. On the other hand, CHING is a very smart boy and MING works hard overseas to support CHING’s further studies on computer sciences in America.

The two brothers return to Hong Kong eventually and they work in the same commercial building. CHING works as a senior network security engineer while MING works as a junior security guard. MAN worries that the difference in their job ranking will hinder their relationship. MING admires a girl YUEN WAI CHUNG (Sonija Kwok) who opens a paper mud figure shop. MAN tries to help MING establish his career by buying a secondhand bookshop for him to operate. However, MAN doesn’t realize that the virtual world is gradually manipulating his family. CHING meets a romanticist TSU HEI MAN (Vivien Yeo) at work which creates misunderstanding between him and his girlfriend, LUI YUEN YI (Shirley Yeung). MAN’s younger daughter FONG SUM MEI (Lily Ho) indulges herself in the virtual world and she is suspected for stealing exam papers on the internet.

After listening to the full CD version of the song being released in Myolie’s [Evolve], I’ve once again fallen in love with the song again XD Myolie and Bosco’s “Thankful for Meeting you” is a very lovey-dovey song and the lyrics are quite simple but it works 🙂 Sounds really soothing and romantic! And so! I’ve decided to post up the lyrics…

Myolie: This is love, pledging to love attentively
Destined to dive into the sea of love synchronised with you

Bosco:
Who is most loved, putting every sentiment into love completely
Having you, everyday is also wonderful

*Both: Forever with you, in the days to come will still only love you
Forever being heart moved, everyday will leave me thinking back to it
Cherish it like a flavour, ability to hold it together and engrave into the mind (always remember it)
Loving you can teach me happiness for a century
Oh Baby I love you. I’ll love you everyday
Forever being heart moved, everyday will leave me thinking back to it
Cherish it like a flavour, ability to hold it together and engrave into the mind (always remember it)
Loving you can teach me happiness for a century, thankful for meeting you*

Myolie: You are my only one, whom I am passionately in love with
Agreed that forever after will sweetly share bedding

Bosco: Who extremely loves me dearly, putting every sentiment into love
me completely
calling my happiness is too clear
Repeat *

CD

3. 時間不等我 Time Doesn’t Wait for Me
4. 幸而 Fortunately
5. 豬小姐 Miss Pig

7. 感激遇到你 (野蠻奶奶大戰戈師奶插曲) (胡杏兒/黃宗澤合唱) Thankful for Meeting you
8. 最難過今天 (野蠻奶奶大戰戈師奶插曲) (胡杏兒/王浩信合唱) Today the Saddest Day

DVD
1. 單身旅行
2. 浪漫世紀 (劇場版)
3. 哪時此刻 (劇場版)

I’ve had a listen to Myolie’s album and I have to say I quite like her voice. It’s much more soothing to the ear, compared to Linda Chung’s. I’ve always wanted the CD version of Wars of In-Laws 2 Sub- “Thankful for Meeting you” so I was quite excited to see it in the list.  The only thing about the album is that there’s only 8 songs, and I’ve heard 4 from previously. I wish they had more song in it.

Having only one week apart, Bosco’s first CD In Love with Bosco is expected to be released on 5 December, 2008!

Publisher: East Asia Music

1. 全角度愛你 Love You Every way
2. Hey Boy
3. 多謝試用 Thank you for trial
4. 忙甚麼 Forgot what
5. 普天同愛
6. 第幾天《賭場風雲》插曲 Which Day (Dicey Business Sub)

With Myolie’s song list being so short, this one has even less! Bosco’s album only has 6 songs, one which includes the Dicey Business Sub Themesong…why 🙁 ?… I am a little disappointed with that thought. I would have also liked it if they added in his themesongs, like from The Price of Greed and Au Revoir Shanghai. News have been around saying he’s been working very hard filming his MV with dancing in it but it doesn’t seem to be released in this album. Perhaps another version may be released later on?

I’m considering purchasing these two albums to show some support but I’m wondering if they’ll release some other versions of it later ^^;

UPDATE: A new version has now been released which includes 3 MVs and a new cover. The one at the top is now no longer being published.

TVB 2009 Calendar!

Click on the images for full-sized Calendar Versions.

[poll id=”39″]

January: Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong, Linda Chung, Kate Tsui

Lively and upbeat for a new start- 2009! Bosco and Raymond really remind me of their CDs though lol

February: Lee See Kei, Susanna Kwan, Michelle Yim,  Kiki Sheung, Nancy Sit

February always seems to go with the red/ traditional outfit theme with the more older actors representing the Month of the Lunar New yea. I can’t say much about them, it just looks like an ordinary group picture…could have been more creative.

March: Charmaine Sheh, Sonjia Kwok, Roger Kwok, Michael Miu

What’s with the two eye drops from Charmaine’s eyes? 0_0? Other than that, this one looks quite decent. Maybe Roger and Michael should have been wearing a suit or something~ more formal to match the ladies.

April: Sunny Chan, Myolie Wu, Joe Ma

I don’t like this head shot one. Very plain…and gives me an unpleasant feeling

May: Kenneth Ma, Yoyo Mung, Selena Li, Shirley Yeung, Chris Lai Lok Yi

80s theme?? It’s different I guess but Shirley just looks so bad ><

June: Steven Ma, Sharon Chan, Kenny Wong, Anna Yau,  Patrick Tang

Everyone looks so happy here that it’s making me smile looking at them ^^

July: Aimee Chan, Kevin Cheng, Ron Ng, Tavia Yeung, Natalie Tong

I quite like this one 😀 The composition is nice with neat matching outfits too ^^

August: Nancy Wu, Koni Lui, Leanne Li, Fala Chen,Tracy Ip, Vivien Yeo, Yoyo Chen, Suki Tsui

Too synchronized for my liking..This one somehow reminds me of the Miss HK one they had last year.

September: Mandy Cho, Michael Tse, Adam Cheng, Christine Ng, Sheren Tang

Adam and Christine are together in the same months again ^^ I really like this calendar too~ very stylish

October: Gallen Lo, Bobby Au Yeung, Bernice Lui, Maggie Siu

The October and November ones seem to be matching, this one having a more casual look. Bernice and Maggie look so nice =D! Bernice looks a bit like Joey Yung here ^^

November: Bowie Lam, Gigi Lai, Ada Choi, Moses Chan

Thumbs up!

December: Liza Wang, Amigo Chui , Matthew Ko, Jason Chan, Benjamin Yuen, Edwin Siu, Stephen Wong

lol! XD Liza seems a little out of place being so much older than the men surrounding her. Love the red and black though.

Currently watching The Gem of Life on a regular basis, I am up to episode 26 and I’m glad to say that despite the story picking up slowly at the beginning, it does eventually get better!

[poll id=”36″]

My interest for the three different storyline have shifted through different stages. At first, watching all three sisters facing problems with their marriage didn’t really engage me. I was rather shocked who their partners (actors) were actually because they were all minor side actors (and not so pleasant looking..like Rocky..ewww.. lol)

I’m surprised I actually like watching Maggie (Sylvia)‘s story the most, as of the moment. I liked the relationship she had with Kenny. He was just so attentive and charming- a true gentlemen, especially the scene where Maggie got drunk and he didn’t take advantage of her. He was always by her side whenever she needed someone and I was sure she would have felt something for him. Maggie always had to put up with Bowie (Kenny’s friend), being her boss who always ‘played’ around with her and made things hard for her. Bowie would always tease Kenny and do little things to pair up him with Maggie because he reckons Kenny likes her (which is true despite the way he denies it).

I was shocked it turns out Maggie and Bowie had actually fallen for each other instead. The two have always been against each other, arguing all the time etc and Maggie got so angry because of him. I never really hated Bowie’s character in the story because he was a fun character but when we learn more about his past, the way he treats his friends and the other ‘soft’ side of him, his character becomes even more likable. Maggie and Bowie’s relationship may not have been so obvious on the surface but I guess they knew from the inside. When Maggie found out everything Bowie did behind the scene to keep her in the company, she was convinced he had feelings for her. She then took out her courage and took initiative-asking him out for dinner at his place.

She dared him XD It was quite entertaining haha..That scene was pretty funny too. Maggie was initially going to cook but she was having some trouble, and Bowie ended up taking over.  Watching Bowie putting so much effort and care to make a delicious feast for her was so sweet. And then, I guess their relationship started 🙂 I must say I do like this couple, but it was also heartbreaking seeing Kenny so sad downstairs as he watches…

So, I guess I like Maggie with either guys. Love watching this love triangle XD (especially since Bowie and Kenny are such good friends as well)

Kenny starts becoming very upset and jealous and it is starting to become obvious to the couple and even decides to quit his job. The two were feeling bad because they didn’t want to lose their friend. When confronted by Sylvia at the end of episode 25, it turns out that the one he loves is actually Bowie 0_0 and couldn’t bare watching the two together!!(omg..I don’t know whether to believe that or he is just saying that >< I’m completely shocked!!)

Onto middle sister- Gigi (Constance),

I thought her first encounter with Moses was quite romantic hehe.

She was feeling down because of her own marriage/Ada’s harsh words and tried on a wedding dress at the store. Moses was also there with his girlfriend, and when Gigi asked out loud to herself in front of the mirror if she looked ok in it, Moses standing her replied “Yes. Looks very nice. Person look is beautiful, dress is beautiful. Also wearing it with confidence, everything is about having confidence, isn’t it?” 🙂 When she went to change back and return the dress, it turns out Moses had paid for the dress as a gift before he left, saying because he felt she looked really nice in it ^^

Later however, I didn’t find Moses and Gigi’s relationship that interesting. Sure they spent time on the ship together but that’s about it. So far for Gigi’s love plot, I was interested when Eddie started chasing her and watching how clueless she was (I thought it was too obvious) I was once again shocked to see Gigi accept him xD I hadn’t expected it..he’s so aggressive and all…what a weird taste in guys! (but that’s her..so..lol)

Now that their relationship is over, I feel Gigi’s love plot is rather dry again. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want her to go back with Eddie, but hopefully something exciting happens with her and Moses. So far she is the least interesting out of the three.

Finally, youngest sister Ada (Jessica).

I enjoyed watching her storyline ever since she declared bankruptcy and her relationship with Ngo Wah started to develop. I wanted to see how she was going to do it~ how she chases for fame and fortune.

I was so shocked when I found out she actually plotted so much to make him fall for her, especially the whole ‘trapped in a cave’ thing, to make him save her. I was also shocked in that scene where she was watching a music concert with him and suddenly a shot is shown with him holding her hands and that wide smile on her face and watery eyes, like “I’ve finally grabbed hold of all the fortune I ever wanted“. It’s kinda scary haha..Seriously, she may admire his intelligence and all but I still think a major factor is his money…

I love watching all the politics going on, especially with Rebbecca (Melissa) also being part of it 🙂 I always felt that she had a thing for Ngo Wah. Another factor was Moses. He hated Ada (because of her scheming character, betrayal of family, love for money etc) and didn’t want her anywhere near his father. I was so shocked (haha how many times have I used the word ‘shocked’?) to find out what Moses had done. He pretended to peruse Ada, deliberately leaking out to the press photos etc to mislead everyone in thinking Ada was his girlfriend, in hope to force his father to back off (to avoid negative press about Ngo Wah stealing his own son’s girlfriend). I wonder what he will do next..

Ada and Ngo Wah’s relationship also seems to be shaky now that Rebbecca (Melissa) told him the things Ada had been scheming back in Thailand..

P.s: Linda’s bitchy character has also appeared. More drama is bound to happen..

The 41st Anniversary Awards are finally out! I stayed up late to watch it live =D I was SO HAPPY with these results!! I’m so glad TVB did something right for once and gave the awards to ones who deserve them! The ones I wanted desperately included- Best Actor HaYu, Best Actress Michelle Yim, Best Supporting Actor Wayne Lai, Best Supporting Actress Tavia Yeung all went to them!! *YAY!!*  Congrats!!!! =D

And Yesh! I will always support you Raymond ^___^

Best Actor Award: Ha Yu (Moonlight Resonance)

Top 5
1. Roger Kwok (D.I.E)
2. Ha Yu (Moonlight Resonance)
3. Moses Chan (Moonlight Resonance)
4. Raymond Lam (Moonlight Resonance)
5. Kevin Cheng (Last One Standing)

I would have felt so sad and ripped off if HaYu didn’t win this award. Before Moonlight, I didn’t really like the roles HaYu played but his performance as JoBao was just ‘wow’- especially those crying scenes. He delivered the character so well that we grew from hating his selfish character so much at the beginning, to accepting him and loving his fatherly role, and hoping he could reunite with his family 🙂  He really deserved this award and he has definitely gained my respect! 😀 Before the Award night, there were various interview clips and I felt that tell HaYu seemed a little upset about the award being potentially given to Raymond when he was the stronger actor. The stood firmly that the Award should go to the best actor, and not determined because of some dinner-contract-or-what-not 🙂  It was also quite comforting to have Lee See Kei present the award to him and how she prepared a tissue for him ^^ As for Raymond, I know he can win this award in the future =D ! I am a little surprised that Moses Chan got into top 5 for his role, while Tavia was put into Supporting Category…I sorta think Damien Lau should have replaced Moses in Top 5. I would also have preferred that Kevin won Best Actor in 2006 for his performance in Last One Standing rather than Under the Canopy of Love lol His performance, along with Roger was awesome, but we all sorta knew it was going to go to someone from Moonlight Resonance.

P.s: It was also interesting to see the competition between Raymond and HaYu among top 5,  since these two are the only 2 out of the 5 who has never won Best Actor Award before.

Best Actress Award: Michelle Yim (Moonlight Resonance)

Top 5
1. Liza Wang (Wars of In-Laws 2)
2. Sonjia Kwok (D.I.E)
3. Linda Chung (A Journey Called Life)
4. Louise Lee See Kei (Moonlight Resonance)
5. Michelle Yim (Moonlight Resonance)

YAY for Michelle!! I always liked Michelle Yim as an actress and her performance as Yan Hong was just awesome. Like HaYu, I felt Michelle truly deserved the award and she wanted the award desperately too. She was very hopeful and I’m glad she won it =D
The presenters for this award were very entertaining haha, they kept talking about the veterans’ age, back in 19xx when they were ‘young’ XD (I must add I’m still so attracted to Michelle’s beauty, especially for her age XD haha) The nominations for Best Actress Award this year were really competitive. I was surprised that Susanna being one of the three in MR being highly popular for the award didn’t get into top 5…I’m happy for Linda getting in top 5 for her role in Journey Called Life- I’m still moved by the scene where she was crying as she was calling out to her dead baby..it was so realistic. I also liked Liza’s O-jie performance in WOIL2~ and felt kinda bad for her when she looked upset throughout the night, knowing she didn’t have much chance taking the award home because of Moonlight Resonance’s popularity (Same went with Roger)

Best Supporting Actor: Wayne Lai (The Gentle crackdown 2)

Top 5
1. Tsui Wing (Best Selling Secrets)
2. Derek Kwok (Wars of In-Laws 2)
3. Wayne Lai (The Gentle Crackdown 2)
4. Chow Chung (Moonlight Resonance)
5. Him Law (Your Class or Mine)

I’ve never really highly regarded the Best Supporting Actor and Actress Award- Mainly because for previously years, I felt that they went to people whom I didn’t think deserve them. The Best Supporting Actor/Actress Award should be highly regarded- just like those of Best Actor and Actress (except taken on the Supporting roles)- but this year, the quality of the award has finally been brought back up to its highly regarded status because of the two most deserving winners 😀 Congratulations to Wayne!! YAY!! I’m so happy for him!! He is one of the Best Supporting Actors TVB has and I’m glad he is finally getting recognised! I also liked all the cheers and applause he had =) I’m excited to hear that he’ll be taking a lead role next year!

On a side not, I think its silly that Him Law is even in Top 5 ..especially compared to Wayne Lai- I’m laughing. There are others more deserving..

Best Supporting Actress Award: Tavia Yeung (Moonlight Resonance)

Top 5
1. Nancy Wu (Silver Chambers of Sorrow)
2. Tavia Yeung(Moonlight Resonance)
3. Fala Chen (Moonlight Resonance)
4. Kate Tsui (Moonlight Resonance)
5. Lee Heung Kam (Moonlight Resonance)

YAY for Tavia!!! 😀 !! She’s finally being recognized *tears* lol I really liked her performance as Ah Yuet from MR and her acting is just awesome, especially those crying scenes. I also loved Fala and Lee Heung Kam and I thought it was just so sweet of Tavia to especially mention Lee Heung Kam – that she was, in her heart, the Best Supporting Actress ^___^ Fala so hugged her and I felt it was really comforting and geninue~

P.s: I love Tavia’s purple dress :3

Most Favourite Male Character Award: Raymond Lam (Moonlight Resonance)

Top 5
1. Kenneth Ma (Survivor’s Law 2)
2. Roger Kwok (D.I.E)
3. Michael Tse (Money Making Recipe)
4. Ha Yu(Moonlight Resonance)
5. Raymond Lam (Moonlight Resonance)

I love ‘Goon Ga Jai’!! XD Go Raymond!! His character was just sooo sweet!! I’m so happy he won this award, especially how he didn’t win it last year with his Alfred character which I also loved.

I’m a bit speechless seeing Michael Tse on top 5 for his Money Making Recipe role =X

Most Favourite Female Character Award

Top 5
1. Charmaine Sheh (Word Twisters Adventures)
2. Louise Lee See Kei(Moonlight Resonance)
3. Susanna Kwan (Moonlight Resonance)
4. Fala Chen (Moonlight Resonance)
5. Linda Chung (Legend of Demigods)

Once again this category is quite competitive. I like all the characters in top 5  but we all have to love HorMa though 🙂

If only Fala got a bigger role…

Most Improved Actress Award: Nancy Wu

Top 5
1. Selena Li
2. Nancy Wu
3. Toby Leung
4. Sharon Chan
5. Tavia Yeung

I was actually hoping Selena would win it for this category, but I guess I haven’t seen Silver Chambers of Sorrow to really judge Nancy’s performance. I did like her in Demigods though and I’ve seen her hard efforts put into Strictly Come Dancing 2 so I’m happy she won. As long as it didn’t go to Toby(especially) or Sharon I’m over the moon lol

Most Improved Actor Award: Wong Cho Lam

1. Wong Cho Lam
2. Johnson Lee
3. Tsui Weng
4. Derek Kwok
5. Oscar Leung

I loved his speech XD He was so hilarious! XD He seems to have achieved a lot and its great to see such enthusiastic TVB artist!

Best Series Award: Moonlight Resonance

Top 3
1. Best Selling Secrets
2. D.I.E
3. Moonlight Resonance
I’m surprised Best Selling Secrets got into top 3 lol Other than that, I don’t have much more to add than to congratulate the whole MR crew for such a great production for us to watch. Its ability for its sequel to exceed its Preque and peaking 50s rating is a great achievement!
I wonder why Wayne didn’t go on stage with the rest of the crew..?

Lifetime Achievement Honour Award: Paul Chun

I’ve always like Paul Chun as a Supporting Actor 🙂 I like his presence in TVB series because of the familiarity we have with him. I think this Lifetime award must be very special~ and I’m happy for him =) I agree with what he said about the award..it felt like TVB was saying that he was going to retire soon or something but I’m glad he has reassured acting being his interest and he wil continue to act, act and act! 😀

Popularity Award: Raymond Lam
YAY for Raymond winning two awards!! 😀 I feel Raymond really deserves this award…Everyone knows how popular he has gone, so even if he didn’t win Best Actor, we all know he’s a favourite in many people’s heart. We’re supporting you Raymond, so never give up and continue to work hard!!! =D
Fashion Attraction Award: Myolie Wu

I think this award is kinda random..was it only based on what she wore that night or throughout her TVB career? Doesn’t make much sense if you ask me, and I feel like its a side-award just to keep her happy…

All in all, this years award results are truly deserving and I think everyone’s happy with it =D My favourite presenters included: Adam Cheng, Michael Lai, Bak Biu (for Best Actress Award),  Anthony Wong(for Best Supporting Actress), Eric Tsang, Louis Yuen, Wong Cho Lam (Favourite Female Character Award). They were all so entertaining 😀 I thought Francis Ng and Dicky Cheung were a little awkward…lol

My favourite part of the show was actually the first bit when the nominees started coming out in threes and making a small promotion/intro for themselves 😀 i wished the audience gave more reaction though ahah
