To guarantee a better life for her daughters, she has started training the girls since they were young, hoping that they will marry into the richest families when they mature.
YAU’s first daughter HONG NGA-YIN (Maggie Shiu) does not agree with her on her values. Yet when she sees that the man YIN is going out with is KO CHEUNG-SING (Bowie Lam), who is very well-off, she decides to let YIN go with her choice. YAU’s second daughter HONG NGA-TUNG (Gigi Lai) is hopelessly romantic but does not seem to have much luck with men. To make it up to her, YAU seeks to match her up with HO CHIT-NAM (Moses Chan), the son of Hong Kong’s most powerful business tycoon HO FUNG (Ngok Wah). Being the youngest in the family, HONG NGA-SZ (Ada Choi) is well aware of YAU’s concerns. Having recovered from divorce, SZ now decides to pin all her hopes on FUNG.
YAU’s persistence pays off and her daughters have all found a wealthy husband. But money does not really bring them happiness and the sisters are gradually losing themselves in vanity.

Comments: The Mega Grand 80 episode production is finally here XD I remember the hype about this series during its filming and I’m quite shocked that its release is so soon now! It looks so epic, grand, glamorous with a very strong cast! After looking at the Sale presentation clip last year I was greatly anticipating it but the fact the series is 80 episodes makes me fear I might get tired of it lol But of course if the series is really good I wouldn’t mind =] I just hope for a great script and story and won’t turn into a major failure like ‘The Dance of Passion’. Since it is 80 episodes, it’s going to be aired in HK for a total of 4 months!

Yay, this “Mega Grand” series is finally out!!
Is that Linda Chung on the first one on the left? I couldn’t really make out who that is. (just saw her name on the cast list)
Hope its just as good moonlight resonance
i’m so excited for this! i personally love extra long series because i go on like 5-6 episode binges and i watch like half of the series in one seating, so an extra long series will let me watch it for a longer time hahaha,i love the poster! and all the characters, especially excited to see lee see kei and linda chung!! yay! can’t wait!! 😀 hope you keep posting!
So exciting about this..didn’t expect Ada to be the youngest. I thought Gigi is the youngest of the 3 sibling..interesting…
Black is really “in” for Hk peeps I see lol
but it really fits the cast. Really gorgeous!
LOL. I saw one of the actors being interviewed in astro during mid last year. i thought it was a new show and i kept finding for it. I gave up finding it and never did i expect it was not out yet ==
80 episodes is damn much dude but it is sure got to be a nice show LOL
Yay! This series is finally out. Much anticipated when I first saw the sales presentation but filming was delayed due to Gigi’s brother having an accident. Sounds so interesting but 80 episodes? Pwoah!
To kinki: Yup! That’s Linda on the left
So many male characters 0_0
DO you know where i can watch this new movie online. Hurry in watching this one.
Reply from KTVB: It’s not out yet =)
is this a good series?
seriusly, linda’s acting is miles behind all those veteran actor and actresses…how could tvb even cast her in? dear god…hope the show will not be ruined by her…
LMFAO watching the whole drama, I find myself looking forword to the parts when Linda Chung was in. I feel like its interesting to watch her as Elise. Also, I think that the only thing interesting other than Ada’s role WAS elise. So i dnt think the show was ‘ruined’ by her. Also, don’t judge her. I mean she is jst in tvb for like 5 years. Yet she is in the same status as someone who has been in tvb for lets say 10 year? (tavia). And other people like myolie, & bernice. So i really give her props. She imporves constantly.& has her ups & downs.
i miss moses and gigi pairing. Their pairing in The Ultimate Crime Fighter is great.
so there will be no more review for each episode in this series? i really like your review on each episode for series that has many episodes in it….anyhow i really appreciate all the reviews you had put in…will look forward in any kind of comments that you’ll be doing in future. Thank you, K TVB.. 🙂
yaaay ! linda & bosco is in it . 😀 why not raymond tooo ?
hey ya!any1 have the english song for dis series..
the diamond n jewel..bla2..hehe
please upload..thanks!
hmm ive watched up to 19 on mysoju but i still havent seen bosco in it?
Reply from KTVB: I think he appears after episode 26 (can’t remember ^^;)
I was kinda irritated by Gigi’s character in the show. She keeps trying to be a good person but keeps crying and crying. her relationship with Moses is so draggy.
I like Maggie’s character, very strong and independent woman, with her own thinking.
Having watched 3/4 of the series..
The story is turning drastic. By the looks of where it is heading, I don’t think the three sisters are going to end up happy.
For Ada, her character has always been selfish and now she seems to have become corrupted too! She seems to be drugging Martin or something to take control of the entire corporation!
There also seems like there no hope for Bowie and Maggie which is a shame. I would have liked to see Maggie and Sunny both raise up her and Bowie’s child, but that doesn’t happen either 🙁
As for Gigi, she is determined to have a divorce with Moses and I don’t see how else they can get back together…
I am glad the writer present gigi’s character actually.. To me it sorta balance up the evil characters which grow like mushrooms in Gem. I am beginning to think tt pple tend to associate stubborness, evil or anything that goes the opposite/against the law/our conscience as ‘cool’. God, isnt that scary.
i totally agree with ‘me’. Hope linda dosen’t spoil the show… but really looking forward to it as bosco and louise is in!! yeah!
hehe you’d be surprised. Linda’s performance was one of the highlights in the series. She performed well as Elise 🙂
This is a pretty good show,
and the concept and the ideas are really good,
but i think 82 episodes is way to long,
it’s just being dragged on and on
and it’s basically repeating itself with the competitions
=w=
will gigi and moses still be a couple after the divorce? i think they make a cute, matching couple!!
They sort of hint in the last episode that they will get back together in the future 🙂
*I found another post I drafted back in 2008 when I watched it, but never published, so here it is!* This post continues on from: Love Storyline
Love Storyline (2) Gigi
Gigi(Constance) and Moses(Terrence)
Moses and Gigi’s relationship started gradually I guess. Moses felt comfortable having a friend like her because he felt she wasn’t those plotting manipulative people who only wanted to get benefits off him so eventually invites her to work for him as his secretary despite little arguments they had over Ada and his father being together. Adding to that, Lee See Kei started doing things behind the scene like she always did and tried to pair these two up. When Moses started pursuing her, Gigi couldn’t get over her past experiences and fantasies and kept pushing him away. She didn’t think he was “the one” for her and she appeared annoyed when he was trying to pursue her. She put on the attitude that he was not good enough for her which I found annoying to watch itself. She didn’t seem to really like him, but finally accepted him when he was comforting her after she found out one of the girls who she was sponsoring overseas had died in an accident.
Very shortly after they started dated though, they found out that Ada had married his father and she couldn’t be with him because of the complicated family relationships all messed up. Seeing her mother and family suffering because she didn’t know what to do. She wants her sister to find happiness, wanting her mother to accept the relationship. Gigi promises that she will break up with Moses and she could do it because their relationship was not that deep.
I don’t really like Gigi’s character in the series. Her constant fuss and making big deals out of nothing is starting to remind me a bit of Linda’s character in Moonlight Resonance. Her exaggeration and concerns seem irrelevant and bringing up little problems with could have just passed.
I’m actually quite bored with this couple and still don’t feel much. They look good together but that’s about it. Gigi’s character annoyed me so much in the series with her constant dilemmas and indecisiveness. She also put on the attitude that she was too good for him, pushing him away, saying she could handle everything, but then go back crying in his arms… I don’t like watching weak character like these..They loved each other so much? It just seemed kinda forced. How could they really love so deep? She is too naive and simple minded, wanting to elope with him…
Eventually, despite her mother’s disapproval, Gigi continued to date him.
At the spur of the moment when Moses was in depression after being humiliated and having Gigi there for him, the two of them went away and had a secret wedding..It just seemed rush and kinda selfish how she just got married. I was annoyed and just glad she’s married now. I just wanted the story to move on..
Also because Maggie is on Bowie’s side who is rivals with Moses (whom Gigi is supporting) the two sisters often argue because of the men and there are sequences of ‘attacks’ where the men used the woman against each other as “weapons”. The bond between Bowie and Maggie was evident. Bowie didn’t want to make it hard for Maggie to face his sister, so told her to tell Gigi to pass onto Moses about a business man being a fakeo. However, this caused even more trouble and misunderstandings. However, Moses ended up using Gigi on the spot.
This was indeed rather interesting to watch:)
