Did I accidentally skip this scene, or was this part played in episode 1 not reused ” 5 years later”? I was waiting for this scene to come but I don’t think it ever happened..

I’ve seen series, like Heart of Greed, where they show a bit at the front, and then they go back certain years later so we watch to find out how it got to that stage and I guess something to keep us and anticipating. (The Green Hope, Chinese Paladin, The Price of Greed just to name a few…) But the scene they put in front is usually not the complete version and is shorten, so I thought the whole scene with Susanna/Bosco, Moses/Fala/Chris coming out of the car and entering the court was going to explained more in detail but it wasn’t; and instead, they played the same thing again. The court scene, along with the following scene (screencaps above) seemed to be made especially for episode 1. I think it tried to mislead the audience because what Susanna had said in court were all lies (sure after the truth behind Moses’ real parents came out it caused more problems in the house, but they all still treated Moses as nice as before) and in the scene above~ she blames Moses for causing the death of Lee See Kei (which she has been saying through the series which is ok I guess), but that fact is false as well.

In all the previous court cases, Susanna always had Tavia’s family and the Henry guy with her, but it happens that for just this scene they didn’t appear.

One thing remained true though, and that Susanna’s anger.

Warning: Ending Spoiler!!

[All my posts contain spoilers, but this is the ending, so an extra warning message ^__^]

Just watched the last episode so I decided to put up a quick blog entry! (then have to sneak back to my studying XD)

I like the ending of the series ^^ Its a really happy ending which keeps me happy. Moses and Linda scenes were sweet and emotional and I liked the proposal in end. It was quite cute- Linda just nodded ^^ I was really scared that they’ll lose the opportunity if Moses just left! I would really of hated it if Moses really did go away and then the two were writing letters to each other..’a few years time’ and they meet up again..Linda is finally able to put Raymond’s thing behind and accept Moses and the two get together I’m so glad that didn’t happen! XD Feel really happy for this couple; seeing the two run in the rain holding hands..the rainbow rain that fell on them was predictable but it was symbolic =)

I did feel sorry for Susanna especially the part where we can see the ‘goodness’ in her when Linda was telling the story about the past in court. She was genuinely moved thinking back to how much Ha Yu had loved her and she came to realise all the wrong things she has been doing. In the previous episode when Michelle was talking to Susanna, you can tell that Michelle genuinely sympathised with her and wanted to help her and somehow Susanna knew inside that what Michelle had said was true.
I’m glad that she decided to end the court case herself… it wasn’t hard to guess but somehow I’m not 100% convinced. It took 40 episodes (about 6 years- the time frame set for this series, plus an additional 30 years before) for her to realise that Ha Yu loved her…Lee See Kei had previously kept saying that Susanna won’t change and she would always be have that kind of mind and thought..only someone who can be “ordinary friends” with, and not family; but it was proven wrong…And that’s a good thing I suppose =) Susanna changed for the better and they accept her back as part of the “family” ^^

The Bosco part wasn’t hard to predict either…I’m glad Bosco played some sort of role in this ‘battle over the Tong Assets’; but it was still significantly small compared to what I had hoped…
That’s all for now! Will be putting up more series thoughts and screen captures of the other episodes ( 37-39) after my exams~~ Feel free to share your thoughts on the final episode!

[Heart of Greed] Episode 36

**Major Spoiler Ahead! Look at your own risk!***

While I watched this episode, I already knew Alfred was going to die in a car accident (from opening themevideo, episode preview and thanks to someone who spoilt it for me before I even started the series *cough*Metal*cough* -__-. I guess having this thought in mind I didn’t feel as sad as I had initially thought I would because somehow I felt ‘prepared’ for it. There were also heaps of foreshadow in this episode like the car accident at the beginning of the episode and how Alfred didn’t stop for many red-traffic lights. Through those instances I kept thinking ‘Stop doing that Alfred, you’re going to get yourself killed!! =(‘ I think the sadness from the whole situation is when you sit back and reflect on those thoughts..those ‘what if’ moments and the things Raymond and Linda have been writing in their diaries..what they were thinking ..how they felt…wanting to tell the other, and you think about all the things Raymond has done for her..all the sweet moments.. hoping they can be together again..hoping she can forgive him..and the thing was, she was touched and wanted to forgive him!…she sent him an email with so many “I forgive you!” messages…but he never got know… =(
When Yoyo went to see Linda, she kept asking Linda to forgive Raymond. At that point I was really annoyed at her because Linda hasn’t even forgiven her, so who is she to ask Linda to forgive Raymond? After awhile though, through their talk I found myself slowly forgiving Yoyo and she did managed to convince Linda at the end..just too bad it was a bit late..

Raymond crawling back in the car … at first I thought he was looking for the shell, but maybe he was looking for a phone instead..?
I didn’t expect him to walk away after he crawled out of the car..

He used his last few words to help Linda with her court case…I really wanted (and thought he would) ask for her forgiveness, but he was so selfless! Up to his last minute he wanted her to happy..he didn’t want to hear her cry T_T or feel sad for him..He lied to her that he has to concentrate on his driving and that he’ll call her when he gets home..!!!…their love story is so tragic..

Comments: First thing it reminded me of was “At Home with Love“(AHWL), from the seemingly boring-look and the word “Home” I guess…and how they are sitting on the tree (like how they were sitting on the buildings in the AHWL poster) I don’t particularly like the cast, especially the main leads =\ When I see things like this, I always try to cheer myself up by being a little more optimistic “Don’t judge a TVB series by its promotional image” XD But yeh, can’t help it..not looking forward to it and sadly its on the 7:10pm time slot =\

Comments:

At first glance the promotional image didn’t appeal to me~~ I haven’t seen The Academy, which this is supposedly the sequel to so I don’t know what to expect, but I did hear that The Academy was really good, even though sequels don’t alway match up to the standard set by the original. Either way, I’m now starting to look forward in seeing it, after seeing the trailer on TV the other day~ And Joey is in it ^^ Yay for Joey! XD Again I’m disappointed with the time slot! Why do all the seemingly better series get aired on 8:30pm instead of 7:10pm? =(

[Heart of Greed] Episode 35

Such a good episode!!! =D So intense!!

I’m so proud of Seung Joi Sum!! ^^ She won her first court case and it was against that guy who Alfred hates!!! haha!!~~ He lost to a newbie XD She did so well in the court!! ! YAY!! ^___^ I loved it how she interrogated Susanna, that evil lawyer was so scary and mean towards Michelle and I felt really scared for Linda as well! During the break, Linda went to see Raymond and he encourages her to think about him and Duk Duk Dei, to do it for them!! The two guys who both love her so much^^ and who mean the world to her ^^

Alfred was waiting anxiously outside and when Linda came out and told her the news the two embraced each other so happily *tears of joy XD* Why did they have to let go.. I really really wanted the two to get back together, can’t stand it anymore !! I can’t stand seeing the two love each so much yet having to be apart! How can’t she forgive him??

The two of them wrote their diary and turns out that at that point, Raymond really wanted to go back and ask her for forgiveness..Linda wanted to forgive him at that time too..but neither of them did =(

On the other hand, things are so intense in the Tong family. Susanna is sticking to her grounds of wanting 1/2, if not 1/3 of the whole Tong family’s assets and wealth! She deliberately causes Ha Yu to become so angry to fall sick into hospital over and over again, even bothering him at the hospital!! I felt a bit disappointed at Moses in the scene where he went with Dai Bao to talk to Susanna, ‘Henry’, and Uncle Bor who were at their business. Moses didn’t really do anything except stand and watch..really hoped he would come stick up for ‘Dai Bao’..(On a side note, Bosco’s significance seems so small! He doesn’t do much..or say much..nor appear that often..sometimes I feel that even Fala has more involvement in the family’s affairs).

Susanna is trying to make it big, announcing their matters all over the newspapers. While Ha Yu is in hospital, Susanna brings Tavia’s whole family to move ito their home! The poor kids who couldn’t defend themselves =( I loved the last bit where Ha Yu comes back !!! It was so awesome! ^^ I loved his speech!! (minus the ‘I love you’ bit hehe) The things he said to Susanna was ‘wow’! Amazed me! I thought he was so courageous! He knew his children needed him and did everything to protect them~ For the sake of his beloved children ^__^ he stood up against Susanna (even though he was really sick) and it really changed my view about his character in the series. Useless no more!

The episode ended with the dramatic themesong playing in towards the end and I felt it fitted in perfectly! So dramatic!! It would be really sad if his character dies T_T

haha! Take that Susanna! He’s not going to divorce you!  What can you do about it now? =P

Aww..they really need to protect each other!

[Heart of Greed] Episode 34

Seems like the official start of the immense battle over the Tong Family assets, as Susanna steps out of her fake stand causing ‘Dai Bao’ ‘s condition to become worse! Just two years after their wedding as planned, Susanna starts taking action by causing more troubles in the family! She tries to get Ha Yu to suggest the divorce so it would be more favourable for her claim in court. After learning that she won’t get much of a large share in a divorce situation if she was not involved with the family business, she barges into the business affairs, using her title as the official Mrs Tong! She reveals her marriage certificate, shocking the family!

Susanna finds Uncle Bor and Tavia’s family to get them on her side…sad that Chris was dragged into all this mess as well..having to hear all those bad words coming out of his mother’s mouth. I guess its also this, that he tells Moses what had happened and about the ‘Henry’ guy.

Ha Yu finds out about Susanna’s affair with ‘Henry’ ~~ making him even more heartbroken as he finally understands what Lee See Kei was warning him about…sad, yet too late.
After gathering evidence/photos of Susanna and ‘Henry’ together, Moses and Michelle go talk to the two in hope that Susana would leave the family for x amount; but Susanna won’t settle for anything less than half the family’s assets! She tells them her plans of taking it further to court and Moses reveals the photos, causing Susanna to be angry and scared~ The photos were really bad against her, so they decided to sue Michelle first on the grounds of Defamation (from what Michelle had said to her, comparing her to some dog =P) and that way it increased her chances of the compensation. (I don’t really know what that Chinese term is, but it does sound like defamation or something along those lines. Feels quite good to learn some legal stuff and see it in practice ^^)

Moses goes to find Linda to ask for Legal advice about the legal proceedings and she was hoping to get Raymond for help. He was so happy when he saw that she was calling him, but unfortunately Raymond was overseas at New York for some conference. She ends up taking them to her master who ends up assigning Linda to them! That sounds so risky!! The Tong family is so rich..I would have thought they would have tried to get a more experienced lawyer…I know its Linda but what if she loses? She can’t lose this one!! Linda has never been assigned any Court cases to handle and this one was against the Lawyer that even Raymond can’t defeat! Her master smiles and tells her that she can do it~

And what do we see in the next scene? Raymond! He flies back just for her~~ so sweet ^^~~ he wanted to be there for Linda for her first court case ^^ The two spends time looking up cases and trying to defend their case..I’m so relieved that Raymond is there to help her… Even Raymond said this case is really tricky and almost impossible to defend. Why was Linda’s master so confident?? It makes me feel that the Master didn’t believe they can win this case, so he lets Linda (a newbie) to have some practice because they won’t be able to win anyway =( I mean, Linda was just saying that her master never let her take on any because he believes she’s not ready yet..

At the end, while the two are eating outside, Linda tells Raymond that he doesn’t have to do all his for her because they’re just ordinary friends. He tells her not to worry because he understands, he won’t make her shed any more tears… He asks whether she remembers the contract she and Moses had. Raymond tells her that they have a contract too; one he has written in his heart..’..he’ll always be there to help her..a promise for life.. until either of the parties die..’ aww..~~ he’s too sweet!! Feels like Raymond has changed so much for her~~~
