Crime Unit Senior Inspector, YIU HOK-SUM (Bowie Lam) has learnt his mind reading skills overseas. He is efficient and, by far, the most competent cop in his unit. He is able to analyze and read people’s minds just by observing their body language, facial expressions and from the tone of voice. In addition, he is also highly skilled when spotting disparities in testimonies and evidence.

However, his teammates find him to be a real pain in the neck. New comers, YIP CHIN-TING (Krystal Tin) and HO LAI-YIN (Bosco Wong) are especially annoyed by the unconventional way in which he does things. As a result, the pair often has confrontations and misunderstandings with the inspector. The Comeback Clan

Synopsis

Severely hit by the financial turmoil in Hong Kong, TAI KU-TUNG’s (Ha Yu) restaurant is running short of capital while YIP MO-SING (Benz Hui) is interested in acquiring the restaurant’s location. He decides to invest in it, ignorant of the restaurant’s financial situation.

With the restaurant’s problem temporarily solved, TUNG concentrates on working out new dishes and ideas for the restaurant. He discovers TSUI HEI-HEI (Kikki Sheung), a novice cook with a signature egg fried rice recipe. She even wins the appreciation of the Michelin food critic experts. As a result, TUNG treats her extremely well.

One day, a bank representative, LEI YUNG-CHI (Christine Ng) pops into the restaurant and claims that HEI has a debt with the bank. She picks a fight with CHI in a heated argument. In the fight, HEI is injured and loses her memory.

For fear of losing the restaurant’s reputation, TUNG decides to put on a show and pretends to be HEI’s elder brother while SING acts as her husband. Cello teacher YIP TSIK-LEUNG (Sammul Chan) plays HEI’s son and his girlfriend, TAI YING-LEI (Natalie Tong) is assigned the role of HEI’s cousin.

In the meantime, YUNG is fired from the bank but now claims that she is a shareholder and plans to reform the entire restaurant. Now all three owners want to make decisions but all three have different ideas. A triangular power struggle is developed in the process.

Warning: Ending Spoiler!! [All my posts contain spoilers, but this is the ending, so an extra warning message ^__^]

Raymond and Ziqi in Growing Through Life

  • Raymond and Lai Ging finally get together in episode 26 =) These two are a fun bickering couple and I found it cute how even though Lai Ging said she wouldn’t bother him again, she’d always be back by his side.
  • In the scene where they got together, they had another argument when Lai Ging tried to make Damian remember Raymond was his son. Raymond yelled at her saying “It’s none of your business-who are you to me anyway?” This situation happened to them so many times and as Lai Ging angry walks off, Raymond starts saying to himself “Yea, and then you’ll walk away and faint somewhere again” XD (haha exactly what I was thinking!) Raymond then chases after her where he calls out “Ok! Let’s get back together!” Lai Ging: “You said we never even dated, what do you mean get back together?” Raymond: “Well we never dated and you said to break up” XD I’m really happy for Lai Ging hehe Raymond returned the necklace to her, saying that even though he didn’t initially intend to buy it for her, she liked it a lot and learned to treasure it- he realised she was the one who suited the necklace the most. She had never left him no matter what =)

It’s that time of the year again! Sydney TVB Jadeworld Carnival was held yesterday @ Kogarah, where Joe Ma, Michael Tse and Susanna Kwan appeared 🙂 Since my exams are coming up, I couldn’t find the time to see them so I didn’t end up going. I found some clips someone posted up on youtube though, and it appears that Susanna sang both Moonlight Resonance and Heart of Greed Themesong, Laughing Gor singing EU themesong & Joe Ma singing Born Rich themesong. Did anyone go this year? I know it didn’t appear as popular compared to previous years~ Do share your thoughts if you did! 🙂

Michael Tse, Susanna Kwan, Joe Ma @ Sydney Sussex Centre

Today the three stars appeared again at the Sussex Centre Autograph session!! 😀 I didn’t win a ticket this time but decided to pop by to see them anyway. Funnily enough, I wasn’t as excited to see the one I was anticipating the most- Michael Tse’s Laughing Gor, but instead ..it was JOE MA!! XD XD He totally made my day hahah – he is so charming! XD Joe Ma was sitting right in front of where I was standing and he constantly smiled and waved at me… lots of eye contact haha It was pretty funny, I was fan-girling all over again lol I was pointing at his autograph photos and he gave me a funny “frown face” and his body language showed me he wanted to, but couldn’t leave his seat XD (and because of the body guards) The best memory of the day was when I..(out of nowhere) suddenly yelled out “TOPMAN!!!” XD XD And Joe instantly looked up at me with a funny smile-he was SO AMUSED! His reaction was so cute XD Too bad I didn’t capture that on video haha I don’t think he was expecting anyone to remember him from Born Rich which was from a year ago, nor his character. I could tell he was really happy that someone called out his character’s name hehe. That was slightly embarrassing though, the other girls around just turned and looked at me- I think there was a little laughter/giggle when I yelled that out and then I got embarrassed, especially after I realised the camera man was facing me (seriously I hope I don’t go on TV or something +_+) but no regrets of course- just for you TOPMAN!! lol

As I am really busy during this period and do not have enough time to spend on this blog, I’ll be jotting down my thoughts on the TVB series as quick scribbles. This will ensure you’ll get more regular updates from me :) Apologies for the draft-ness of my upcoming posts. Hope you guys enjoy what I have to share! [Contains spoilers]

  • I absolutely loved these episodes!! I think the story is really exciting and reaching its peak!! These had some of the best emotional scenes (including episode 20 of course) and I definitely hope the ratings have increased because the performances delivered by Damien, Cecilia and Raymond were simply brilliant! During these episodes I felt all the emotional pain from all three of them-it felt so real and I was completely drawn into the series. Hopefully the final episodes won’t disappoint 🙂
  • Cecilia was going to give up on taking revenge and the anger after Raymond’s mother passed away. Unfortunately  Bosco started manipulating her into thinking Damien loves Raymond’s mother the most and even though she died, she won’t be able to “take her place” and is planning to give everything to Raymond..while at the same time, misleading her to thinking Raymond is plotting to take down the entire company which will leave her daughter nothing.
  • Growing Through life

  • Determined that Damian was the cause of his mother’s death, Raymond negotiates with the other shareholders and undertakes business dealings with the  “support” from Bosco in order to go against Damian to strip his director/CEO position! At the same time, Bosco tricks Raymond into signing a contract where he was forced to forfeit all his shares in ‘Wing Ho”. At the end, Cecilia stepped out and took over the director/CEO position kicking out both Damian and Raymond!
  • Cecilia then revealed the “secret” to both Damian and Raymond…
  • Growing Through life

  • Bosco continues to manipulate and pull strings, making Cecilia think everyone is against her, especially Damian and that he (Bosco) is the only one she can trust.  She even tried to give up her position to Bosco, but luckily Damian was able to convince the other shareholders not to due to the negative impact it would have on the company.
  • Raymond realised that Bosco had betrayed him, however they still haven’t really spoken to each other since. Raymond was losing his ways after learning the truth, and Bosco continued to be “busy” at work. I wonder when/whether Raymond would confront him…?

    Growing Through Life

  • 2/3 way through the series already! I can just feel all the “drama” building up and about to KABOOM and explode lol
  • A lot happened during these episodes. There was a lot of focus on Bosco, Toby and Cecilia. Shortly after Bosco started pursuing Toby, she gets into a serious car accident, causing her legs to become disabled.
  • Bosco seized this opportunity to “show his continuous love and support” for Toby. This eventually moves Toby and her parents and the two become a couple.
  • It’s kind of strange watching Bosco and Toby together. I don’t see the two as a couple  because from our perspective, everything is a lie. We can clearly see he does not love Toby at all and is simply using her, yet is able to deceive everyone else so well that no one suspects him. With the support from Bosco and her family, Toby undergoes treatment and she slowly recovers and is able to walk again…From watching this whole situation, I am actually grateful that Bosco was there and gave her the courage to continue to live on. I don’t know what Toby would do without him. Does anyone think the “good  Bosco” would have been there for Toby out of sympathy..?I wonder if Bosco will eventually fall in love with Toby for real..?
  • I absolutely loved Cecilia’s acting in these episodes. All those emotions from all the devastation were expressed really well.
  • Firstly she  was traumatized by her daughter’s condition, causing the baby inside her to become unstable. She was also the one who did the hard bit by telling her daughter that she has become disabled! Feeling completely helpless, her suspicions also started to arise and she starts to suspect Damien and Raymond’s mother’s relationship from various clues.. The whole world felt like it was falling on her and I really felt sorry for her. The scene where she went crazy digging through Damian’s thing-determined to find evidence of  his “affair” with Raymond’s mother was so sad to watch..she became a total mess and eventually finds a box. She was so scared to open it and be confronted with “the truth”. She eventually does to find photos of her and Damien during their anniversaries together. I was SO RELIEVED!! I seriously did not want Cecilia to find out because I know it will shatter all the happiness she has.. It was also very comforting and reassuring when Damien showed Cecilia a lot of love and care and “told her” about he went out of Raymond’s mother in the past to clear any further suspicion she had..unfortunately the inevitable happened. Bosco emailed over the blood test results to Cecilia, revealing Damien and Raymond’s father and son relationship!! Because of this, Cecilia loses focus and accidentally falls down the stairs, losing her baby 🙁 I was actually relieved it wasn’t Bosco who pushed her down the stairs … Read the rest of this entry »
