Yes Sir, Sorry Sir!

Synopsis

Despite the fact that he comes from a long line of disciplined workers, LAW YIU-WAH (Moses Chan) is a teacher of a notorious school. One day, he was urged to resign after being vilified by his students as a peeping Tom.

At present, the triads have expanded their drug network at local schools. WAH, who has turned a cop, is told to go undercover at the school where he used to teach.

At school, he is impressed by the enthusiasm of a new teacher HO MIU-SUET (Tavia Yeung). He also comes to realize he was too strict with his students in the past. With a determination to boost students’ confidence, SUET invites bowling expert KOO KA-LAM (Linda Chung) to teach bowling at the school.

When LAM learns about her triad background, he decides to go after her hoping to learn more about the triads. LAM also finds himself in a contest of wits with Inspector CHING MAN-LIK (Ron Ng), who has been assigned to work as a liaison officer at the school.

On one hand, MAN is attracted to SUET but on the other, she only loves WAH. All of a sudden, WAH, SUET, LAM and LIK find themselves involved in a complicated love polygon.

  • The series is definitely getting more exciting! A lot happened in these 5 episodes and my thoughts on some of the characters have changed..
  • I knew there must have been a reason why Ping-Sok (Xuan’s uncle) was strongly against Xuan and Kenneth learning martial arts!  It turns out the Mok family has a background in martial arts too. However, because of Ping-Sok’s back-then righteous will for sticking up for the weak, he got himself into trouble and Xuan’s father ended up dying protecting him. From then on, he decided not to practice Kung Fu anymore and kept his past identity/past hidden- in order to protect the children.  He ended up revealing his martial arts to save Kenneth and Xuan.
  • Eventually Wong Fei Hong convinces him to see things differently and Ping-Sok ends up teach Xuan their family’s martial arts skills. I was really happy to see Ping-Sok let Xuan and Kenneth learn martial arts since they both seem to have a passion for it.
  • Grace Under Fire
  • I really like watching Bosco’s scene- how he grows and develops as a character- I pitied him when he was saying helplessly that he cannot take revenge for his father because his father is dead and no one can teach him their family’ mstyle artial arts. I was surprised/touched for Bosco when Wong Fei Hong’s offered to teach him,  allowing him to take revenge. At that point, Bosco was imagining his father teaching him, it was kinda sad. I think Bosco is going to look up to Wong Fei Hong that he wouldn’t want to take revenge on him later
  • Even though he keeps saying he wants to seek revenge, a part of me feels that Bosco actually looks up to him/respects him in a way.. When he went to fight Wong Fei Hong when the gang was attacking Wong Fei Hong and Raymond, he ended up helping them out when he was reminded of the time the villagers were  attacking him when he was a kid and how his father tried so hard to protect him.
  • Grace Under Fire
  • The other “awww” moment was when Wong Fei Hong/Liu Xuan asked him to stay to have “Zhong” for the festive season. For the irst time, Bosco could celebrate it with a group of people much like family… Initially I thought he would refuse given he “hated” Wong Fei Hong, but he actually listens to him and he is getting trained like he’s his master. The poor guy said to Xuan/Fala If I don’t take revenge, then what can I do?”
    Grace Under Fire
  • It’s kinda cute watching Xuan and Bsoco practice with each other, as they’re both still newbies at martial arts, but are both learning their own respective family martial arts skills. I think the two would make a very cute couple XD

  • Grace Under Fire
  • When Liu Xuan first appeared in the series, she gave off a pretty warm feeling. I think her dubbed voice suits her and she seems pretty cute . I think she’s doing a good job giving off that “ordinary” type of character; while she is still quite likable- kind-hearted, responsible and righteous. I think they’ve tried to *hint* some of her potential martial arts skills when she was able to hold up one of the bullies and quickly grasp some of the techniques from just watching others practice. I’m looking forward to seeing her fighting scenes and watching our heroine develop!
  • In contrast, Kenneth’s character is so silly lol. Kenneth is always getting himself into trouble and fights, constantly bluffs, likes to gamble, and he constantly pestering Wong Fei Hong (played by John Chiang) to take him in as his apprentice. While it is obvious that he looks up to Wong Fei Hong and respects him a lot, I still question the so called “commitments” he says he would make. I still think the main reason he wants to be his apprentice is because he’d think he’d be able to gain fame and no one would look down on him or able to pick on him anymore.
  • At first I found Kenneth’s scenes pretty entertaining but then later a bit annoying when I started to realise his actions were so immature…
  • While he has heaps of bad habits, Kenneth’s character is still considered a good guy and I do feel sorry for him when he gets picked on. It would be interesting to watch his change into the villain of the series- probably due to other rejections/humiliations/betrayl(?) he would  suffer. Maybe when  he turn out “evil”, we’ll miss seeing this side of him.
  • I think Kenneth and  Xuan make good siblings (although not blood-related)- they constantly they look out for one another. It happened once or twice when Kenneth would just grab her and places her down somewhere else. XD They’re both like little kids e.g when the two hide on the side to sneakily watch the material arts training or fights. I read on the website that Xuan is 18 in the series, while Kenneth is 24.
  • Grace Under Fire

  • Bosco appears to be very powerful in his fist attacks and we soon learn he is actually the son of the once- top Martial Artist in GuangZhou (Dominic Lam) 20 years ago, before Wong Fei Hong came along and defeated him- breaking up his family. Bosco’s mother passed away when he was a baby and Dominic is left with a serious contangious desease and health condition. The father and son have lived through hardships for survival and Bosco was never aware of his past.
  • It’s interesting to see that the respected Wong Fei Hong, was once  young and arrogant, leaving his life with many regrets, including what he owes Bosco and even his own son- played by Raymond Wong who can’t stand being with him.
  • Bosco starts to slowly open up to Xuan as she’s always really nice to him and wants to befriend him. She also cares about his father’s conditions and asks Wong Fei Hong for help.
  • However, after Dominic confronts Wong Fei Hong and reveals his identity, Dominic commits suicide by jumping into a river when he was sadden by the fact he is unable to pass on their family’s martial arts technqiue onto Bosco (due to his health); nor able to take revenge on Wong Fei Hong. This leaves Bosco filled with hatred towards Wong Fei Hong and wants to avenge for his family.
  • I doubt that Dominic actually died (based on promotional image and the themevideo) and it appears as though Elliot had something to do with the fight between the two. It would be interesting to see what he actuallt did, creating this huge misunderstanding between the two families… Read the rest of this entry »
