Beauty Knows No pain

Synopsis

WONG HOI KING (Michelle Yim) is successful in both career and love life. However, she accidentally discovers that her husband CHIN KWONG LUNG (Dominic Lam) is committing adultery. In order to maintain the relationship, KING is willing to take the risk of getting pregnant despite her high age. Pregnancy has imposed great pressure on her daily life as well as her career. Her aggressive subordinate SA YUEN KEI (Maggie Cheung) therefore seizes the chance to take up her duties. KEI is a bold and decisive person at work but she is caught in a quadrangular relationship by falling in love with the married man KO CHI LIK (Joe Ma).

Discouraged by the relationship failures of her bosses, secretary YU MAN YAU (Joyce Tang) further loses her confidence. YAU always has a sense of inferiority because of her “outstanding” body shape. Encouraged by her colleague CHI NAM (Power Chan), YAU decides to boost her self-esteem by getting plastic surgery. She immediately becomes the sexiest goddess on the Internet and the hottest brand spokesperson in town. After getting famous and rich, YAU suddenly realizes that this is not what she really wants…

Raymond Lam’s New Album [Come 2 Me]!

Woo!! Raymond’s 4th album is finally releasing!!  Like last year, this album is releasing just before his 2nd concert- being the name of the album, concert theme, and its themesong “Come 2 Me” 😀 So excited!!

It’s expected to release on 17 July 2010 (in a couple of days!) this month and available for pre-ordering @ Yesasia! There’s currently 2 different editions/covers- one being a “Special Version” (the one on the right)

Come 2 MeRaymond Lam Come 2 Me (Special Version)

I can’t quite tell the difference between these two versions except I think the special version is supposed to be bigger. I’d like a bigger album but I prefer the first cover more. I think he looks like in a slightly awkward position in the 2nd one ^^;

The CD will include the following songs:
01. Hello
02. Come 2 Me
03. Rain Drops
04. 我們很好 (Sub Themesong to Growing Though Life)
05. Morning Cute
06. Flashback
07. 定鏡
08. Vampire
09. Out Of Reach
10. 所謂理想 (Themesong to Growing Through Life)
11. 一直都在 (林峯 + 蔡卓妍)
12. Slow Motion
13. 直到你不找我 (Themesong to Mysteries of Love)
14. 同謀
15. The Beginning Is The End

I love how Raymond always releases all new songs in his albums! And they’re albums- not EPs 😀 As expected, the album includes the Themesong to The Mysteries of Love (Track 13) and his upcoming Sub Themesong for  “To Grow through Life” (Track 4 “We are well”) He will also be performing a Duet with Ah Sa (Track 11) which I’m anticipating as well. Can’t wait to hear his lovely voice again! His previous albums have not disappointed, so I have confidence in his album too =)

Please support Raymond Lam and Pre-order your copy from YesAsia now ! 😀

Hi everyone, Chibi here with a TVB drama guest review! I’ve recently finished watching TVB [Sisters of Pearl] and put this review together in hopes it will be an interesting and insightful look into the story and characters (along with my thoughts). Though TVB consistently pumps out drama after drama, there are usually only a handful really worth chasing. Read on to see if [Sisters of Pearl] makes the cut, and whether or not this unlikely cast is a make or break deal (Surely I wasn’t the only one who raised an eyebrow upon seeing this image? XD)
Warning: May contain some spoilers, though minimal

Sisters of Pearl review

The Story

Basic Plot
A pre-modern drama series about a rich (and somewhat twisted) family who runs a pearl family business. The whole story revolves around the family members, consisting of the three sisters Kiki, Jessica and Macy along with Bowie (Kiki’s husband) and their cousin, Michael. Most (if not all) of the members are eyeing on the family fortune and will take extreme measures to get their ‘fair’ share. To complicate matters; Joyce, a mysterious woman claims to be  their late father’s mistress, pregnant with his child. With another threat in their way, who will come out on top? With so much bitterness, grudges and hatred, you almost forget they’re actually a family.

Well paced and leaving you wanting for more, [Sisters of Pearl] does a brilliant job in keeping the audience hanging. Often quite witty, the power-play between all the characters was remarkably interesting and amusing. Within an episode, within minutes- a character’s alliance shifts as they each make a move for the own selfish gains. It can be rather unpredictable at times as the winner varies from case to case, making the audience switch sides with the characters too. There’s a load of backstabbing and plotting, to the point where I find myself constantly frowning while watching the show. It definitely has a serious mood, and watching all these characters lose their minds with their extreme actions leaves me in disbelief at times.  Can someone be this evil?

The Mysteries of Love

[poll id=”80″]

The pairings’ relationship and characters are quite a contrast to one another. Which were your favourite pairing in the series? Since there are a lot of Fungyi fans out there I have a feeling they are going to win by a mile lol This is the first time I’ve seen the Raymond x Tavia pairing (other than Golden Faith which I could barely remember) and it feels as though they’re more like friends than lovers…not much happens really lol

The Mysteries of Love

Anyways, my vote goes to Lo Sir and his limited scenes with Nickole. I guess it’s just much more exciting watching this couple having their on and off relationship~and how Nickole eventually falls for him. Lo Sir (or should I call him Gordan instead?) is such a sweet talker XD For some odd reason, it feels as though Gordan and Lo Sir are two different people..

Would it be sweet if Sai Lei Mui and Lo Sir were a couple XD

Rushing along the road every day with a vibrant mix of passengers of all kinds, what taxi drivers see and hear is far more varied than one can ever imagine. Retired taxi driver HO KAU (Kent Cheng) returns to the job after his son HO KA-PO (Raymond Wong) is convicted of causing death by dangerous driving. Before long, he has another serious road accident, in which KAU is also involved and severely injured, both mentally and physically. PO feels so guilty towards his father and comes to understand the importance of careful driving. He maintains a high degree of vigilance while driving but still gets picked on constantly by female traffic police officer KO LAI-SAM (Kate Tsui). As time goes by, the pair have gradually developed a strong attachment to each other and finally become lovers. But PO’s ex-girlfriend CHEUNG HIU-MAN (Sonija Kwok) and SAM’s grandmother KO LI SHUK-CHING (Lee Heung Kam) turn out to be the biggest obstacle to their relationship, leaving the pair stranded in dismay along the tunnel of love…

A Fistful of Stances- Episode 11
Another cute scene between Selena and Kenneth. I enjoy watching Kenneth flirt with her and consistently teasing “is it because you’ve fallen for me?” XD

A Fistful of Stances- Episode 11
Not that we really needed TVB to tell us that Natalie had feelings for Kevin, but this scene was cute XD When Natalie overheard Kevin mention he is already married she becomes upset. When she realised he was joking, she couldn’t help but show a sweet smile on her face.

A Fistful of Stances- Episode 11
The above scene was pretty sad and touching. Love the bond the two of them share!
