[Glittering Days] Episode 22

So sad Roger has to end up hiding, constantly fearing of been recognised, been beaten up with nothing left, and eventually having to burn up his own first-released albums T_T ..feel so sorry for him!! The album also brought him a lot of bad memories for him. It was really sad..half a year had passed, and as he burnt the CDs we see flashbacks and scenes which has occurred during the time which wasn’t shown before.

The lady (who asked for deliveries) who saw him seems to be a very kind lady, I hope she’ll be able to help Roger in the future~ she seems to have also recognised Roger and even bought his album ^^ yay! At least we see someone out there how appreciates his songs…
I don’t know when Roger actually fell in love with Charmaine (maybe after she had written the lyrics for the song for him?), but its pretty obvious now that he does. Even though I believe Roger would have saved Charmaine even if he wasn’t in love with her (from episode 21), when he claimed that she was his girlfriend, he did mean it, but then later pushed her away because of what the bad things the men said to him. Its obvious in this episode when he sees that girl singing on stage he pictures Charmaine singing instead and they hold hands in his dream. He also got very hyped up (if that’s the right word) when he couldn’t find the pearl Charmaine had given him~ so sweet =3

[Glittering Days] Episode 21

I can’t believe Joel’s character becomes popular because of the silly act he did at the hospital -__-;; ..When that guy pushed Roger onto Joel and he supported him, it looked like Joel still had some conscience, but then quickly protects himself by pushing Roger away. That selfish guy in attempt to protect himself, ended up punching Roger in the stomach and then announcing they are no longer brothers all over the papers.

Aww..more touching moments~ like how it was Mid-Autumn Festival and everyone was with their families, while Roger was felt alone at his house, sitting on a seat eating oranges by himself..while Liza wants to eat moon cake with him. She does eventually ^^, and it does seem pretending his mother possessed her body was a good opportunity for her to spend more time with her son; too bad it didn’t last very long..Roger trying to be a good filial son ended up finding out Liza was pretending the whole time.

The last part about the Pearl and Roger throwing it in the ocean to show Charmaine, but secretly keeping it in his pocket made me feel really sad for the him..why did he have to hide it from her?

Starring: Bobby Au-Yeung, Jessica Hsuan, Michael Mui, Bosco Wong, Tavia Yeung etc

After seeing the trailers for this series, and episode 14 while Hong Kong, I’m really looking forward to watching this series. The cast looks good and haven’t Jessica for a while now. Gotta say when I first saw the poster for the series my impression I got was different to what I had imagined; looks comical with Bobby scratching his stomach. Bosco also looks very weird..can’t really tell its him. Tavia’s new figure is sorta disturbing too.

[Glittering Days] Episode 20

Aww….the scene where Liza (pretending her body has been taken over by Roger’s mother) and Roger talk about the past and finally telling each other how they felt was so touching~ and very sad ..I waited for this moment so long…Even though he doesn’t know Liza is really his mother, the emotions are real.

Although it was an emotional talk, there were some parts in their conversations which I thought were quite funny, even though I don’t think it’s supposed to be funny ^^. One was when Roger asked ‘how come you’re dead?’ And she replied ‘I didn’t die. I mean, I was too busy looking for you I forgot I was killed‘ The other was how he ask his mother, that if there is a ‘next time’, not to go in Liza’s body. Surprisingly it fitted together and work well with the sad scene ^^

Screencaps of the moments

Beginning of the episode/end of episode 19- Liza hears the song on the radio. Captures her reactions

Liza pretending to be possessed by a ghost (she looks so funny XD)

Roger’s mother talks to him

Roger realises his mother has died

Lok Yi and his mother (Susanna Kwan) make up with each other

The dead lady’s husband (Evergreen Mak). Determined to never let Roger’s have a happy life again ><

Roger visits the lady’s grave

Roger hopes she can rest in peace and not bother him anymore. Even though it’s supposed to be sorta funny how he gets freaked out and the burnt stuff fly all over his face, there was also a quick close up shot of the photo which actually freaked me out when watching it XD

[Glittering Days] Episode 15-19

gd_composelyrics.jpg

Finally caught up with the episodes! Just picking up a few points I like to reflect on during these episodes~ I really like the song [White Cloudy Sky] (which used the tune Roger’s mother used to hum to him to sleep) I particularly liked how Charmaine’s father ended up writing it out through actually hearing it from Liza (without him even knowing) while he was asleep, so Roger ends up with the full song. I also thought it was sweet how Charmaine really understood Roger and helped him write the lyrics ^^ The end production is really good too. I hope Liza will end up hearing the song someday!! Hopefully, the message will reach her ^^

Seems like Roger really likes Charmaine and I think its cute he tells her how he’s happy she understands him through the letter from her fan, and funny how Charmaine thinks her fan is written by an old man XD

I think its a good thing Sharon finds out about her mother/father..so she’ll stop blaming her..

gd_confess.jpg

On the other hand, that lady was getting soo scary getting all over Roger like that..because of that annoying evil Joel, the lady ends up committing suicide. ..the saddest thing is Roger being blames and bashed up so badly T__T AHH!!! Poor thing!!!! =’( If it wasn’t for the head police guy being there, that lady’s husband would have shot him dead T_T Liza(who thinks she’s doing the right thing) will so regret reporting to the police her own false understanding of the situation…I really really hate Joel’s character!!!!!! I’m scared that this is only the beginning of Roger’s tragic downfall…

Pooor Roger!! ><

At the end of episode 19, Liza finally hears the song……..

[Glittering Days] Episodes 10-14

On going on my trip, I’ve got 10 episodes to catch up xD Thanks to my bro who has been tapping it for me, I managed to watch 5 episodes today.
Joel’s character is one of the most annoying characters in the series..he pretty much causes all the problems for everyone, esp for Roger. You can really tell he would betray Roger someday for his own selfish reasons since he is really just a selfish person =x All the roles he had played in the series I’ve seen him in is unlikeable..

The other character who causes trouble is Charmaine’s father! I just felt that at times, if he spoke out the truth etc, Roger wouldn’t look as bad from people’s point of view. He tries to be a good father, brother and all, but he is still a coward a lot of the time.. *sigh* He tells Roger to leave his daughter, be harsh to her etc, and then blames him for hurting her =x
There were a few scenes I did feel sad:

*when Lok Yi ‘s mother found out he was in a band and ripped his shirt and cut the strings off his guitar. Both of them must of been hurt; even for the mother. I remember ages early in the series, his mother was very angry that Liza took her son’s guitar and sold it off even though she didn’t want him playing, she knew how much her son loved it and wanted to get it back for him. Even though Lok Yi left the house, I think his mother should go find him and apologise. Yes, he did leave, but he didn’t end up performing in the competition because of his mother..should she see he still didn’t end up going against her?
*when Roger watched his yet-to-release-first cds get crushed and destroyed. Roger is a good boy and I really like his character…I know I’ll feel really sad if his character will start falling, dunno if I can bare watching those really sad moments which will be coming soon >< The bet between Roger and Liza thing is a little confusing though. Looks like no one won/not one lost. Charmaine did not win the competition because behind the scenes they have already been paid and determined the winner to be someone else. But this truth comes out and they do not reannounce a new winner. I guess its a good way to cancel the whole thing without any of the two quitting their career in singing. I initally thought Roger was gonna lose which was what caused his down fall but I guess not. Roger does end up rejecting Charmaine with harsh words because he believes its the best for her. You can tell he really really cares about her..sometimes I wonder when he will like her more than a sister.. Liza, Lok Yi's mother, and Charmaine's father's idea to cheer up Charmaine and give her the motivation to sing again was pretty good =D It actually worked ^^ What was more touching was that Roger actually wrote one of them 9pretending to be one of her fans) and had sent it, ended up giving it through that chubby funny lady (who had no idea about the plan). This was the letter that had caught Charmaine's attention which gave her the will to sing again because her 'fan' related to her songs etc. ^^ That's so sweet ^^ The lady with the glasses who is a dye-hard core fan of Roger is starting to freak me out, seriously. Its ok that Roger is being the nice guy, but with his brother Joel manipulating and mucking things up stuffs up everything >< He makes it seem like Roger is interested in her in return and tricks her for lots of money~ can't bare to watch what will happen. Her husband is also very scary...he will kill Roger if any misunderstanding comes out +_+ Gotta say the lady was pretty good at lying to her husband about the missing necklace etc. And that girl Joel is after...geez..suits him doesn't she? Its obvious he's shallow and only after her looks. You can tell she only goes after him because of the money (which he tricked Roger's fan into giving him). Argh... Another new charcter is introduced- the son of the person who makes the costumes for the performers. Seems like a nice character =) I think Mrs. Flamingo lady's dancing looks cool..ehehe, I noticd it on the opening sequence and really wanted to see what her character would be like. Her story sounds a bit odd. I think she sorta deserves it for trying to pushing Liza off the stage, but instead falling off herself. I wonder if that man is Roger's father..? oo..yeh that was another point I missed out earlier. It was quite interesting to learn more about Liza and the earlier days ^^

December 2006

I’m back =)

Back from my trip now ^^ It was heaps of fun~ I did manage to watch an episode or two of Dicey Business [Episode 14] and Glittering Days which was spoiler-ish for me cause I’m not even up to there yet, but that can’t really be helped since Australia TVB satellite is about a week or two slower than HK …eheh it was neat to have a little dose of TVB while I’m away =D

Came home today to realise it was showing the last episode of [To Grow with Love] so I sat down to watch it. Throughout the airring of this series, I did manage to watch bits and pieces of the series, and some random episodes though it didn’t look that appealing. After watching the last episode, I’ve changed my mind about watching this series later. I probably won’t watch it anymore.Everything seems quite exaggerated (the story and acting), and Myolie’s acting is not as good as Charmaine in [ Maiden’s Vow]. I don’t really think it will be worth watching. On the other hand, [Dicey Business] will be airing on Monday =D Looking forward to this one
I’ll be back for more updates soon ^^
