Novice nun WAI-LAM (Tavia Yeung) and her fellow apprentice WAI-YU (Cilla Kung) are eager to borrow money to treat their abbess’ illness. By accident, they get to know a wealthy heir of a bank, TO CHUN-FUNG (Kenneth Ma), and are forced to become maids of TO’s family so as to pay off their debt. WAI-LAM is a highly skilled martial artist, and she constantly helps mischievous CHUN-FUNG clean up his messes. Although the two do not agree with each other, they often offer mutual support to one another at a crucial moment, and thereby, unintentionally, develop a close friendship. Later on, CHUN-FUNG gets unexpected help and becomes a head magistrate. At first he thinks he is going to move smoothly up the officialdom ladder with help and attention from his governor brother TO CHUN-MING (Joel Chan) and good friend FONG KWAI-CHEUNG (Benjamin Yuen). Gradually, he starts feeling that he is under the stranglehold of the deep-rooted political corruption and outrageous abuse of power. CHO CHING (Myolie Wu) and her mother CHO CHO BAI-YUET (Gigi Wong) lead vagrant lives by practicing medicine everywhere, during which they get to know KAI CHUN (Ron Ng), a man with a skin disease, and their fellow villager, CHIN TUNG (Him Law), respectively. Falling in love with CHIN TUNG at first sight, CHO CHING tries by all means to marry him, unfortunately, the matriarch of the vinegar brewery, CHIN SHEUNG (Alice Chan), thwarts her plan at all costs, because she is still nursing a grudge against BAI-YUET. Having recovered from his illness, KAI CHUN comes up with an idea, successfully helping CHO CHING get what she wants. CHO CHING thinks she is able to settle down once and for all after marriage, to her surprise, CHIN TUNG loves a maid called SHAN CHA (Eliza Sum) so dearly. CHO CHING then seizes the opportunity to make a muddle of things between them, yet somehow, her action results in CHIN TUNG having a relationship with SHAN CHA. CHIN TUNG takes SHAN CHA as his concubine, which makes CHO CHING burn up with jealousy, adding fuel to the fire even more. Out of the blue, on the heels of a decomposed body being recovered, BAI-YUET is accused of having murdered her husband and sentenced to death. The CHIN family demands CHO CHING to sever ties with her mother BAI-YUET for fear of damaging their reputation. In the meantime, CHO CHING finds herself pregnant, which, however, renders her enmeshed in a divorce battle……

Leading the Special Duties Unit/Flying Tigers, CHIN HON-TO (Joe Ma) continues to cooperate closely with team members such as YU HOK-LAI (Him Law), CHONG CHEUK-YUEN (Oscar Leung) and SO MAN-KEUNG (Mandy Wong) confronting new challenges non-stop. The newly appointed Chief Inspector of Police, POON CHI-LUNG (Timmy Hung) shows a completely different tenor of his ways compared to the previous one, so all the team members have to adapt all over again. During the operation to save the hostages, HON-TO runs into the undercover cop CHUNG WAI-YAN (Linda Chung), who is being hunted down by gangsters, and her intelligence and courage leave a very good impression on HON-TO. HON-TO helps WAI-YAN resume her duties in the Criminal Intelligence Bureau (CIB), thereafter, the two start developing romantic feelings for each other.
