I was starting to get annoyed with Wong Fei Hong’s lack of response to Xuan’s confession. Xuan had already given everything she got yet he didn’t respond nor say anything, making Xuan look like it was a one-sided love; some silly little girl crush or something. I think he took him long enough!
Ping-sok seem so unreasonable, forcing her to marry someone else. I know it’s a big deal back in those days, but other than Wong Fei Hong’s age and the fact he has 2 sons (ok…it does sound a bit =X lol), Wong Fei Hong is a good man I suppose…
On the day of Xuan’s forced wedding, she runs away to find Fei Hong when she thought he was involved in some accident. Seeing how worried she was about him, he finally decided to be with her.
Ping Sok’s death was pretty sad 🙁 I really didn’t want him to fight Dominic but he was determined to fight him for the sake of Xuan, Wong Fei Hong, and most importantly- Kenneth (in hope he’ll turn him back good) I’m glad he was able to give his blessings to Gwai Lan and Wong Fei Hong before he died though and was able to be there at their wedding ceremony Read the rest of this entry »
It’s been a while since I’ve posted some “Moments of Comparions”- Since I’ve only recently finished ‘Grace Under Fire” and currently chasing “Relic of an Emissary” I decided to put one together XD I’m sure TVB has used this one before: a romantic scene where two characters get trapped in a well..
In Episode 28 of Grace Under Fire, Fala gets captured and in the process of saving her, Bosco gets attacked and the two get thrown down a well. It starts raining and because Bosco injured his leg, he is unable to escape. After much akwardness and separation after Bosco rejected Fala in a couple of episodes ago, the two finally get a chance to talk. As the water rises, Bosco finally confesses his feelings for her. The next morning, the rain has stopped and they eventually get saved, however Fala returns to Edwin (playing the Japanese guy)’s side.
In episode 23 of Relic of an Emissary, the princess is ill and gets captured and thrown down a well. While Michael climbs down to save her; the well gets blocked off with boulders and the two get trapped there. In order to save the princess, Michael feeds her his blood (a bit strange I know lol) and she mistakens it as water. The princess tells Michael how hurt she is by the way he’s been treating her and asks him why he’s sometimes cold towards her and other times so caring …(Poor Michael- could see how hurt he was too =( ) Although Michael does not answer her, he mumbles to himself the fact he can die by the princess’s side- there’ll be no more regrets in his life.. awww.. After they get saved, Michael refuses to admit his feelings for her and tells her he solely did it as part of his role.

I really liked this themesong after watching the series. I think Joe did a great job in singing this powerful song and suits the series pretty well. I actualyl like the themevideo sequences too (although the colour looks a bit funny)
I just started watching Relic of an Emissary and I’m loving it!! I’ve only seen up to episode 8 but I love all 5 main characters XD and so..I decided to put up a poll to see what you guys think XD Michael is soooo cool, but Sammul is so cute XD
FA LAI-CHU (Charmaine Sheh) is a kind hearted and innocent woman with the IQ of a ten-year-old. When her parents passed away, she shoulders the responsibility to care for her younger sister and brother.
While she is not able to bring home the bacon, she does an exceptional job protecting her siblings, though this often means bringing home hilarious troubles!
Taking charge of the family is Fa’s younger sister FA WAI-CHUNG (Toby Leung). She is determined to be successful by hook or by crook in order to take care of her mentally challenged sister and their younger brother, who is immature and has no business sense. She helps her supervisor, who is also her ex-boyfriend, LUK HO-CHEONG (Pierre Ngo), to betray the company they work at.
In the meantime, the chairman of the company TSEUNG SUM (Woo Fung), suffers a stroke. When he is in a coma, his playboy grandson TSEUNG YIK (Raymond Lam) gets fired from work but due to Fa’s kindness, Yik does not end up on the street. It does not take long for Fa and Yik to fall in love with each other.
However, when Sum comes around, he strongly opposes their “abnormal” relationship. Unwillingly, Yik breaks up with Fa and returns to the life which everybody perceives as normal.
These episodes were quite exciting! Many of the character’s feelings are confessed and we start to see the turning point for both Dominic and Kenneth’s character.
Episode 16 made me feel really sorry for Kenneth. It made me see how much Kenneth loved Fala- he was willing to do anything for her- including giving up any dignity he had
It just made it harder for Fala to reject him; but it made things worse on Kenneth because it only made him believe she loved him back- e.g she did not care that he was covered in crap- she took his hands and went to watch the movie with him~ but in reality, it was because she felt sorry for him :<
When Fala caught the rat-disease he went crazy- he did whatever he could to save her- but it was sad because we know no mater what he did, Fala wouldn’t love him back.
He didn’t care about his own life; to protect Fala he went against the gang of people. Although Kenneth is usually the one who would love to get recognised for something as heroic as saving his country, he clearely showed Fala was the most important person to him. He didn’t care that they gave all the credit to Bosco- he ran to see her first. Unfortunately the heartbreaking moment came when Fala mistakened Kenneth as Bosco and confessed her feelings to him!
I liked the scene between Kenneth and Bosco were at sleeping at the train station and they had a chat. It seems like the two become friends again and that perhaps Kenneth was recovering, and was “ok’ after Fala’s rejection. The two were also invited back to attend the ceremony in recognition of their achievement in saving the city from further harm caused by the rat-disease. Unfortauntely, the pain continues when Kenneth was bullied again by Claire; beaten up and was deprived from his recognition 🙁 I think this is it- Kenneth won’t be the same anymore..
Episode 11 was a pretty sad and emotional episode. It was the episode Kenneth was going to “die”. I really felt sorry for Kenneth during his last meal, tat scene was very touching… They say people usually reveal their real self just before death and all I could see was a very innocent child- the “goodness” in him. I liked how he realised and took the blame for causing Raymond’s death (getting drunk and getting into the fight at the restaurant) and he didn’t just push the blame to the real killer. Everything he said felt so genuine..it was also sad how he brought up that he had always wanted to apologise to Peng-Sok for eating the food and blaming the cat (it is such a ‘Sam Sui’ thing to do!) We all know that’s not important to them now..
I shed a tear when Peng-Sok gave him money to take with him so he could have an easier route as he “leaves the world” 🙁
It was moving to see everyone try so hard to save Kenneth. It was the combined effort of everyone which made it happen: Xuan, Fala, Bosco, his employeers, Wong Fei Hong, and the mayor.
I can foresee this being Kenneth’s major downfall..coupled by Fala’s rejection 🙁 He suffered a lot while in prison and his route will only become harder when he is released 🙁
Kaki made her appearance in the series- the way she dressed and acted made her appear from a wealthy background and was well educated. I had a feeling she would be linked to the Elliot (as usual with most TVB series XD)
I enjoyed watching Kaki’s interactions with Dominic XD Thanks to Kaki, Dominic has started to change into a nice person as she starts introducing church and the bible to him. He was willing to give up revenge and hatred. It already made a difference when he promised, if he lived and could be with his son, nothing else would matter to him anymore. It’s pretty amusing and ironic that Kaki is so different to her father and she’s actually going against him/ruining her father’s plans without her even realising lol For that, I quite like Kaki’s character. She’s a nice girl in a corrupted family..
I really wanted Dominic to reunite with Bosco (made me so anxious!) It’s sad to think he’s been used as a tool by Dominic. I had a feeling that Elliot would have his ways of corrupting his mind, and Dominic won’t be able to reunite with Bosco until awhile later.
I was actually pleasantly surprised that they reunited in episode 14! That episode felt like a happy ending- Dominic and Wong Fei Hong finally put the “past” behind them and Dominic learned to “let go”. He knew Bosco was the most important thing to him and nothing else mattered. John Ching also helped them Bosco a lot. I could see Bosco’s worried look turn into a smile when he saw John and Dominic come out together happily.
