I think this one is harder to translate than the Sub/Ending themesong, but here’s my attempt ^^; It’s half direct translations/half not, but I think the message sorta gets across. Please correct me if I’ve misunderstood something or didn’t translate it properly =) had some help from a friend ^^;

This song appears to be in the perspective of Raymond Lam’s character Lai Yok Yi , and his negative attitudes towards life because of the disease his family line has inherited. At some stage of the story, he says that no matter how many people they save (as his family line is of the medical practitioners), they cannot cure his own fate, what’s the point? Until he meets Frankie’s character Lee Bo Yi..

If fate is deceiving
You cannot but lose control
Fate is deceiving, making you break your dream
Although this life you may fall in love with someone
The next life, you’ll be standing alone (empty-handed)

Even if again, you uphold justice and help others, the heavens do not care
nor would it be touching (change countenance)
Not fearing the weather may sink again
The mysterious directs
But I rather believe that being fortunate can help people overcome their difficulties
If it ends, we can find another
Footprints in the dense fog

If the fog clears, the moon will shine through the world (all living things)
Even if all brambles are chopped, there is still a “Bo Yi” (Referring to Frankie’s character)

… *to be continued* xD

[Glittering Days] Episode 9

Liza’s character is so mean to Roger..I think pretty much the whole time she does not like him; he does not appear to have anything against her at first, but after everything she does to him, he does not like her in return. I thought she was so evil in this episode when she couldn’t stop laughing even when she got home after seeing the glue and comb stuck on Roger’s hair. She sees it as getting even with him, since she blames him for not telling her about the ‘fake” son. In both situations they was about to tell the other the truth, but didn’t end up doing so. However, Roger felt bad for Liza and her son, while Liza didn’t care at all that Roger was fooled. I do feel sad for Liza though, since she’s treating Roger so poorly and that is her beloved son she claims to care for the most.

On the other hand, Charmaine cut her hair in exchange for a wig for Roger. All that hair must take ages to grow. It really does show how much she cares about him, though I still think she looks alright with the short hair.

Liza seems to really like the “mute” Charmaine ^^

[Face to Fate] Screencaps 2

[Episode 3]

[Episode 4 ]

A lot of screencaps of Anne Heung ^^ First appears at the end of episode3..I think she looks quite pretty in this series,esp when she first appears. In Frankie’s memories when he met Anne, I think he  looks really lost ^^;

[Glittering Days] Episode 8

The phone booth scene was cute ^^ Though I can’t yet see them in a romantic relationship, but Roger acting as he is now with the brotherly love~ I hope Charmaine doesn’t get rejected, cause its common that the guy (i.e Roger in this case) will end up loving her and go after her after he has rejected her before..and yeh.
Do sorta feel sorry for Liza how she had all her hopes up about filling up the photo album with 4 generations ahead. At least now when she’s the judge for the singing contest she and Roger are not deliberately crossing people off the list. I was quite surprised that guy(played by Lai Lok Yi) with the guitar that Sharon met would turn up at the competition and how Liza knew him. The relationships among the people are starting to connect with each other which is great! Liza’s friend’s niece is Charmaine, and that Lok Yi is Liza’s friend’s son (confusing? I should find out what Liza’s friend name is, playing a character called ‘Gill’)Sorta funny now to thinking back to when Liza secretly took Lok Yi’s guitar to exhcange for money and how Gill didn’t want her son to play music. I was always wondering how old her son was and where he was ^^; I wonder who is Roger and Lok Yi’s father is…..

*Charmaine’s dad never learns his lesson does he? Always itching to gamble..I can’t believe he believe what Joel had said, cause it was obvious he was making it up XD

[TVB 39th Anniversary Awards]

During the Anniversary awards I was studying for my exam; I can now finally post up take some screencaps of the event and some thoughts… What more can I say? Linda Chung getting the Most Improved Female Actress award was expected. There weren’t much surprise since they promoted her a lot this year. I didn’t watch a lot of the series where actors won awards, so I don’t really have much to comment, other than I don’t think Kevin Cheng should have won the Best Actor award, maybe most improved. Other actors probably felt ripped off. How can he possibly the best actor of TVB for the year ? ? =x Should say my congratulations to Charmaine for winning both awards for Maiden’s Vow. Her acting was quite good, and I liked her character in 3rd and 4th generation. At least the series “Maiden’s Vow” didn’t win..cause I didn’t enjoy it very much. I do feel sorry for Myolie though..just…yeh. Esp when Dodo asked her hoe she was feeling and she said “I’m scared I won’t get an award” +_+ I Can’t believe she said it.. I have yet to watch “To Grow with Love” to see. Yay to “La Femme Desperado” ^__^

After winning the Best Series Award at TVB’s 39th Anniversary, “La Femme Desperado” also grabbed the number 1 spot in ratings for all series broadcast in 2006.

Although “Forensic Heroes” had the same ratings as “La Femme Desperado,” the total number of audience tuning in was slightly lower, therefore placing it in second place. However, “Forensic Heroes'” ending pulled in 41 points, superceeding “La Femme Desperado” in its finale broadcast.

What else was there…oh, I liked the Miss Chinese International 2006 Trailer , which won for the best promotional clip^^ I personally thought it was effective when I saw it on TV earlier in the year. There were 2 performances..one with Kenneth Ma, Kenny Wong, Sharon Luk, Fala Chen, who were dancing and one with Raymond and Ron dancing and singing. The performances were ok I guess..why did they decide to go Indian Dancing though?
Okies..time for some screen shots!

Opening:

Top 5 Nominated for Most Improved Actress Award: Winner Linda Chung

Top 5 Nominated for Most Improved Actor Award: Winner Kenneth Ma

Kenneth’s reaction was quite funny. It looked like he never expected to get the award and was so shocked and looking around ^^; Like Linda, out of the top 5 nominees he was in a lot more series than the others. He was saying how he was nervous the whole time, no because whether he’ll get an award that night, but because he was going to do a dance performance later. His thank you speech was long, he kept thanking people, and the list went on =)
Top 5 Nominated for Best Supporting Actor Award: Winner Kenny Wong Tak Bun (Dance of Passion)

Top 5 Nominated for Best Supporting Actress Award: Winner Shirley Yeung Si Kei (Always Ready)

Performances: Sharon Luk, Fala Chen, Kenneth Ma, Kenny Wong

Top 5 Nominated for My Most Favourite Female character award: Winner Charmaine Sheh (Maiden’s Vow)

Charmaine didn’t look very happy getting the award- she probably wanted th Best Female Actress Award instead lol She didn’t seem surprised either. What I thought was weird was how Dodo was asking Myolie, Gigi , Ada how they felt and how much chance they think they have in getting the Best Actress Award..I mean, what does she want them to say? And Myolie, ended up saying twice how she was scared she’s not going to get an award..
Top 5 Nominated for My Most Favourite Male character award: Winner Steven Ma (Safe Guards)

Performance: Raymond Lam and Ron Ng

Top 5 Nominated for Best Actor award: Winner Kevin Cheng (Under the Canopy of Love)

I thought Liza’s comment on the top 5 nominees were mean, especially saying to Raymond how she did not expect him to get into top 5, neither did the audience (who is she to speak on everyone’s behalf?) That’s slack~ She also commented how Joe Ma has improved this year , how Bowie’s talking in his acting wasn’t good, and how Kevin may get the award because he’s TVB’s son…she may be joking around, but I rather her not be so negative.
Top 5 Nominated for Best Actress award: Winner Charmaine Sheh (Maiden’s Vow)

Charmaine was really happy here lol It was like, immediately bursting in tears~ she really wanted this award over the other one I guess ^^;

Charmaine’s sentimental Speech: “I thought that after receiving the Most Favorite Female Character Award, I would not get another award tonight. I really thought that I would never receive the Best Actress Award. When I started in the industry, critics said I had a chicken voice and that I didn’t know how to act. I am very happy to receive this award today. I did not disappoint my family and those who have always supported me!”

[Face to Fate] Screencaps 1

[Episode 1]

[Episode 2]

sub.gif

As a request for the lyric translation of [Face to Fate], I decided to give it a go at translating the themesong ^^ I had to get some help from some friends lol
I’m not so good at it, so please lemme know if I’ve got something wrong ^^ or misunderstood it XD Some are only literal meaning
Tavia:

Want to walk with you
letting you holding my hand
Even if I want to, but then there’s not then
Walking with you through Spring, Summer and Autumn
My heart was completely understood by you

Frankie:

Don’t have fluent dialogue
I’m like a puppet
Can’t say how love can last forever
The endless night turns into daytime
I also pass tiredly, do not go
Please seize my hand tightly
Looking at you

Tavia: Approaching you
Frankie: In the darkness
Tavia: in mid air
Both: Cannot separate what we have
Frankie: If keep kissing
Tavia: kiss away
Frankie: this atmosphere
Both:
Get used to the sense of reality of this kiss
Pay attention, approaching in your side

Frankie:
In the quiet night listening to your voice
Both: no reason
treat me way too good…

[Glittering Days] Episode 1-7

My exams are finally over ^^ and I can get the chance to do some blogging=D So far I’m quite enjoying this series, despite the time era (starting to get used to it actually) What freaks me out more is the tune/songs in the series~ it comes across my head once it awhile XD

This show is quite funny at times. I’m very annoyed at Liza’s character and how she treats Roger. All she cares about is her ‘son’..so glad she finds out that fakeo… I wonder when she’ll find out that Roger is actually his son? Don’t tell me its way near the end of the series XD I hope the story doesn’t get really serious and sad towards the end..
I really like Charmaine’s character~ she’s so cute! lol Very dopey and the voice makes it all funny as well. I wonder if she’ll still be likeable when her voice recovers.
I loved the little piggy as well, and the little piggy boat she made and released with the candle on it ^^ Very cute to see she has a crush on Roger hehee..and gets really happy when he buys her shoes and finds a job for her saying he’ll look after her XD
That “Ah Wong” that appeared in episode 2-3ish was werid!! I thought it was funny how Roger was talking to him though ehehe..his voice really sounded like Rogers version of that character. I wonder if it was a voice over o.0? I would admit though, if that guy took the role of “Ah Wong” in Square Pegs or Life Made Simple, I don’t think I’ll watch it *cough*cough*
Feel sorry for Roger’s character at times because of all those who hate him; really dislike Halina’s role (what did I say about her before ? lol ) When Roger first appeared in episode 1, I thought he was quite stuck up as well, but when you get to see his character he’s a nice person. I have a feeling Roger’s boss will take his revenge on him in the future, I’m already a bit worried about that ..that guy seems to have changing faces..he appears to be an easy-going person, appears to treat his wife well in the outside etc, but at home he’s different. Sharon plays his daughter, she’s quite likeable here too. I wonder if she’s going to meet Charmaine, Roger etc, or just going to have her own side story.
Joel on the other hand, never liked him in the previous 2 roles I’ve seen him in (Maiden’s Vow and Face to Fate) but I guess she’s quite funny here. As long as he doesn’t turn into a bad person etc I’m fine with him lol Its good to see he and Roger have a good brotherly relationship.
