The focus of these episodes moves away from Anita and Gallen and more onto Ray’s relationships – love triangles and challenge he faces at work. I felt  kinda glad there was a bit of a break off Anita/ Gallen/Joe  since they were heavily focused in Episode 10- keeps things live and refreshing when we will see them again. I have to say Anita and Joe are also really compatible and I’m surprised how much I enjoy seeing the two happily together ^^ I just hope for the best for them and think it is best Gallen just leave Anita alone…

Joe and Anita officially come out to the family as a couple. Gallen was forced to congratulate them.

Joe asks Anita to marry him in Episode 15 but she avoids answering him.

After seeing that he lost Anita to Joe, Gallen becomes really annoyed (did he really think he can have both love and money?) and he decides to continue  pursuing his goal of making a fortune. While at work, he comes across some confidential insider information about a takeover and “illegally” purchases a  stack of shares before the announcement of the takeover! This shows how inexperienced (or  desperate) Gallen is for taking such a big risk!!! On the day Marcus was supposed to receive the Outstanding Banker Award- this news gets leaked out and Marcus – as the CEO- ends up having to face the consequences ><! Not only did it damage the bank’s reputation but all the director’s were questioning Marcus’ ability as CEO. While the bank shares were falling due to the negative news- this also opened up the opportunity for their competitors  to use this chance to attack them.

When Marcus finds out it was Gallen who did it he becomes really angry and disappointed at him. I was slightly shocked to see Marcus act in that way because we often see him act nice and patiently with Gallen. I felt so sorry for Marcus having to put up with all the pressure and potential liability of committing fraud because he felt it was his responsibility for not bringing up Gallen properly and that the family owed him- so he would not point Gallen out.  Gallen really annoyed me when he became such a coward and didn’t want to help Marcus. He considered just running away because he was didn’t want to go to jail, nor let his identity revealed. I understand those are really big issues that Gallen does not really know how to deal with or face but when you compare him with Kenneth, it makes you wonder how much conscience does Gallen really has. You just can’t help by adore Kenneth even more XD He is the most innocent, naive character in the series <3 He is really  sweet and genuine and he tries to convince Gallen not to treat ‘his brother’ Marcus  like that since he is nice to them..

I was more disappointed for Marcus when Gallen revealed he did not trust him, and believed he would point him out when he went to the US. What’s worse in this whole situation is the fact Gallen isn’t even his brother!

On the other hand, Kenix is starting to really get on my nerves!! Unlike before when Kenix was loving Ray from afar- is she aggressively  pursuing Ray and determined to come in between Ray and Connie- taking over her family !!

Rosanne begs for mercy, but after giving her the cold shoulder, she explodes in anger and hatred. All she ever wanted was to become the Head of Palace Proceedings, and seeing as Susanna has become a threat she wanted to rid her. She laughs insanely and hastily kills herself to avoid any torturing. Wow, how ugly :/

Charmaine is working hard elsewhere, who seem to be getting along with the other girls. June suddenly approaches, saying Charmaine deserves to be punished, degrading her character along with Tavia. Charmaine gets upset when June starts insulting Tavia, and speaks back at her. I thought this was a nice change as we don’t see Charmaine talk back very often! June deliberately knocks into her, pushing her onto the ground. Her hand smashed right onto a stone, which leaves it in a serious condition! She then pours water all over her! What a bitch!! This made me pretty angry, but what followed was even more of a shocker..

It turns out Kwok Lun told her to do so, in exchange for a higher position. Being the villain that he is, Kwok Lun turns backs on his words, and not only dobs her into Moses for harming Charmaine, he tortures her to the point she’s barely recognisable!! What an awful scene! Surely what she done was very wrong…but to be punished this cruelly brings evilness to a whole new level (Frankly, I’d rather die..) This shocks both Moses and Kevin, who are both suspicious Kwok Lun is the one behind it. Moses asks June if someone ordered her to do so, and to not be afraid to speak the truth. However, June has been muted by Kwok Lun! He essentially does all the talking, completely accusing June for her evil-doing and is sent away. Kwok Lun is definitely one to fear. Well, I’m sure June is gone for good this time..and has no one to blame except for her own selfishness 🙁 What an eye-opener!

Charmaine is in tears realising she cannot move her hand, which could potentially be disabled for life. All her talent would be gone to waste making her feel like a worthless person 🙁 Tavia stays by her and tries to comfort her.

Moses continues to deal with Kwok Lun, trying to keep him pleased, yet not let things get out of control. We witness a very interesting power-play here, whereby it continually shifts from one to the other through dialogue and gesture. It’s quite an interesting watch actually- though a bit worrying. My only comfort comes from knowing Moses shouldn’t die anytime soon since it’s only episode 12..lol. I know, that’s kind of cheating but hey it’s TVB.

Anyways, let’s get started on [Beyond the Realm of Conscience] Episode 12 synopsis!

Since Charmaine’s rejection, Kevin has learned from his father the reason behind Charmaine’s decision. However, unlike the past, he understands running away is no longer a viable option. He realises Moses is still only in the early stages and will need all the support he can get. Once things have stablised, he will confess to Moses his true feelings for Charmaine, and hopefully receive his blessings to officially be together!  Charmaine and Kevin are overjoyed and are very hopeful 🙂

Suddenly, a masked man in black jumps in to kill them! Kwok Lun shortly arrives with his guards, capturing the intruder and instantly killing him. (err..he loves killing people before they can explain themselves, doesn’t he? Who is this masked man? Something very suspicious going on here…) While he’s here, he dobs the pair for illegally developing a romance! Charmaine and Kevin deny any affection and explains why they were there at that time. The two are sent to Moses, who attempts to brush it off as a minor issue, but Kwok Lun persistently tries to get Charmaine into trouble (and making up fake evidence). Although Moses wants to help them, it has become difficult keeping Kwok Lun content.

Michelle, Susanna and Tavia seek Mary’s help, but even her capability is limited. Eventually after much negotiation, including sacrificing some of Moses’s properly/land to him, Charmaine escapes death penalty. However, she is required to undergo hard labor for a month as punishment (same position as June).

After a short encounter with Michelle and Yi Kei, Susanna receives a box of food from Michelle, who says Mary asked it to be distributed between them. After randomly grabbing one out of the two boxes, she heads back into her room, where she starts eating it. Tavia walks in chat to Susanna when she starts coughing out blood! The food she consumed gave her poisoning!

In episode 11 of [Beyond the Realm of Conscience] the plot starts getting a bit heavy, and new characters are introduced! I thought this episode was a little dry, as it’s in a transitional stage with Moses becoming the Emperor. One part of me thinks it’s great Moses is the Emperor, but another side of me is a bit concerned… Things probably aren’t as good as it may first appear to be.

Susan interrupts Moses from claiming the thrown. She bluntly points out how ridiculous it is for Moses, a mentally challenged 10 year old to be the ruler. Susan challenges them all, standing strong to her objection, even leaving Kwok Lun and the General in loss for words. The table suddenly turns when Moses finally speaks up, shocking everyone with his intelligent words! He speaks in a very calm and mature manner, leaving everyone completely speechless! haha! It was priceless watching everyone dumbfounded. Gotta say this was the highlight of the episode. It renders Susan’s claim irrelevant and Moses successfully becomes the Emperor. (By the way, does anyone else think the eye liner is totally unnecessary and unappealing? :S)

Afterward, Moses thanks Kwok Lun (The Head of Army) for helping him, offering him tea as a sign of his gratitude. Kwok Lun ungratefully sets it aside, showing no respect for him. Kwok Lun makes it clear that he was the one who made him who is today, and is essentially under his control. Moses doesn’t dare to object to any of his desires… uh-oh! This isn’t looking good for him..

Moses takes this opportunity to thank both Kevin and Charmaine for supporting him all this time. They are the only two people he trusts and hopes Kevin is willing to assist him as his body guard. He acknowledges there are challenging and tough times ahead. Although initially concerned by his capability, Kevin agrees to do everything he can to help him 🙂 Moses also hopes Charmaine will treat him like she always has, as her good friend. (Now that Moses is the Emperor, I wonder if he’ll take Charmaine as his concubine? )

Message from K: Hey guys~ sorry for the slow blog entries for Born Rich! I have been really REALLY busy and haven’t had much time to watch it (hence my inability to share my thoughts with everyone >< gomensai!)  I will continue to be on this busy mode until the Christmas break~You guys are probably way ahead of me now so please don’t spoil it for me 🙂 I also heard the ratings haven’t been doing so well in HK…do I still have my Born Rich supporters since my Episode1-5 thoughts ? Or have you guys  moved across to Beyond already? ^^ I haven’t touched Beyond yet so I’m not sure! I heard from chibi that the ‘love’ aspects in Beyond is a little lacking though; and I’m happy to say- Born Rich is enriched with lots of love triangles and chemistry between the characters- so GO Born Rich!

These five episodes have been quite exciting, especially episode 7 and episode 10! They had a lot of Anita, Gallen and Joe focus!

Gallen manages to successfully gain Nancy ‘s sympathy and trust when they fatefully end up finding Nancy’s husband’s burial! To be honest, it really does seem like it was fated. Out of all possibilities and searches; one trip with Nancy has successfully helped him win over the identity of ‘Yatming’.  (What was Gallen’s actual initial plan taking her to the mountains anyway?)  Nancy brings him back to Hong Kong and decides to accept him as part of her family. She also wants to make him the best he could be and she loves him a lot. It’s truly amazing that Gallen was able to win her heart..this is the object of her husband and another woman who he was having an affair with, yet she defends for him so much like her own son. Gallen not only wins the support of Nancy (who has grudges against Joe), but also Kenix’s father who has grudges against Ray. This will definitely help Gallen climb up the ladder a lot more easier.

The 10th episode of [Beyond the Realm of Conscience] sees a turn of events! This one focuses heavily on Charmaine & Kevin’s relationship which I’m sure fans of the pairing will enjoy. I’m not a fan of the two, but even I have to admit I enjoyed their little romance, lol.. so hopefully you’ll enjoy it too! The overall plot is also continually moving forward, so let’s get started 🙂

The news that Susan and Edwin intend to kill off both Moses and Mary get leaked, and consequently Charmaine finds out through 布吉祥 (played by Ram Chiang 蔣志光). She becomes extremely worried and saddened by the news, feeling hopeless that she cannot warn them. At this moment, Kevin sees her troubled face and consoles her. Unable to hide it anymore, she confides to him about Moses being in danger and the truth that he is not actually mentally ill, nor diagnosed with the disease. It was all for the purpose of survival, but now all that may have been done in vain. Kevin promises to do everything he can to help her.

Moses and Mary had co-incidentally planned to escape that night, but the Palace guards have already been sent to kill them! Moses fights back using the martial arts Kevin taught him, and was able to fend some off. However, it wasn’t enough as there were too many of them. Luckily Kevin arrives just in the nick of time! The guards are all killed, but Kevin is seriously injured in the process..

From Ram, Charmaine learns that Kevin has been hurt. She becomes worried and offers to help Ram take his medicine to him. She enters his room but he wasn’t there. She discovers blood stain on his bed and then notices Kevin struggling as he walks back in. She rushes to his aid, holding onto his arms to which he subtly smiles to. However, he soon collapses and Charmaine takes him in her care. She stays by his side for the whole night and nurtures him. Finally when he awakens, Charmaine gets up for some water, but he grabs tightly onto her hands. I’m really enjoying the tension between them.. what chemistry!
