The 3rd TVB Themesong CD Collection is finally out! It has been a while since Love TV 情歌精選 and Love 2 were released (back in 2008 and 2009 respectively).

Excerpt from YesAsia:

“The third installment of the Love TV series again offers an exclusive collection of recent TVB drama theme songs. In fact, many fans have been waiting eagerly for the release of hit songs like When Heaven Burns’s ending theme “Young and Innocent” (Bowie Lam, Moses Chan, and Kenny Wong), and Ghetto Justice’s main theme “No Time for Regret” (Hanjin Tan and MC Jin). Also present are popular dramas including Lives of Omission, Forensic Heroes III, A Fistful of Stances, Wax and Wane, and Yes, Sir. Sorry, Sir!, performed by top stars like Kevin Cheng, Michael Tse, Bosco Wong, Wayne Lai, Ron Ng, Kate Tsui, and Liu Xuan. There are also a few that enlist veteran singers, such as the Tai Chi Band (for River of Wine), Eliza Chan (for Grace Under Fire), and Tsang Lo Tak (for Be Home for Dinner). As a bonus, the compilation also includes Bosco’s theme song “Too Wrong” for his upcoming motion picture Love in Time.

When I saw this listing, it made me think they deliberately excluded some songs which I thought would have been nice addition to this compilation. Given that this CD covers TVB productions from 2010-2011, there were a number of Artists seemingly explicitly excluded, one being  Raymond Lam (Mysteries of Love, Growing Through Life, My Sister of Eternal Flower, Men with No Shadows). I guess it’s cool since he has released these in his own album releases. The other obvious one is Steven Ma :Cupid Stupid, Ghost Writer, The Life and Times of a Sentinel, A Watchdog’s tale. I wonder if it has to do with Steven Ma leaving TVB

The only ones I didn’t previously have were the CD Versions of Kate Tsui’s Wax and Wane Sub Themesong and Bosco’s upcoming movie themesong.

Synopsis

TONG SHAP-YAT (Kevin Cheng) enters the underground boxing scene for money when he is learning Thai boxing with his senior brother KO WAI-TING (Kenny Wong) in Thailand, a decision he regrets for the rest of his life.

In order to turn over a new leaf, he withdraws from the boxing scene and finds himself a job as a security guard at a sports goods company. His outspokenness attracts the attention of his supervisor CHAI PAK-FAI (Selena Li). YAT and office assistant BUT KA-SHING (Raymond Wong) do not get along at the beginning but they become friends after their misunderstanding is eliminated. SHING’s passion for Thai boxing impresses YAT. He picks up the sports again and also helps SHING improve at Thai boxing. He returns to the boxing gymnasium, too, where he started out as a boxer, determines to train SHING and deaf-mute boxer TING YAN-TSZ (Nancy Wu) to be boxing champions. Later, YAT and SHING’s amity is put to the test when TING tries to sow discord between them.

Synopsis

• Raymond Lam held his first world tour for “Light up My Live” and Sydney was his first stop!! I went to watch his concert last night at the Sydney Entertainment Centre and it was pretty awesome!!
• LF is so adorable!! XD  The way he occassionally  giggles “hehe” is so much like a kid lol
• He sang a lot of my favourite songs of his, including TVB themesongs from Moonlight Resonance (Love not Enough), The Drive of Life (Searching you in loving memories), Growing through Life, (So called Ideals) Survivor’s Law (Remember to Forget) : D
• I previously bought 2 of his concert DVDs: Let’s Get Wet & Come to Me beauty Live on Stage, so I spotted the similiarities and ideas taken from both these concerts. I think it’s a good idea that he incorporated all 3 concerts (including Light up My Live which I haven’t seen) into the one show (e.g Morning Cute, Dance with Kate, female melodies)
• Kate appeared as the Guest Star! I was actually pretty surprised since I didn’t know he was bringing someone. They performed their dance  together for “Let’s get Wet and Illusion” -it was hot XD Watch the clip!! XD
• Kate also performed 2 of her songs- Hit me and 讀心術. I don’tthink Kate is such a  good singer- her voice sounded pretty edited like her CD, but she’s a great dancer
• They also promoted their upcoming TVB series  Fight Crime <雷霆掃毒> where Kate played a beer girl and Raymond Lam as a police officer- can’t wait!!
• Had an enjoyable night being a little fan girl haha- hopefully he’ll come back to Sydney!! 😀

• The 25 episodes of Hippocratic Crush has finally come to an end. While I thought this series had a lot of slow moments and I felt they could have cut parts out to get the story to a faster pace, the series ended well with some really emotional scenes leading to the end (especially Kenneth’s proposal scenes- in episode 24- It was so moving!!).The first half of the series largely focussed on operational side and patients, with the second half on couples and relationships.
• I thought that the ending was surprisingly a happy one. It left a very optimistic outlook to their future and they cherish each day together :3 I thought it would be depressing one, but they didn’t show Tavia undergo the treatment. It was a happy, positive open ending which I’ve learned to appreciate!

Synopsis

• Note: This is the first TVB doctor series I’ve seen ( I haven’t watched Healing Hands or anything else) so the operation/hospital scenes were quite interesting for me. I heard this series may have plagiarised other series; but as I haven’t seen the other one, I am going to enjoy this series as a standalone one without comparing :)  )

• From episode 1, I really liked Kenneth’s “Yat Gin Tou”! I liked his overall character and he looks really good in this. So charming! haha From the start, we knew he wasn’t the type of guy Tavia thought he was. He saved the little boy with the bricks and didn’t claim credit for it while Tavia disliked him thinking he was only good at sucking up to her father who was a well known Neurosurgery specialist. Kenneth was her father’s top student. It was interesting watching his character unfold- the accident which caused his brother’s leg disability for life-it shaped who he was: the reason for not driving/owning car; the reasons he worked so hard, the real reason he chose his career. Tavia’s father saved his brother’s life.  He cares about his family a lot and is always busy working to earn enough money to support his brother in fulfilling his dream of studying overseas. As a result, he doesn’t focus on his own love life- his family were more important to him. Other than his own personal character, he is such talented doctor. He takes his work so seriously and I felt so sad for him when things (or people namely Ben) kept getting in his way; and he eventually gets penalised and could not step foot in an operation room for half a year. It was quite disheartening watching him pretend he was fine with it:  something he was so passionate about! However, from the bad, he learned a very valuable lesson- while working in clinical. Kenneth learns more about himself and his experience made him realise/care for the patience more than just saving their life. It makes him much more heroic XD
• I can’t bare to watch what will happen if he was to lose his brother ><
• I thought the actor who played young Kenneth suited him well.
• 
• I quite like Tavia in this role- she is a sophisticated, mature type of woman who is clearly a talented doctor (much like “The Other Truth”). I think she and Kenneth are really compatible with each other and I enjoy watching their scenes, especially during the times when Kenneth is down or when Tavia is dealing with her family issues. Their common share of interest in building models is cute too! I wonder if he realises Tavia’s feelings for him yet..

• The series also explores some ethical dilemmas, like Tavia and Kenneth’s conflicting views on who to save- the guy who caused the car accident, or the victim. Although I can sympathise with Tavia feeling sorry for the victim, it was sad that both could not be saved when the chances were one could have been.

Synopsis
