Home Troopers Poster
Synopsis

All these years, LAI KA-KA (Liza Wang) has been looking after her family well. Both her husband CHU KOT HO (Ha Yu) and her eldest son CHU KOT CHING (Kevin Cheng) look up to her as their temporal and spiritual leader.

Although KA is resolute in her belief that she has the best plans for her family, CHING secretly invests in a domestic cleaning agency without consulting her mother. When KA finds out, they have a terrible quarrel.

Suddenly, CHING’s business partner KEI WING-FAT (Raymond Cho) disappears all of a sudden and puts him at substantial risk of bankruptcy. He has no choice but to run to KA for help.

CHING immediately arranges for the whole family to share the work, hoping that this would help him out of crisis. Due to manpower shortages, CHING decides to hire FAT’s girlfriend TUNG KAM-PO (Bernice Liu) as a temporary worker and later even falls in love with her.

On the other hand, KA’s daughter CHU KOT YUNG (Mandy Wong) has been dating a married man TONG SHAU-LAI (Vincent Wong) while her youngest twin boys have spent too much time messing around with girls rather than concentrating on their studies.

All these recent happenings have sparked tension between KA and her children, causing a series of family rifts. Can they overcome their problems and maintain their family ties?

hmmm…read the synopsis, probably won’t watch it since it’s gonna air at 8.30 here ^^; Typical modern family story it seems

    • Madeline says:

true; I watched the first 5 episodes of the series and it’s going alright so fair. The storyline is ok I guess 🙂

    • KTVB says:

Yeah it sounds like a typical family dramam from TVB. Would most likely skip this drama due to other commitments-but for those who decide to watch it, feel free to share your thoughts! 🙂

  • Madeline says:

seems like an interesting show to me 😀

  • Rin says:

Oh my, is someone trying to impersonate Kerry now? Lol.

Anyway, mmm I’ll probably skip out on this series… I don’t really like anyone except for Kevin and the story is such a typical TVB family series. Unless everyone starts raving about how good it is… lol. I doubt that 😛

    • KTVB says:

Hey Rin! Yes..someone has been trying to impersonate me lol I’ve deleted the comment now and will probably ban the person off if he/she tries to do that again..

  • Badger says:

Wow K, I can’t recall such a comment from you about a TVB drama before. Sounds like one to avoid. Thanks for the heads up.

    • KTVB says:

Hi Badger, I didn’t write that comment lol Someone was trying to impersonate me so I’ve deleted the comment. I haven’t seen the series so can’t say much, but you could give it a try and lemme know what you think about it ! =)

      • Badger says:

Thanks for your reply K. I usually wait until a show hits DVD before watching so it could be a while before I watch it. 🙂

      • Badger says:

I watched this series recently and it is pretty much a typical TVB family series….squabble, make up, squabble some more, add some family dramas and then everything works out in the end and they all live happily ever after. I don’t think anyone is missing anything if they skip the series. But if you’re a fan of any of the main stars, then it may be worth your while. I like Bernice Liu so it was good to see her in another series.

  • Chibi says:

Dear visitors, all K’s real comments are highlighted in the comments box- That way you can tell if it’s a fake person pretending 🙂 The ones made above are now deleted and are not K’s real comments.

  • Madeline says:

I watched 9 episodes of the show so far now and it’s like a typical family. Liza’s character role doesn’t change much comparing to War of in laws 1 and 2. And this show is somewhat similar to war of in laws 2 because of the bernice and kevin situation. And like it’ll be great if you have the poster of the show I really appreciate it 🙂

btw, thanks for the warning. and don’t worry about the person who tries to impersonate you. Just think of it as that person is jealous that you have such an awesome website! 😀

  • zihwye says:

I’ve been watching this one for some time.
It’s alright… I’m not a fan of Kevin Cheng’s, but I’m watching it cuz I’m too bored. I got kinda irritated at the start cos it was so typical and therefore boring, but I think the new faces are refreshing. Mandy Wong and the twins!

  • AC says:

I’m finding this series better than the typical family series so far. I like most of the main characters and their interactions with each other. I also really like Bernice’s character- this role is suited for her. 🙂

  • bubble_teas says:

OKAY! Is that really you KTVB cause I remembered Chibi said that your comments are all highlights!

  • ilovechungkayan says:

hey. who got link for the theme song download?
    i lov the song 😀

  • Aly says:

This series is not bad so far. They have some new faces. I’m tired of seeing the same people onscreen, so this is a good change since I haven’t seen Kevin and Bernice’s series in a while now. I actually think Mandy Wong, the one that plays Liza’ daughter, is doing a great job. She seems to be getting more roles now, and I have a feeling she will get promoted to even meatier roles soon. I know my mom likes this show cuz sometimes it will give some cleaning/household tips, so she loves that! LOL..

I would also like to know where to download the themesong. Or will you be posting it on the website soon? Thanks!

    • Madeline says:

I agree with Aly, I have a feeling Mandy Wong will get a really really evil role that can really get her in a tight spot in TVB’s nominees. If she keeps this up, she can have a lot of opportunities which I hope TVB will give her. The twins were interesting in the beginning. although I don’t really see the identical part about them. 😛 Yeah agree, I haven’t seen Kevin Cheng and Bernice as a couple before O.o But I think they are good together in the show 🙂

BTW, I really really love the theme song. I think that song is probably the best theme song so far. Others are good too like Twilight Investigation and Show me the Happy.

  • Madeline says:

umm real owner of ktvb. someone is impersonating you again…he/she had copied the whole entire entry you made…I think you should check this person out and block him/her from impersonating you.

  • jessie says:

does anyone know the waltz song in episode 5? thanks! 🙂

  • zihwye says:

okay i just finished watching this series and it was seriously quite atrocious :/ go watch it if you must.

  • cooldudejohn says:

I’m up to episode 15 (I’m travelling so I sometimes don’t have internet access – very annoying btw) and like everyone else, I’m surprisingly, really enjoying Mandy Wong. Her presence makes this series much more fresh and enjoyable. Liza really can be so freaking annoying, she can drive me mad sometimes and Ha Yu is the usual protective father who is always the ‘good person’. Raymond Cho is doing an amazing job at being ‘evil’ or more so ‘annoying’ cause he is annoying me. I definitely wanted Kevin to be more ‘man’ as he’s always someone without guts to do anything (espeically with Bernice and when Raymond comes back). But so far, I feel eager to finish the series.

  • bubble_teas says:

This series is really interesting if you enjoy watching a light hearted family series. I also heard 7 Days in Life is great =). I’m also anticipating The Rippling Blossom since it’s about suchi and it is Julian Cheung’s series.

  • byakushi says:

pretty good family series mandy wong was very good in here

  • Lollipop says:

I actually enjoyed this drama, although many of the events/scenes were so predictable.

  • dot-t says:

  • Jnewin says:
