Episode 5 ended very emotionally! Yuen Qiu refuses to take the operation, despite being in immense pain and her life was at stake. Her children kept pleading her but she stood very firmly at her decision and refused to listen to them.
She finally reveals at the end of the episode..
In the year her husband went missing after saving baby Kenneth back, Tavia was riding her bike to treat her patients (to earn money for the family despite being pregnant with twins). An accident occurred where she was hit and Tavia was brought to the hospital. While semi-unconscious, she overhears the doctors saying they’ll need to do an operation to retrieve the baby twins out in hope to save them or else the babies will die along with Tavia.
At that moment Tavia prayed and pleaded to God to give her one more chance. She couldn’t leave now- she still had 4 children to look after and have yet to find her eldest son back. She pleaded to let her live until Kenneth turns 28 so they could all at least look after themselves. A miracle occurred and Tavia was able to wake up along with her twins beside her 🙂
This year, Kenneth turns 28 and she once again had to face an operation. She felt it was God who is here to take her life away as she had promised and that she won’t be able to wake up this time.
The words Kenneth gave were so emotional. “You haven’t completed your duties yet” ” Do you have so much time on your hand to guess what God is thinking? How do you know God won’t give you a second chance? Since their mother still refused to take the operation, Kenneth lead the rest of the sibling to swear all the worst things that could happen to them if God will let their mother live. Kenneth was willing to give up his life at 29 and Natalie swore she will no longer be able to stay in the family and become lonely for the rest of her life.
Yuen Qiu finally could not bear seeing her children do that to themselves anymore and made them all stop. She finally agreed to take the operation!! :DÂ So touching!!
wow! you’re so fast in updating, i can’t even read your posts anymore cause i’m still on episode 1 hahaha, don’t even have a chance to watch it til like end of may 🙁 i’m so tempted to read your posts, but fistful seems like too great of a series to be ruined! but quick question, are you only doing odd episodes? i’m adding all your posts to tvb central handbook so i’m just curious 🙂
Good choice of not reading spoilers XD It’s too good to be ruined!
I’m just doing snippets of a scene or two about episodes that I feel like haha
Im at ep 18 of this show. I would have to say, this show is nt bad after all.
This sounds very touching! I’m not really interested in shows of that pre-modern era, but the premises sounds good…maybe I’ll give it a try! Have been lacking new hk dramas to watch recently!
You should! You should! It’s my favourite of the year so far! 🙂 I grew to really like series from the pre-modern era- they turn out so much better than they look XD
I love this series so far. I just finished episode 20! I am dying to watch the rest. In my humble opinion, it seems that Kenneth acts more like the “elder” brother in the series than Kevin. He is more quick witted than Kevin, whom seems to be clueless most of the time. Despite that, I love Kevin’s acting. He has improved so much. Instead of just smiling and giving out that cool studded emotion look of his, he actually screamed, and cried in this series. Hopefully he gets paired up with Natalie in the end. Nancy and him looks like a good pair, but I want to see him and Natalie has a pair more. Jacky Heung isn’t that bad. He is really new to acting, spare him. He does fit the spoil kid, and has that bad boy look. I love the way he dress. As for Shirley’s twin, I wonder why his name wasn’t on one of the main cast list. He did so much more than(as in acting, dialogue script, etc) Stephen, in my opinion.
Overall, this is such a good series. A mixture of both martial arts and drama!
haha its always about the popularity..Stephen and Shirley are just more “high profile” than him XD
Yeah Jacky’s quite unnatural a lot of the time, but he’s new and has that bad-boy look. I heard has a martial arts background 🙂
From all the screencaps you’ve made, this series looks quite interesting and emotional. To be honest, I was not very interested in the cast (except Tavia, but she’s just a cameo), story or setting of the series. But it looking better/sounding good though now.
Glad you like it 🙂 I’m trying to convince more people to watch it haha
wow…i watched this scene..and i thought instantly:
Moonlight Resonance…
especially the line where Kenneth asks his mom why she has so much time to think about what the heavens is planning. It is exactly the same line Hor Ma said to Ha Yu in MR when he went to the hospital and became scared that he was bringing his family misfortune.
Hahaha I couldn’t resist finding it all very similar to MR. I would say Yuen Qiao and Hor Ma’s characters are alike..but i think Yuen Qiao’s character has bit mor jazz to it..or maybe i like Yuen Qiao more..not sure.. haha but she’s more fiesty and quicker reactions..LOLS
But must say..this is really a different side of Kenneth Ma!! Haha he’s all of a sudden very bossy…and he portrays it very well as this eldest brother.
anyways very emotional scene!! it felt really realistic and quick..btw is natalie’s character the youngest? is she the favourite? hehe i am reading your spoilers to watch it..HEHEHE
haha! Oh yeaaaaah! I completely forgot about the JoBa in hospital scene haha nice catch Lavender XD
And yes I agree with the Yuen Qiu and HorMa comparison as well.
Kenneth’s character is quite stubborn and but it’s quite consistent with his character 🙂
Natalie is older than Shirley and her twin but since they were already born when she was adopted, she’s known as the “6th sister”. Natalie is Kenneth’s favourite sibling ^^
Great show, really hope that it wil be shown in tvb ..
Does any of you know where can i watch this drama online ? If any kind souls know, can you contact me @ pecageal_29@hotmail.com
THAKNS ALOTS <333
I was hoping Kenneth will shoot to fame after this show, but I am disappointed.
His acting really moves me.
